Any idea why it’s doing that weirdness with grabbing the next available image on the home page? Or ignoring the setting to NOT use a default image?

I would need to know what plugin and look at code. I don’t see that you ever said the name of the plugin or I missed it.

Here is the css:

I could care less about ratios, size is all that matters. (There’s a joke in there somewhere!)

If I could do that with CSS I’d be quite happy. Would the miniaturized imaged left align like the plugin thumbnail does?

I was just being lazy when I found this plugin. It seemed to work great…until it didn’t. Any idea why it’s doing that weirdness with grabbing the next available image on the home page? Or ignoring the setting to NOT use a default image?

If you’ve got some of your magic CSS I guess I really don’t care.

Ben, I found where I can include the Featured Image with a post excerpt, either post by post or as an overall setting. But it embeds the full size image from the post, not a thunmbnail. If you take a peek at THIS PAGE you’ll see what the plugin allows me to do. Is there a way to do this within the theme? I’d much rather.

Hannah, I found ways to set the Post Summary to Default, Text, Portrait Image, and Landscape Image, but not to Full. Am I missing something?

You guys may need to call foul on this one, and I totally get it. I don’t think this plugin has been updated in about 8 years, but that’s why I’m seeing if you might have some ideas. There doesn’t appear to be a way to include a thumbnail (or any image) in a post excerpt which is why I went hunting for this plugin. It seems to work swimmingly as long as there actually is an image included with the post, although there is a Setting that gets added to specify a default image or tell it not to use a default image. On my home page with my post embed shortcode, however, something seems amiss. You can see it HERE.

It grabs the next image available on the page. If I delete that image, it grabs the next one. Very odd. When I initially said not to use a default image (under Settings) it worked, now suddenly it doesn’t. If you’re interested in taking a peek I’d be happy to provide Admin access.

I got your page to work by deactivating : WooCommerce Amazon Payments Advanced Gateway

Which seems to be out of date (this doesn’t update through wordpress unless you link your store since it’s not a “free” plugin).

I really think updating your php settings would help you a lot. But because your host didn’t provide any reason for why your site crashed when I used their tool to change settings I don’t want to recreate an issue.

thanks for the kind offer and great support. i will forge ahead to make up lost time , like I said it was a good lesson; I need to have fail-over plans and copies to allow DR with a live service. What was most peculiar and maddening was that this interaction only occurred between Pagebuilder and Virtue Premium: I tried 4 other themes all of which worked. What is also clear to me now is that building all of my pages using Pagebuilder layouts does leave a single point of failur.

I have set up my own little dev blog to force myself to document better and have a few simple DR plans in place

I’m new to the world of creating a website and pulling my hair out. I have the same problem as the original question. Is it possible to have the icon menu on the left of the top bar and a widget on the right with social media icons? (per the example in the link below – shows text menu but I can only see an icon menu on my settings page )

I have been trying to style the testimonial boxes on the testimonial grid page with no luck. Based on other posts in the support forums, I believe I am using the right CSS selectors, but nothing happens. Here is an example:

HI guys, I’m a bit confused now and I think I may have confused you too. I have 6 Albums and each album has 1 gallery in it. I wanted to display a page with the 6 albums in a grid form (3 x 2) so that when a user clicks the album image, it takes them to the gallery. The set up I want is shown exactly on the demo page for the gallery plugin

So is this demo page setup with 1 album containing 6 galleries or is it 6 albums with a gallery in each>

The staff posts by default don’t display the featured image. On our demo sites, the images are added to the page content. If you want to display all of your staff posts on a particular page, you can add this shortcode to any page’s text editor:
[staff_posts]

Hey,

You’re getting a lot of errors on your page. Have you tried testing your active plugins by deactivating one by one to see if the header works properly when a certain plugin is OFF?

Be sure to clear your cache each time.

to be clear I don’t think to many widgets was your issue. I was only guessing that having over 70 on a page would make the “post size” larger then 8mb which was your post size limit and so worth looking into. If you’ve increased that you shouldn’t have any issue with a lot of widgets.

It sounds like the page itself was corrupted possibly in the database. That could explain things.

I’m happy to spend a little time running a couple tests on your server to determine the issue and force the server to spit out some errors but I would need access to your cpanel as well as your site. It’s up to you if you want me to do that.
