In forum: Ascend ThemeJune 5, 2018 at 11:13 am #192181Hi I’ve upgraded to Ascend premium and my Homepage (slider) look different
The words in the background are dark and not sliding. Can I change it to look same as in free theme?

Your second post is correct. Once the thumbnails are regenerated, your page speed should be where it was before. I’m not sure if loading the page will make it regenerate the thumbnails anymore quickly though.
I’m sure comet cache is a fine plugin. For more tips, we have a great post on how to improve site speed here:
https://www.kadencewp.com/need-for-speed/And for optimizing images, this guide should come in handy:

In forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: Product Image Aspect Ratio & Load Speed
Thank you, Kevin. When you say it’s going to take a while for the first load, do you mean the first time the pages are ever loaded, anywhere, such that if we go through an load all the pages ourselves, then from then on they will all be fast again for everyone everywhere? Or do you mean it will be slow for anyone, the first time they load the page?
When you refer to using caching, do you mean by way of a plugin like Comet Cache? If so, is that the one you recommend, or do you have a different recommendation?
In forum: Ascend ThemeMy client complains that when he switches Product Image Aspect Ratio to from 1:1 to Variable, his category pages take an inordinately long time to load. I have tested and confirmed this.
The preference is currently set back to 1:1, but he’d prefer Variable, if we can get the load time back down. What can you suggest?
In forum: Virtue ThemeHello,
I would like to have the same menu on mobile as on the computer screen. That it adapts to the size of the screen.
I only have one page, so I would like that on the mobile there is only the button of this page and not the menu button then the button of my page. Thanks in advance. In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Full Width Home Page Widget
Sorry it’s me again. Since implementing the CSS, the home page on most occasions doesn’t load properly. There is padding between the top and the video and the images underneath (buttons) don’t display. When I refresh the page they do appear fine. Any ideas whey this might be? I need to improve the user experience. Or is it just something affecting me? http://www.bleisurerewards.co.uk
Thanks you

No…I just didn’t think the font was the same since the information (the form itself) is being generated from the functions.php page. But I assume its being inherited from the theme.
BTW: Can you provide the support link that discuses the how to set different images for different devices by using custom css?

In forum: Ascend ThemeI changed the code to [portfolio_types items=7]. It didn’t work. The example code shown in the shortcode doc is
[portfolio_types orderby=date columns=4 items=4 ratio=”square” style=”pgrid” childof=0 childcategories=false]
Not certain what to put in the text widget on the homepage.
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Woo archive: Main loop dont work
June 4, 2018 at 5:38 pm #192140I see the the issue, you’re looking at bold theme, virtue pulls the results and order into the page title area which doesn’t show when your overriding the template with the template builder
I’ll push out an update with an option into the main loop to force in the results and order.

In forum: Ascend ThemeIn forum: Ascend ThemeNo, I don’t have a cache running. And Yes, I still have the portfolio grid checked in Homepage layout for now. It looks like unchecking portfolio grid is best on homepage layout and adding the [portfolio_types] and image for the 7 categories with a link to either the portfolio and/or the shop. What widget do I use to insert the shortcode on the homepage?
He has 15 years of commissioned pieces and other products. So, the portfolio may have 100 images or more. If he wants them all there, it would be nice to separate the images by category. Or maybe could I do a slideshow per category?
The Shop will only have those items he is selling. Not certain how many yet.

Hi Ben,
<< “to be font tied to the site” means. >>
Sorry I wasn’t clear. The form looks like it is not using the same style sheet as the rest of the elements on the site. Do this (if you haven’t yet):
Go to the main page and near the bottom of the page you’ll see a text box and a button. Place any value in the text box and press “Submit Query”. The red message that comes back just doesn’t look like the rest of the font use on the site. I want it to look like the rest of the text on the site.
I’m just trying to be sure the button, the text box, and the error message all look like the rest of the site. Maybe you’ll tell me it is using the site’s style sheet, but it just looks like its not to me.

In forum: Ascend ThemeHello,
1. The portfolio can be used however you want. Think of it as a way to show what your client is capable of, such as previous works and acknowledgements. You can also disable in entirely if you please. There is no definitive way to use the portfolio, it’s totally up to you.
Portfolio posts and products are distinctly different though, and I do not advise building your store with portfolio posts.
2. I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking. You can display portfolio types by adding this shortcode to a page:
[portfolio_types]
You will need to assign each type a featured image. More shortcode options can be found here:
http://docs.kadencethemes.com/ascend-premium/shortcodes/3. It looks to me as though you have the portfolio enabled still in Theme Options> Home Page Layout> Portfolio Grid. Do you have a cache running on your site? be sure that you clear it after making changes or disable it entirely while developing your site.

Hi,
I have gone to the Menu that you say to me and I can see that the option is enabled, but it is not working… 🙁
>>Show toggle buttons for list/grid on shop page
Adds two icons for toggling between a grid and list layout on shop page. Thanks for your help!!!

In forum: Ascend ThemeWhat is the purpose/complement of the portfolio related to the Shop? I assume all the Shop children are there for the purpose of choosing a preferred layout, right?
Just trying to figure out how the portfolio page works to have one image per category with a link to a full portfolio or shop page of that category (maybe even create children under Portfolio for each media/product category. Possibly the same on homepage.
What is odd about the homepage is there are portfolio images there (portfolio template there), latest posts, featured products per checking “Homepage Layout Manager”. Yet when I go into homepage to edit, a portfolio widget isn’t there, nor is the latest posts or featured products; just info boxes and testimonial widget boxes. What am I missing here? Any ideas?
