In reply to: Portfolio order
December 9, 2019 at 9:14 pm #241892Hey,
For clarification, In your page settings for the portfolio grid template, you can choose “date” instead of menu order in the order by options and that will show the most recent first.2. It’s not an option within the theme to add an external link in the portfolio post archives. You could add in custom support for that by overriding templates and adding a meta box where you added the external link to each post meta settings but it would require custom coding and management of extra metaboxs and overriding theme templates.
3. The latest updates to Kadence Blocks Pro makes the testimonial posts accessible in the post grid block.

Thanks, Hannah – that looks great on that page. Many thanks.
Please could you see if you can do the same for the left-facing one on this page: http://solora.amweb.nz/homecare/
Cheers,
Phil.In forum: Ascend ThemeDecember 9, 2019 at 6:40 pm #241890Hi Hannah
there is no sidebar on the home page, off in Theme Options > Home Page Layout.
Theme Options>Blog settings>Choose a Default Sidebar for your Single blog post set to ‘primary sidebar’.
the client want the normal sidebar for any single or archive page posts.
BUT
they want an ‘Interesting Posts’ category displayed on the blog page using the ‘blog sidebar’ sidebar.
i created a blog page using the blog template and assigned the sidebar to be ‘blog sidebar’ it works as expected until you assign the blog page in Appearance>Customize>Home Page Settings when it reverts to the default behavior of displaying the Primary Sidebar. the page still shows the ‘blog sidebar’ assigned to it.
damn edge cases :-/
i knew about the archive plugin, but would be a nice thing to have in your widget when you have time to embroider 😉
regards
chris
this only happens on the page assigned to be the blog page

So it’s just your homepage that you’re not seeing the elementor content? Do you have page content enabled in the homepage layout manager (theme options > home layout)?
I’m not sure how this relates to your page speed…I sent you a link to a page speed post in your other thread.Hannah

December 9, 2019 at 2:08 pm #241878Hey,
In each page you should see options to turn off amp in the page settings (near the bottom meta box area).There is a filter you can use as well but if it’s just for a page you can turn off there easier.
Can you send a link so I can see what might be creating the issue with amp?
Ben

On this testimonials page : *Login to see link
I have this shortcode :
[kad_testimonial_form name_label=”Nom et prénom” testimonial_label=”Commentaires” location_label=”Adresse mail” submit_label=”Envoyer” success_message=” Merci d’avoir proposé votre témoignage ! How can I make this button visible ?

December 9, 2019 at 1:26 pm #241872Hi Hannah,
Yes, I have the Elementor plugin installed and used it on home and other pages – I wasn’t aware of the problems using Elementor on Ascend theme.
Now, what does that mean, do I have to remove Elementor? Have you read the info on it (see info above).

Please see info below. I’ve used elementor – now what?
Subject: [WordPress.org Forums] [Ascend] Doesn’t work with Elementor
Kadence tools are great. However, the Base Demo home page does not work with Elementor Page Builder (free version). All the other versions work fine. And Kadence Blocks does nothing to change the layout! Nothing shows up on the home page editor.

In forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: Homepage Not Changing
Hi,
In addition to all to the above,- I carried out a completely fresh install
on a sub-domain and then
- imported the Demo content
which all went absolutely fine with no issues at all. However, the very first thing I attempted to do was to change the ‘Home Page’ to the ‘About Us’ page and Publish the change, BUT this did not work, it remained as the original ‘Home Page’ – Please advise, thank you.
In forum: Ascend ThemeHey Chris,
Can you link to where your sidebar is being overridden? If it’s the homepage, you need to set that in Theme Options > Home Page Layout.
For yearly archives, you can use a plugin like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/anual-archive/
Hope that helps!Hannah
In forum: Ascend ThemeTopic: Homepage Not Changing
Hi,
I’ve gone into Appearance> Customise> Homepage Settings, then selected ‘A static page’, I then selected the ‘About Us’ page and then clicked ‘Publish’, BUT for some reason or another my website http://www.myocdlife.co.uk continues to display the previous page, so I went into Pages and Deleted the old page, I also went into Trash and ‘Permanently deleted’ the old page, BUT despite deleting the old page it still displays as my Homepage instead of the ‘About Page’! I’ve cleared all caches and cookies on my computer using both Googles settings and to be sure CCleaner, I then restarted both my Computer and my Router which had absolutely no effect, so I made all Plugins inactive and reinstalled both the Ascend Theme and WordPress core files, again all of this has had absolutely no effect, Please Advise, thank you.In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: critical error in site health

ERROR: [] cURL error 56: Failure when receiving data from the peerIn forum: Virtue ThemeHi Guy’s
I am experiencing something very bazaar.
On this site – *Login to see link I have set the site up using Elementor page builder. I have also put the virtue social links in the Topbar widget. But… when I hover over any of the icons. It pushes the first row of content all the way to the right of the screen. This happens on every page.
I’ve added the css to have the links display on the right.
.topbar-widget .virtue_social_widget {
text-align: right;
}
.topbar-widget .virtue_social_widget a {
float: none;
display: inline-block;
}but it still does this with or without the above css.
Any suggestions please?

December 8, 2019 at 10:57 pm #241833Is there a hook or a filter that I can set to disable amp on certain pages or a way to redirect missing amp pages, I have custom page “Press” that is being used for posts, amp is not showing that page just blank screen and I would like to just not show the amp version of that page.
Thanks
In forum: Ascend ThemeDecember 8, 2019 at 9:45 pm #241832Hi
when i set the blog page sidebar to a new sidebar (blog sidebar) it still only shows the default primary sidebar. i can use the blog sidebar everywhere else. if i create a new page using the blog sidebar with the blog template it works, but once i add it to the Home Page settings as the blog page it reverts to the primary sidebar.
also, the client would like to have the blog archive widget by year and not monthly.

In forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: Top bar alignment on mobile
December 8, 2019 at 8:03 pm #241831Hi Hannah,
thanks for the code, but it didn’t solve the problem. It made the icons clickable, but they’re linking back to the homepage, not to the links specifically assigned for each icon.
I’ll try to explain it a bit better. I assigned one external link for each icon at the “Mobile Top Icons” section in Theme Options. The Whatsapp icon, on the other hand, was added through the Mobile Top Icon Bar Widget Area and also sends to a specific external link. They all work fine and direct to the correct links if I don’t add any custom css. When I add the initial css Ben sent, the icons are simply no longer clickable. I try to click on them and nothing happens. If I erase the css, they work fine again, each icon sending to its own assigned link. The css Ben sent worked perfectly for the alignment, but for some reason broke the icons’ function as hyperlinks. I need them to both aligned and functioning.
Is there a way of making this work?
Thanks!
