October 29, 2019 at 12:26 am #239643Hey,
In regard to classic editor support, There have been dates put out by different people, in the end, the main developers of WordPress have said the classic editor will be supported as long as people are using it, even if they decide to change that later it would be supported by other developers. In regard to images, I think it’s first important that you remember this if you have already read it or if you haven’t that you take a look:
https://www.kadencewp.com/blog/background-image-sizing/
Backgrounds are handled completely differently than an image when it comes to what a responsive background means compared to a responsive image they are not the same thing. As a general rule if an image is “content” or requires that the user see the entirety of the image for it to work in the design is it not a background, and thus should probably not be added as a background.
You still have login credentials and the test page is Test.
Please always always post the login in the topic, just add a private reply.
I wish there were some sort of outline of the blocks that were visible so you could see where your were.
You should install the Gutenberg plugin so you get access to the latest updates, they’ve improved this (although its still far from perfect and still a totally different style of editing then something like pagebuilder).
PageBuilder is so much easier.
Then I suggest you use it. It’s not like it’s going away it has a huge user base and if you prefer it why change. I think for places where you are creating new content then easy into the block editor, there is no need to force it in if you don’t like it.
Second row still does not fit below the first row
I’m not sure I understand what you mean. I’m attaching a screen shot of what I’m seeing.

I went ahead and published the test page.
https://www.cagesplus.com/test/
After publishing the edit page looks a bit different too. Second row still does not fit below the first row, so I am not sure I can edit it or insert any row between 1 & 2.

Editing on my iMac Pro is difficult. For some reason the row overlap and I can’t seem to get to the correct one. For example, on the Text page I changed the two horizontal rows with single row layouts. I then was able to insert a space divider. However now I can’t get between the first row and the second row. Notice on the screen shot the second single row is on top of the previous row when I try to edit it. The navigation is
row layout > single column (and some rows and columns)
row layout > six columns (with image overlays and other stuff)
However, notice that the second row lays on top of the first row and I can’t add a row below the first row or insert.
There should be some white space after the first row so I can see and edit or change the second row, but it lays on top of the background image. See the screen shots. This is on my iMac Pro.

What I find very frustrating using blocks is not being able to find where to edit the blocks or insert them. I cannot find the up/down arrow nor the dots to help move the blocks, at least not on my iMac Pro. If I want to add a block to an existing row or anywhere for that matter, I cannot find out where to put the cursor to insert it.
And it is very difficult on my desktop, which is a windows machine.
I wish there were some sort of outline of the blocks that were visible so you could see where your were. Or if you could use the block navigation to be able to drag blocks around and move them. But editing/moving/inserting them is very cumbersome/difficult/impossible!
PageBuilder is so much easier. /Bob
In forum: Ascend ThemeHi Team,
Please could you help with a fix?
I have set the pageheader background-image for a post, but I need to reposition it below the menu header.I have tried using the CSS:
.single-post div#pageheader {background-position: 0px 100px !important; This moves the background-image down but then cuts off the bottom. Is it possible to move it down and re-size it, whilst still retaining the responsive properties?
Thanks,
Phil.In forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: RESPONSIVE IMAGES
The test page is a draft page and not published. I didn’t want to generate a url. The login credentials are still valid I sent a few days ago. You can log in and preview the test page.
No I am not familiar with the spacing block. I’ll look into it.
For the PageBuilder page I am using the image in the SiteOrigin Hero as the background. For the Test page, the image is set as a background image in the row layout using the background setting tab. BTW, it would be nice to have the image name displayed and/or a small image of it displayed when you hover over the “select image” as it does in SiteOrigin Hero.

I tried to add more photos to the basic slider (home page header), but they don’t show up on the page, even though I saved them. And they’re not in the order listed either. I had 10 up there, I save changes multiple times. Now the slider is no longer there or the photo.

In forum: Virtue ThemeThese errors occur with a combination of three facts:
1. This only appears on woocommerce pages
2. Only when using the Elementor theme designer
3. Only when using Virtue themesThe combination of these facts leads to the fact that scripts are run 2 times
caldera-forms is also used on other pages, but no errors

I feel like an idiot. I can’t figure out how to change the photos on my home page. Not the galleries, but the top slider (starting with the sunset pic). Where do I go to make changes to the photos. I can’t seem to find them.

In forum: Ascend ThemeHi there,
I’ve tried everything (of course I haven’t, but I’ve tried to try everything!) and can’t sort the problem I’m having with rows of products bunching up on top of one another. Screenshot attached. I’m using a child of Ascend, and everything is up-to-date.
Can someone see what I am missing?
Thanks, Valerie

Question on getting images to be responsive.
On my home page, where I’m using Pagebuilder. I have a SiteOrigin Hero widget with a background image. I have some text I place in the image and a button
see: *Login to see link
I am testing Blocks as well. And trying to mimic the page above. I created a test page with a single column row layout, inside which is a row layou with two horizontal columns. Inside the first horizontal column are two advanced heading blocks. Inside the second horizontal column is another advanced heading. I did this for spacing and I could not get the spacing to mach my SiteOrigin Hero. Maybe there is a better way as I can’t seem to control the spacing using blocks like I can with PageBuilder.
The problem is in both cases, PageBuilder and Blocks, the images don’t shrink when the page is made to an iPad or iPhone size. I read somewhere about doing something like “max-width:100%” for responsive images in css, but not sure how to do that in Blocks or PageBuilder. I had hoped it would not take custom css and would be automatic.
You still have login credentials and the test page is Test.
Oh, by the way, in an earlier post I had mentioned that the classic editor was going away in 2020. You said it wasn’t, but I found an article by wpbeginners, not sure if they are connected with WordPress or not that it was going away in 2022. Here is the link:
I also uploaded a bit of the content.

October 28, 2019 at 11:20 am #239610Hi Hannah
I have just been back onto https://dev.aecb.net/aecb-expert-advisors/ and first time round Mark Elton was coming up for both himself and Mark Siddell, I then went back in and the 2 Marks are OK but Steven Fawkes is coming up for Peter Warm. Refresh again and Mark Elton is coming up for Eric Parks. It appear to be continually changing and totally random. That is on Firefox, but I am getting the same randomness on Chrome (which I have not used to visit the page before).
It needs more than just clearing a cache. Is there a way of fixing the ID?
Mandy

We have a site with Ascend Premium theme. We are using Page builder by SiteOrigin to format pages. We have a page of advisors. Each advisor has their own column with an Ascend Image widget containing a mugshot and title and a SiteOrigin Editor widget containing a [kad_modal] shorcode for a short bio and image.
The problem is that some of the “More” buttons are bringing up the wrong bio and that it appears to be happening randomly. We have checked the page and everything looks OK with the bios against the right people.
Looking at the page source, it appears that some of the modals share the same id and it seems that these are the ones that are being mixed up. Do you think this is likely to be the issue?
Do you have any suggestions on what the issue is and how it might be sorted out?
Thank you

October 28, 2019 at 9:02 am #239601Hey,
You are using a “fullwidth” button. The button is forced to be the width of the page so aligning it doesn’t change because it’s already filling the whole space there is nowhere to align to.In your button settings set the width to “auto”
