In reply to: Text overlapping in Kadence Slider
Hi Ben,
Thanks so much; I appreciate your note about the responsive design–it makes total sense. I also agree that i’m burying some of the content by putting it in a slider, but the page would be so busy and long if I tried to stack each animal and its related information, and I liked the visual impact of just one animal at a time against the white background. If there’s a different option other a long list or slider, i’m open to it.I tried out Brizy but found that I couldn’t retain my original template since it wanted me to completely rebuild the page through its own interface. But Site Origin seems to have done the trick! I’m still finding the navigation a little clunky, but it does exactly what I needed it to for mobile, thanks to your guidance. If I have questions about the Site Origin slider, can I address them here, or do I need to head to a different forum?
Thank you again, so much. I’m really happy to have found a solution (in case you wanted to check it out, the updated page with site origin slider is now here: http://wildlifetraffickingalliance.org/staging/?page_id=2796 )

In your theme options > page title, you can set the “Page Header background Overlay Opacity”Ben
In forum: Virtue ThemeJuly 11, 2019 at 10:17 am #230554Hello,
I just added the following CSS to make the content full width as I wanted my main menu to be full width.
}
.container {
width: 100%;
}Problem is that:
the blog page (*Login to see link
post pages (*Login to see link
Woo commerce pages (*Login to see link
are all full widths as well. I would like to keep them contained but at the same time to have the main menu full width.
Can you please help?Thanks a lot
CeciliaIn forum: Ascend ThemeHi there,
I’m trying to set a full-width image header on the ‘about us’ page on an in-development client site. On the home page, I achieved this with the Kadence Slider Pro, with only one image. (With one slight issue, which I’ll describe below.)On the ‘about us’ page, I tried to use a full-width image module, as mentioned in a thread I found on this support forum. However, there’s white padding above it, and whilst the source image is 1280px wide, it’s being displayed at 1109px wide. The site’s not live so I can’t show you, but I’m attaching two screen shots – one of the left-justified, constrained image, and one of the page source code behind that element, in case that’s enough to troubleshoot. (I’d like for there to be no white space between the top of the image and the secondary menu above it, as is the case with the Kader Slidence Pro homepage header; is that possible?)
Additionally, when I first load any page on the site (including but not limited to the homepage with the single-image Kadence Slider Pro), a gap often appears between the secondary menu and the page header, or between the secondary menu and the hero image on the homepage. It disappears on page refresh, when I use View Page Source, or recently by itself, after a second or two.
I’m attaching two screen shots for that too – you can see one with the white gap between the secondary menu and page header, and one without. (The gap disappeared by itself a second or two after the page first loaded.)
Thanks in advance!

I need to change the opacity of “Home Image Slider” photo to 0.
I have chosen the “Page Title” in drop down and left the “Home Page title” and “Home Page SubTitle” Blank.
Here is a link to the homepage as well.
How can I fix it?

Can you post a link so I can see how you have things configured?
If using a static homepage, you can add a row to the bottom of your page. Just keep in mind the image will not show if there is not content in the row. You will need to add a widget (such as the call to action widget) into the row where you have set a background image. If you’re using a widget area you can do this using the layout builder widget.Hannah

Hi, Hannah,
Yes, I’m using SiteOrigin Pagebuilder. And yes, I did that, but image is not coming up….and I don’t have a place to put text.
Strange. Because of my layout, I want it just above the footer. So, I’ve tried placing in Above Footer Widget location….and Home Page Widget location. I have checked the Home Page Widget on Theme Options> Home Page Layout. But nothing is working.
What am I missing? Very strange.
Thank you,

July 10, 2019 at 3:57 pm #230484Hey,
I’m about to push an update with some tweeks in regards to archives for that plugin. How are you wanting it to display on a single event?I suggest using the “default events template”.
then if you want the page title area it will default to “events” but you can also edit that right in your single event under the title area settings. You can do things like change the background or add a subtitle there as well.

In forum: Ascend ThemeEvents Calendar single event view is not displaying event header title in default template – is this normal?
I am using Ascend Premium with child theme – I have set all page titles to display in Blog and Portfolio pages but the single events page just has a huge space at the top.
I switched to the Events template and it then just says Events at the top – so I’ve had to remove the Title completely from the Blog settings.
Does the Default Ascend Page Template work with the Events Calendar plugin?

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Custom post/featured image
Good afternoon,
I just changed a website template to Virtue (looks much better now!), but I’m having an issue with custom posts not showing featured image for an event calendar (Espresso Event calendar). According to the plugin author, the single page posts are custom post pages, and this feature must be activated through the theme. I have checked the Virtue blog options, and “image” is selected. Is there a way to force this to show the featured image through the theme settings?Thanks.
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Mobile Kadence Slider
Hello, I added the kadence slider on home page with a single image with added animated text. However, the slide is responsive in mobile, but the text is too small to read for phones. Is this when I should create a lightweight mobile slider for mobile visitors?
If so, I see the option in Mobile Slider, but how do I achieve this? Can I use the same one only shorter dimensions? If so, what dimensions do you suggest would be best for phones?

Thank you!

July 10, 2019 at 9:31 am #230449I’m fine if the page doesn’t resize, and mobile users just have to zoom in. Is that okay?
Well, I would tell you no it’s not ok, like I said you will get dinged in search results, removed for not being responsive and for your mobile traffic you are not serving them good content designed in a way that best fits their viewing screen.
If you feel you have to go forward with this then I suggest you place all the text inside an image like in photoshop or some image editing software and then just upload that image, don’t use any text layers. That at least will prevent Google from removing your listing in search results because it won’t be seeing that as content that is to small to read. Still, though that is again not serving your viewers.
I personally suggest you rethink the design, There are responsive ways to show this kind of content where it gracefully changes layout for mobile by adding columns. Like Image in the right column text in the left then image above or below on mobile.
In terms of making that a slider I don’t recommend it because it’s burying a lot of important content off the screen and that much content shouldn’t require the viewer to have to seek through slides to find out what is there. In terms of usability, for example, the user shouldn’t have to click slide navigation hoping to find the information about tigers without any indication that it may or may not be there.
Anyway, those are my recommendations. But if you are staying the course I suggest an image, that at least that will prevent your site from being labeled not mobile friendly by search engines.
If you want a slider and would consider a two column layout you could look at a pagebuilder, brizy offers a built-in slider feature for rows of content, site origin offers a Layout Slider widget where you can build things out in rows with columns.
