In forum: Virtue ThemeHi,
I am running WordPress 4.4.2 with the premium Virtue theme.Right now, the blog icons and preview images in the blog post list are not showing up. Also, the arrow icons for the kadence slider were not showing up – I just hacked those in with CSS when I could not figure out why there were no icons.
Here is an example:

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Primary Menu color
Hi,
I am experiencing similar problem. All actions you stated in this and other posts regarding menu font color changes work in my case for all other pages but not for my HOMEPAGE. I want the same menu setup (with transparent header, it should be allways WHITE-up or scrolled and tur to hover color when mouse pointer is over) on all pages including homepage, but It doesn’t work. Iĺl explain:1) HOMEPAGE – when I set the “Hover and Active Font Color” it changes all my menu items color in my homepage menu for THIS color forever – when still (scrolled up), while scrolling down, when I point it with mouse. No white color ever.
2) OTHER PAGES – everything is OK = it is WHITE both in upper position and when i scroll down and turns to “Hover and Active Font Color” just when i point there with my mouse.
How can this be solved?
Thanks for help!

What are you setting for the height in the shortcode?
It was set to 400. Adjusting to 450 corrected the issue.
But……
You should really consider just using the virtue carousel or blog grid shortcodes.
If there was any option in virtue to do the same thing, pull the latest blog posts to the bottom of any page I wanted, in the same way, I’d 100% prefer to do that.
How could the carousel or blog grid shortcode (I’m not familiar with either) be used to such an effect?

April 2, 2016 at 10:58 pm #88879I don’t get what I’m supposed to say here? I just told you that you have errors in your css. That you have brackets left open at the end as well as after server media queries.. And still on your site the issues are there. If those were fixed the css would work but it will never work in a css box with css that is broken above it.
Can you tell me what about my last post you tried? I don’t get it. Nothing needs tried just fix the css.

April 2, 2016 at 10:43 pm #88871and it would populate the video, title, description etc. automatically.
That isn’t something that this theme or any theme can do, it’s possible you could get a plugin that pulls all that information out but I’ve not seen one that placed that information into a wordpress post and saved to the database.
It’s something that is more then a template issue. you would have to query youtube to pull that information then save it in your page or depend on querying youtube with the same request anytime the page as loaded (which would require even more templates overridden).
I’m not aware of anyone doing this, in the way your suggesting.

Hi Simon,
1. I would recommend either setting your home page as the latest post page (settings > reading). Or else enable Latest Blog Posts in Theme Options > Home Layout. Sounds like you’re using the Virtue Recent Posts widget? That is designed for sidebars or footers.2. What do you have enabled in Theme Options > Home Layout?

Hi Mari-Lyn,
Sorry, not sure I’m totally following. Have you created a blog page? If so, you shouldn’t have a problem adding it to your menu (Appearance > Menus)? What exactly do you have set on Home Page in Settings > Reading? You can set your homepage as a latest post page from settings > reading. Just make sure Page Content is enabled in the homepage layout manager (Theme Options > Home Layout).
I see you’ve enabled the shopping cart in your menu. What else are you wanting exactly?
Sorry for not understanding.Hannah
In forum: Virtue ThemeHi Hannah and Ben,
I have two problems with which I need a little help:
1) I am probably missing something extremely obvious here, but I can’t get the posts grid working properly on my homepage. All I seem to get is a tiny thumbnail of the featured image that I have set, how do I (a) display a larger thumbnail, and (b) also display the title and a snippet of text, like on the Virtue demo homepage?
2) I have a weird box at the bottom of my homepage that changes colour when I hover over it and I have no idea what is causing it…I would like to get rid of it if possible! Can you see anything that might be causing this!?
When you reply I can private message you login details as maintenance mode is on at the moment.
Many thanks,
Simon

Hey Will,
I’m not entirely sure what you’re after. Have you tested with the Youtube shortcode? You can access it from the Virtue Shortcodes tab within the visual editor. Another option (and perhaps better) is to use the portfolio feature. When you create a new portfolio post you have the option to set it as a video post and then you can just paste in the video url.
Hope that’s helpful!Hannah
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Turning off theme pull-quotes option
I’ve just posted a blog entry, my first using teh Virtue pull-quotes.
http://www.ckmartialhearts.com/2015/12/31/ck-martial-hearts-2015-year-in-review/
As i said, I think in fact, the Virtue pull-quotes look better, and are much cleaner, than the plugin I was considering using. 🙂
‘Just’ having two ‘CK red’ quotations marks, one on either side, would make this feature perfect for us.
PS. Let me know when the website Kadence uses for beer money starts accepting Chinese credit cards! You guys deserve more beers! :p

In forum: Virtue ThemeHi there,
What I am after is a site where, say, five horse videos per day were posted. I would have 6-7 categories.
So I what I want to be able to do is just paste in the url of the video – mostly from YouTube – and it would populate the video, title, description etc. automatically.
I have investigated several plugins but they are clunky and or don’t work very well. Should I just build a template for the posts in Virtue? Has anyone used a good plugin with Virtue for this purpose? Other ideas?
I am after something that is really quick to do on a daily basis – just post a video url in a post and save, if possible.
thanks in advance,
Will, Maine USA
