In reply to: Problem with Search box in Header
August 31, 2020 at 1:00 pm #256093Sorry about not replying to your question on deactivating plugins.
I have not tried that, mainly because the full page search works SOMETIMES, which makes it more difficult to test by deactivating.
Often it works fine right after purging all caches.Since you mentioned that you found a problem I was hoping for an alternative solution.
One thing I wanted to test was a regular search pane, and I have now tested that with the Beta Kadence Pro theme, and it seems to work.
But after changing to a search pane I discovered that the toggle icon (hamburger icon) has a similar problem as the full page search – inte only flashes. After purging all caches it works.I could try testing deactivation next time it breaks.
Still, if you have any info on how to fix the javascript error, please let me know.In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Can’t access theme options
Hello,
So the old way of page builders did add a bunch of code that may or may not slow down the site. Kadence themes are focused on speed and we provide blocks/widgets for site builders to help optimize the code produced by the site builder. SiteOrigin or Elementor will work well with Virtue. Really the future of WordPress is blocks and Gutenberg. This is what the new Kadence Theme is built focusing on. That’s going to provide you the cleanest, fastest results. You can still use a page builder, but our developer is trying to get the most out of WordPress core by utilizing tools and items that are already provided.
Let me know if that answers your questions or if you need anything else.
Thanks!
Chris

August 31, 2020 at 11:34 am #256087Hi Ben,
What’s confusing in the current Virtue tutorial is having instructions on using theme tools AND a page builder. Do I need to use both or one or the other? I often hear from developers I talk with that page builders put in a lot of gobbledy-goop code. I would like to work in a clean and efficient way and am more focused on usability and accessibility than flashy features or making something look perfect. Designing a page looks so easy to do using page builder, but am I building something I can troubleshoot easily? Can I hand it over to a back-end person to fix more complicated things without having to pay a lot for them to fix messy code?
My goal in using your product is to make functional sites that are clean and beautiful and relay the right message. I’d like to work with programmers and back-end experts and not hand them over anything with crazy code.
At this moment I’m trying to figure out how to put a mosaic gallery at the bottom of the current website I’m working on. I don’t always understand how to populate the widgets I’m assigning to my home page.
Long story shorter (lol) how do I work with gallery widgets? Are they posts? Sorry to be so vague about what I need in a tutorial.
I love your themes and tools. They’re elegant and I can see you also care about usability and accessibility. Thanks so much for asking for feedback. Hope this isn’t too confusing.
AngelaIn forum: Pinnacle ThemeHello,
You can specify specific pages with CSS when you inspect the elements in the body tag, and the drop down. That page has a class set to .postid-8961 and the drop-down as a custom id set so something like the following should work:
.postid-8961 > span#select2-tmcp_select_15f4d26a455ca9-container { display: inline!important; }I put that in your custom CSS box in the Theme Options and it looks to be working. Let me know if that’s what you’re looking for or if you have any further questions or concerns.
Thanks!
Chris

In forum: Kadence ThemeTopic: Mobile Anchor Link
August 31, 2020 at 9:15 am #256079Hi,
I have an anchor link set in the menu for “Contact” so it just scrolls to the bottom of the page for the contact form. It works fine on desktop, but not on mobile. I tried to find settings and even asked in FB group, but no luck. The website is Hawk & LaurelThank you!
ShalaIn forum: Membership ForumsAugust 31, 2020 at 5:14 am #256061Hey,
You can use an element and then run the shortcode in PHP. And there are ways to define a block template in PHP but this is only for skeleton structure and not to define a page.
Ben
In forum: Virtue ThemeHi there
I have set the Page Title Settings Show Page Title [Hide], and even so, the title is showing. I am using the Default Template, and the theme settings for Page Options is Show page title by default.
I added the following CSS (from another topic on this forum) and that didn’t work either. The Page is post.php?post=2
.page-id-2 .entry-title{
display:none;
}What am I doing wrong?
Thanks, Mary 🙂
In forum: Membership ForumsAugust 30, 2020 at 6:50 pm #256051Thanks for the update.
For anyone coming across this topic in the future, Page Titles can be disabled on a Page-by-Page basis by editing the Page, clicking Page Settings button in the top right then Page Title > DISABLE.
In forum: Membership ForumsTopic: media plugins not updated
On a several of my sites where I am using your themes, some media organizing plugins are not be updated. Here are the two:
Media File Manager *Login to see link (not updated since 2012 possibly)
Enhanced Media Library Pro *Login to see link *Login to see link (last update 2018)I am starting to have problems with Media File Manager.
I have messaged Enhanced Media Library and await reply on status of plugin. If I need to change to another media organizing plugin, what one do you recommend? This will be probably a lot of work since so many of my sites have these plugins and don’t know how the media files will react if I deactivate and uninstall. Your input appreciated.

I suggest using this plugin to make reusable blocks and then inserting them with a shortcode built into the plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/reusable-blocks-extended/

In forum: Kadence ThemeTopic: Product pagination
August 30, 2020 at 12:33 am #256007Hi!
I can’t find color settings for product pagination in the customizer?
Now I got black on black for current page and it doesn’t look good. 🙂
I had to edit by custom css. But if there is a setting I’d rather use that. Thanks,
BenA
In forum: Membership ForumsRunning a local install. The top of my Easy Digital Download page has an empty space. When I inspect, it shows me the header element.
<header class="entry-header page-title title-align-inherit title-tablet-align-inherit title-mobile-align-inherit"></header>
I am new to both EDD and the Kadence Theme. I can add to the Checkout page via the theme, but the space remains. The Header in the Customizer just allows me to adjust the Navigation (white background).
I can not find where to add content. Attached Pics. Thanks.
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Buttons under slider….
Hi!
Here is my sample page: *Login to see link
1. How do I change the color of the slider buttons so they show up?
2. Also, originally when I made these sliders, I didn’t like the buttons showing up on the image, so I cropped the images to avoid them. Now I am realizing, can I move the buttons so they show up below the image instead?
Thanks!!!
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Youtube shortcode
Ben,
Thanks for clarifying that the Youtube shortcode does not work for playlists. I mostly post playlists so this must be the root of the problem.
Your css worked to fix the distorted videos on this page: http://www.johngrahamtours.com/easter-bana-monastery/
So for setting the max width that a video will display, do I use something like this under the video container css?
max-width: 600px;
I tried that but it isn’t displaying yet on the videos on the homepage: http://www.johngrahamtours.com The videos are still at about 1000px wide, probably because the container is 100%?
Best, John
In forum: Virtue ThemeThe page I am inserting is… https://www.ahyoudmd.com/office-info/ When show it it is okay. I also inserted the shortcode to insert the page on another page, [insert page=’office-info’ display=’content’] and it also did not display correctly but when I showed the page by it self it is okay.
This Style code is in the middle, not sure why it is present. With this included it breaks the section into 2 columns. This is not present when the page /office-info/ is displayed by itself and not included with insert page shortcode.
