hank you very much
AngeloIn forum: Ascend ThemeSorry, here is more. Also with a Category type (page), you can’t change the location of the products. If I include a description, it always precedes the list of products. Whereas, with a “standard” page, I can put the product list anywhere I want. Also there seems to always be a sidebar that is shown on a category page, that I can’t seem to get rid of or change it’s location. I’m sure there is some box I’m missing to check or un-check somewhere, to disable it or change its location, but haven’t found it yet.
In forum: Ascend ThemeA followup question. Should I be using “Categories” as pages? Under “description” I see the following:
“The description is not prominent by default; however, some themes may show it.”
I’ve discovered they are handled quite a bit differently than a “normal” page. For example, when I tried to add the categories as “Secondary Navigation” menu items, the entire category description was displayed in the secondary menu, which was quite ugly! It does not do that as a submenu item in the “Primary Navigation.” However, I just tested it and if a category is a main menu item (and not a submenu) it too will also display the entire category description on the Primary Navigation location.
The category seems to be advantageous for attaching products to, but not for displaying them in one location. I’ve played around with creating a page that looks like a category and introduced shortcodes, e.g.
[product_category category=”Batting Cages” orderby=”menu_order” order=”asc” columns=”3″]
But from a layout/SEO/keyword/search approach, is it better to create a new page for each category? Thanks. /Bob

November 23, 2019 at 10:36 am #241051Okay, so I am trying to figure this out with rather little success.
Basically, what I would love is to have on my home page is 2 “Latest Post” sections (but with one rendering as “Trending Posts” by using the category selector allowing me to control the content).
The reason for this is that I really like the format that is provided by the “Latest Blog Posts” feature (theme options/home layout/homepage layout manager). It is so easy in that it just pulls all the correct information in a nice format.
I have attached a cut n’ paste image to explain what I mean.
Note: I don’t want to lose the ability to add additional blocks (I plan to add an “About Us” info block to my homepage).
Is there an easy way to do this?

Since the sidebar consists of widgets, how can either an anchor or Kadence Tab block link to a widget or another page? I see that the Tab block has a Tab anchor option as well as the usual anchor option. Not certain how to use it for a widget or page link.

I tried to disable the select2 setting in the theme but I didn’t note any changes in the site, where it is used? I checked the source of html page and even dsabling it both the css and js are still there.
thank you very much

November 22, 2019 at 9:50 pm #241036Hi, at the bottom of this page *Login to see link I used a 3 columns page-builder row with a ASCEND: recent post widget.
I needed to put a bottom margin of 250px otherwise the result was an overlapping with the footer area… see the image before the fix

Hi Ben,
I see that this has now been included (thanks!). Is there something I’m suppose to be turning on?
If I’m reading it correctly it should just pick up the shop archive settings. We have no sidebar on the brand pages.

November 22, 2019 at 3:57 pm #241027Hi,
i am not able to add more items to my accordions. The button for adding a new pane is not responding.
Is this a known bug? What can i do? I already cleared the cache and disabled all other Plugins.Im using WordPress 5.3 with Kadence 1.7.6.
I don’t use any other PageBuilder. In forum: Ascend ThemeTopic: Banner too big on refresh
Hi Team,
On Dogs101, I’ve set the header to shrink and stick. The “Header Center Start Height” is set to 170px.
After a page refresh however, the header height is 297px – which obscures some of the picture behind it. This happens for all pages.
Please can you see what I’m doing wrong?
Thanks,
Phil.In forum: Membership ForumsIn reply to: Sidebar position on mobile view
Yes, you could do that. Which editor are you working in? You could add a link with your anchor at the top of the page content area, then use css to hide it on non-mobile devices.
This post explains how to set this up: https://kinsta.com/blog/anchor-links/
I would be happy to give more insight once I know which editor you’re working in.Hannah

Hannah,
That addresses the summary on the blog page, but on the Home page, it still shows a blank image placeholder. Is there another setting that affects that?
Here’s the URL: https://www.rebeccagallagher.com/

Hey Tara,
You can use the home widget area or your static homepage to add title text, then add your posts via shortcode. You can see a full list of shortcodes here: http://docs.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/shortcodes/
Would that work for you?Hannah

November 22, 2019 at 1:25 pm #241015My home page currently leads with “Latest Blog Posts”. Is there a feature where I can add something that looks similar called “Trending Posts” where I can customize the content?
Thanks.

I can save in regular posts, pages, and theme options. and sometimes in a few other places but that has been very random.

I’ve used this theme twice before, but I’m not having much luck getting this theme to work for me this time.
I’ve always used the Slider Revolution in the past, but this time I’m using the Kadence Slider. I followed instructions in Kadence about displaying the Kadence Slider on the front page. I created one picture in the Kadence Slider area (see attached) and then went into Theme Options>Home Slider… I chose Kadence Slider Pro…Saved… went into the Widget area and pasted the shortcode. But, the slider is not working. What am I doing wrong?
