In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Portfolio Page/Grid
April 20, 2016 at 12:14 am #91575Even if you just want to show the products I think you may be better off using actual product posts and not portfolio posts. Then you can still have prices if you like and the design and functions are all based on products unlike portfolio posts. You certainly don’t need to have the add to cart options. see here even for a catalog add-on for woocommerce: https://wordpress.org/plugins/yith-woocommerce-catalog-mode/
But of course you can use portfolio posts however you want as well. It’s just confusing if you don’t clarify what type of post it is since portfolio isn’t product.
In terms of add portfolio posts to your home page you can use the theme options > home layout.. there you can add the portfolio carousel or as a grid using portfolio full in the “home layout manager”. is that what you were looking for?

April 20, 2016 at 12:09 am #91574Hey,
In this post: http://blacklabelfightco.com/2016/03/30/ace-roscoe-sanchez/and in others where you use pagebuilder.
Make sure to add a custom excerpt so that wordpress doesn’t try to pull an excerpt from the pagebuilder content.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: polylang issue since update
April 19, 2016 at 11:02 pm #91555Hello again,
Now that I had finally narrowed down the issue, I found out from https://siteorigin.com/thread/conflict-btw-polylang-and-pagebuilder/
same issue occured between 2-6 months ago:
the solution was to uncheck in polylang settings:
Synchronization
Taxonomies
Custom fields UNCHECK this as Page Builder data is stored in a custom field.
Comment status
Ping status
Sticky posts
Published date
Post format
Page parent
Page template
Page order
Featured imageAlso someone remarked that not emptying trash if pages were sent there, cause issues with polylang if pages were created with the same name.
I had custom fields checked a while back and there were no issues, so one of the updates triggered the conflict but I am so relieved!
Note: Ben, somehow I saw your latest reply only just now, but you got it right!! Do you think that its safe to turn on locotranslate plugin again?

*Login to see linkIn forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: Footer Custom Menu Widget Format to Horizontal
April 19, 2016 at 11:41 am #91467You can add a footer menu that would do this in your apperance > menus page.
What column are you placing your widget in? can you post a link.

April 19, 2016 at 10:28 am #91451Hey
1. You’re not doing anything wrong, this was reported and there is an update coming out today which will let you choose the custom excerpt box.2. In your settings > pagebuilder make sure to enable pagebuilder for testimonial posts.

April 19, 2016 at 10:24 am #91448The only way I could see that working would be to upload the gif in the size needed for the post summary. So 370 width by whatever height. That would output the original file and make it work.

Hannah – I updated the theme, thanks for the tips!
Ben – that was it! I must have turned off that option when I first downloaded the theme, thinking I wouldn’t use it. I totally forgot about that.
Thanks so much for your help.
A couple additional questions:
1. I want to pick which excerpt shows up on the virtue: testimonial carousel on my home page. I looked back through the forums here and see that I should be able to control that through the excerpt box at the bottom of my testimonial post page. I have filled that in with what I want, but the testimonial widget is still showing the first line of the full page testimonial with a “Read more” link. Am I doing something wrong?2. Is there any way to use page builder for the testimonial post? I don’t see an option to do that. I would prefer to use 2 columns per testimonial on the full page displaying all testimonials – one for text and one for pictures. Is this possible?
Thanks again for your help.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Change Default Max Image/Slider Height
April 18, 2016 at 11:21 pm #91348I can’t tell you about the local site. It is written into the code to crop the images but I can add an option to turn that off. I’ll put that into the next update that is about to come out. So in the blog settings you’ll see an option to turn off crop for single post header image.

In forum: Virtue ThemeHi,
Is there a way to change the default Max Images/Slider Height for feature images as they appear on a single blog post page? I would like disable it, or set the maximum to such a height that none of my images are effected by it. I see the maximum height can be set for individual posts, under Standard Post Options, but it would be great to change the default for all posts. Would there be a way to do this with some coding on functions.php?
Previously, when I was only working locally, none of my blog posts had their featured images cropped, no matter how large they were. I don’t know why it’s changed now that my site is live, but just add that to the list of things I can’t explain about WordPress…
Thanks,
-Adam

You seem to be showing a sidebar (even if it’s empty it’s on) is that what you’re talking about? You can change the sidebar in each post.

April 18, 2016 at 7:36 pm #91328It wouldn’t/shouldn’t be animated in the post summary, the output should be a resized version of the file are you saying it used to be animated in the post summary?
