In forum: Virtue ThemeHello..
I first had a free version, now the premium..so I come here with my questions. T
I am having some problems with my shop on Virtue.
I did some updates again….and now my shop-categories do not link to the categories..but some to the portfolio-pages I have and some have no page connected to them.
Maybe you can have a look: *Login to see linkI also have no idea about the catergoies names/links in the menubar of the shop…the names are there, but there is not a connection to any pages. Hope you know what I mean.
Thank you

Tks for the reply Ben, I imported that content already, it didn’t work properly, looked a mess, and I restarted.
The demo content 3 url is how I need the site to look as a base, ESPECIALLY the home page layout of upper menus and their backgrounds. I’ve already tried to emulate demo 3, poor success and started that one again too.
It’s not a reflection on your theme, it just is a complicated, steep learning curve.
Let me keep going and I’ll come back to you.
JohnIn forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Custom Site Background Image
If I were to want to create a custom background image for the site in photoshop how would I go about doing this? What would the size need to be to cover the entire background “cleanly.” Also it seems the background scrolls when you scroll with the mouse. Would there be a way to keep the background still so when I have made the background image it does not scroll with the page? I hope that makes sense. My site is *Login to see link

May 9, 2014 at 10:01 pm #8735Hey,
So you can use the demo content here: https://www.kadencewp.com/install-virtue-premium-with-demo-content/This will create pages, posts and products with images that you are free to use. There is even a export of a revolution slider example.
As for getting the same color scheme as site three that is pretty straight forward, and I’m happy to help. Will this work for you?

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Product layout

Never mind – i found it.
Something i struggle with is the overall How-to of the theme. I found the sample layout pages of different layouts, and the features are displayed, but not really identified, or explained. For example there are many ways of displaying pictures – gallery, protfolio, sliders, etc.But a “best practice” of how to use each is not there.
I come from a dreamweaver background, and as cumbersome as that may be, i can see the entire page as i build it. With WordPress, i feel like i’m working blind. All the portions of the page are built in different locations (header, top bqr, side bar, widgets, etc.) and there’s no overall view to assemble a page from. Am i missing something? Is there something better, maybe Joomla?
Anyhow, i’ll press on, and i really appreciate your help.
thanks
Mark C.

May 9, 2014 at 11:22 am #8708So create a product, add a featured image and one image to your product gallery.
Then in the theme options > shop settings scroll down till you see “Product Image Flip” turn on.then view your product on the shop page or in a carousel and it will have the flip function.
BenIn forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Product Display Changes
Hi Ben. I don’t know if this is possible but it doesn’t hurt to ask.
When you click on a product, I would like to remove the tab & white line under the photo that says “Description”
Underneath that, it says “Product Description” but I wan to change that text to “About the Artist” and remove the white line.
I would like this to happen for all my products. Here’s a page you can see what I am referring to:

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: How do I reduce the width of a page(s)
May 9, 2014 at 7:28 am #8692Thanks, that did it. So the page says “It is recomended that you leave this off.” could you elaborate on why this is the recommendation?
Hi there would you be able to take a look at the following page, to advise how I can prevent widgets in the primary sidebar overlapping my blog post please? See link
Thanks,
Claire
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Limit Blog Entries On Home Page
May 8, 2014 at 9:57 pm #8675Hey so it looks like you have the home page set as your latest post page, which makes the “page content” the latest posts. Which is different from the “latest posts” module in the theme options.
Just go into the theme options > home layout and enable latest posts and disable page content.

In forum: Virtue ThemeMay 8, 2014 at 7:39 pm #8673I’d like to make the default width of my site about 1/3 smaller. How do I manage the default width of all pages? I’ve looked in all the theme options and I’m either overlooking it or looking in the wrong place. Thanks!
In forum: Virtue ThemeHello,
I have selected only 2 blog entries on the home page yet so far all four of them are showing up. Anyone else have this problem? Any idea on what I can do? I like having a few on the homepage because it adds to the store but having so many seems a bit distracting to me and if they are going to keep adding when I have say 6 or 7 it will definitely make my site look less like a store. My site is *Login to see link

I’m coming along. Next questions:
how can i manipulate the size and locations of the descriptions on the bottom of the menu items. I need to change to smaller fonts, among other things.
an example of what i’m doing is here: http://ballroomdancersworld.com/THe settings page for Home Layout has many different sections to it: image menu, featured product, image carousel, etc. I’m still new to this theme, and wordpress, and need a visual example. Before i get into these items, i need to figure out if that’s what i want. Is there an example page of what all these things are, so i can decide if i want it, or if there’s a better way? That would be a BIG help.
thanks,
mark cIn forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Header links – I'm already doing it all wrong
May 8, 2014 at 2:01 pm #8658Hey,
You just need to create a assign your menu in the menus page of WordPress, under appearance. On the page you linked to it looks like you are using the “default” page template. switch to the “fullwidth”
then in your custom css box in the theme options > advanced settings.
Add this:#content, .page-header { text-align: center; }Ben
In forum: Virtue ThemeMay 8, 2014 at 1:31 pm #8656This is the website I’m wanting to emulate, THAT is the site that made me want to get this theme.
Well I went about it the wrong way and created a home page for it (here). While mine looks similar when you click to another page all the links are gone (here). What a total duh moment for me (what was I thinking?).
So I have looked at each theme customization page but I’m not seeing anything obvious for creating top of the page links that show up on every page. How do I accomplish this?
And as a bonus question, how can I format the content to be in the center of the page. Not format the text, but how the page is presented. Here is an example where everything aligns to the left, I’m wanting center.
Thanks
In forum: Virtue ThemeMay 8, 2014 at 1:18 pm #8655Hey so have to make sure you are adding this while working in the text tab on the edit page. Is that the issue. Here is what I see on your page:
