In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: topbar icon is not looking sharp
February 2, 2016 at 1:23 pm #79206Hey,
The icons that are part of the theme are a font. They are not an image (pixel based) and can be sharp at any size.If your wanting to add a custom icon that is also a font you would need to get a vector copy of your icon and use a plugin like this to add it to your site. https://wordpress.org/plugins/svg-vector-icon-plugin/
Once you do that I can help you make it appear on your site instead of the image your currently using. Just post a link to a page where you have the new icon showing and I can help with the css.

Maybe you can look here and pick out a font you like: https://www.google.com/fonts
Please post a link to your site.

February 2, 2016 at 1:10 pm #79199Hey,
It looks like you have pasted content into your posts from another program. It’s adding in all the styles. You can see what I mean by going to the post you linked to and clicking on the text tab. If you want css or any of your theme options to effect that text you would need to remove all the styling. For example right now you have this:
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: georgia, palatino, serif; font-size: 14pt;">There’s no point in decluttering if you just go on and keep replacing old stuff with new. You need to keep a check on the new items entering your life.</span></p>And it would need to be this:
<p>There’s no point in decluttering if you just go on and keep replacing old stuff with new. You need to keep a check on the new items entering your life.</p>Ben

February 2, 2016 at 1:08 pm #79197Hey,
Since you have created a custom post type I assume your using a child theme. You would need to create your own breadcrumb function for that custom post type that you would call into the post type template files you have made.So I don’t know what “who’s who” means in terms of a page but if you want that in each that should be at the top of your breadcrumbs function.
In terms of making your own breadcrumbs for your own custom post type where are you getting stuck? You can look at the theme breadcrumbs for an example on calling in the sector. What part can I help you with?

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Product image Flip and lightbox issues!
February 2, 2016 at 1:04 pm #79194Hey,
” – Every time I check the box for “Enable Lightbox for product images” under woocommerce–> settings → Products → display and save, it goes back to unchecked status (again my Theme Lightbox is on).”^ That is supposed to happen. You don’t want the woocommerce lightbox if the theme lightbox is not. That will make extra files load. The theme turns off the woocomemrce lightbox automatically. That is the point of why it’s not staying checked.
If your ligthbox isn’t working it’s not that. It would be something else. please post a link and I can tell you.

In forum: Virtue ThemeFebruary 2, 2016 at 1:02 pm #79192Hey,
1. Yes you have to add your own link if your using a custom excerpt. (it’s custom so thats part of giving you control).
2. There is a blog page format for posts. See here: http://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/blog/
You can also use a blog grid see here: http://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/blog-grid-three-column/
^ That is where the custom excerpt would show as is. So whatever formatting you use for custom will show in either of those formats.
There is also a separate style option which we added for the home page. That is what you see as “latest posts” in the theme options > home layout. That purely optional. Think of it as an added bonus. You don’t have to use it if you don’t like but it’s there. If you don’t like how it styles the posts then don’t use it.
Finally you also can display the full post. see here: http://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/blog-full/
So to be clear thats three options.. Blog standard, blog grid, blog full and then apart and more custom from those the latest posts that you see in your home layout options.
Any one of those styles can be called into a page using a shortcode.
So since you want use the read more option where you manually tell wordpress where to break in the post by using the read more tag, you need to use the blog full. That style calls for content and not excerpt.
Here is an example of how we are using the full output in conjunction with the read more tag: https://www.kadencewp.com/blog/
You can see there that all the formatting is in each post (including an image) till I’ve added the read more tag.
It sounds like that is the style you want throughout your site (even on the home page).
So you need to go into your blog page, make sure you have selected the blog page template and set the “display content as” to be full. See here: http://docs.kadencethemes.com/virtue/#blogpage
Then you need to go into the theme options > home layout. Deactivate “latest posts” and instead move “home widget area” into the enabled area.
Next go to your apperance > widgets add a text widget to the home widget area and place
[kad_blog orderby=date items=4 fullpost="true"]into the text area.Ben

February 2, 2016 at 12:42 pm #79180Hey,
There isn’t really a built in option to add something different then what you can place into the post content but you can add an<h3>title into the top of your post right in the post content.Ben

I’m not sure I’m understanding what you’re asking. To be clear, you have changed the name of your home page, but the menu is not showing that change? Would you be able to post a link to the site that you’re working on so I can see what’s happening?
Thanks,
KevinIn forum: Virtue ThemeHi,
I’m using a featured projects grid in a footer widget. Is there a way to change the order to random (or menu order) rather than by date? I see the ability to choose a category in the Virtue: Post Grid: widget, but I don’t see an order setting.
Thanks,

February 2, 2016 at 8:59 am #79137Hi Hannah,
Thanks for your help. Yes, the CSS works but it still doesn’t display the search result titles when the blog is sorted by the topics in the sidebar (i.e. categories, archives, etc.).
Also, is there anyway to add a button (similar to the code below) at the bottom of the latest blog posts div on the homepage?

February 2, 2016 at 5:24 am #79097Hi Ben
I have not turned of the post title area for the portfolio….
I have page headers turned on as a default (checked on, in the theme options – page title editor)So this is still a mystery to me…
However, in the “blog otions” editor – i have chosen teh option “Show the post title below the header”…
Is this what you mean – and if so, why is the blog post styling overriding the portfolio…Thank you for your help
