    Hannah,

    I would like to try your advice. I want to create something like the slider at the bottom of this page: https://www.steppestravel.com/blog/understanding-overtourism/

    In that slider, there are the following elements:
    1. a large horizontally cropped image that fills most of the screen;
    2. a small found portrait image of the author;
    3. text of various sizes and fonts
    4. a horizontal line
    5. a “read more” link with a line graphic underneath that changes when hovering
    6. arrows that point right/left to additional posts. Those posts are smaller in vertical size, and grayed out, until they are clicked.

    I don’t need all these features, but it does look quite professional.

    I like the idea of putting this in the site wide footer area, because I would like this slider to contain information about upcoming tours that I am trying to sell, and if this appears on every page and post on the entire site, that would be great. Right now, it is still difficult for users to find all of my tours.

    Hey Hannah,

    I’m still confusing about the H1 and H2 titles.
    In my Page settings as well as Blog settings, I’ve noticed:

    Post title HTML tag output.
    This is used for SEO purposes in case you want an h1 tag further down your post content H1 (ok so the Post title at the top of a post is seen as H1).

    The Title on the Home Page Header, where can I see if it is H1 or H2 (how google sees it) the Title? and the subtitle? – I attach a print screen

    Hi Ben, Hanna and team,
    Mark here…have a client who we did a Kadence Ascend Premium and we did two header designs. Siteorigin inside.

    They want to put one on the home page but use the other for a specific category.

    How can I achieve a different header for that. What’s best way.

    Thanks!

    Hey Hannah,

    The images of various posts on my Destinations page (snippets of posts) are not the same size. I assume it is the future images showing. How can I get them all to appear neatly in a line next to each other?

    What size must I make the future images and how does a person get them exactly 500 x 500? On some, it is working but others for example is 500 x 332? I need them to look neatly if you can please advise me.

    Thanks

    Hi Hannah,

    Returning briefly to this question of ways to tag, categorize, or otherwise organize different types of pages (not posts), I have a follow up question for you.

    What I would like to do is create ways for users to browse or search for different kinds of tours on http://www.johngrahamtours.com. Other websites allow users to look for or click words like “cultural tours” “botany tours” “hiking tours” “pilgrimage tours” “fall tours” “spring tours” “Armenia tours” “Ethiopia tours” etc.

    So what is the best way to do this? I thought maybe applying tags or categories to each tour Page would do the trick. Then I could create menus like I currently have in the footer of http://www.johngrahamtours.com or I could add a Tag Cloud to a sidebar, or a “Tour Type” dropdown menu from the Primary Menu. It seems to me that this should be an easy thing to do.

    But in WordPress, tags and categories seem designed for Posts. Also, I don’t find that Tag clouds are very elegant. In fact, they are kind of irritating to the eye, with different size fonts, etc.

    I think my users would appreciate a cleaner, more simple, and intuitive menu experience where they could choose from different types of tours. On clicking a tour type such as “Fall Tours”, I would like the website to generate a page with all relevant tour pages.

    What do you recommend?

    I suggest you not use the theme options for this. I suggest you turn off the home slider area, then within the page content you can add a row layout block and the buttons you want. The row layout block has option for you to change the background image for mobile and customize the padding, etc.

    You can even use two blocks and hide one on desktop and one on mobile.

    Hello,

    I’m trying to create css styles for the tab headers on pages like this:

    I read this:

    I understand how to open the SiteOrigin Page Builder, modify the [tabs] rubrics and add text. But when it comes to styling anything, I’m at a loss. I want the header titles of each tab, arranged next to each other at the top of the dropdown tab section, to be highlighted or at least have their backgrounds change color on hover. The “Attributes” section of SiteOrigen Page Builder allows users to modify css, but after inserting some tryout css there, it didn’t affect my page. So I don’t know if that is the correct place or method of changing the css.

    Ben,

    I see Page Builder again, thank you!

    Also, the parallax image is restored, how did you do it?

    Thanks!

    I recently moved some domains around and now in wp- I cannot edit my homepage slider or mobile slider. The option is not available under theme options.

    Ben,

    That does not seem to be working. We are using this shortcode on the page [staff_posts orderby=date link=true items=30 columns=3 height=200 group=board]

    Hey,
    Try adding this to your custom css:

    .page-id-945525 ul.kpt-table-area>li {
        float: none;
        margin: auto;
    }

    Hope it helps!

    Do you mean the logo image? Sorry, there isn’t a functionality for that. The logo image is meant to link to the homepage.

    Ben,

    We want to change the staff excerpt length that is being outputted on a page showing the staff grid using shortcodes.

    Is there a function that we can use to do this?

    thanks
