February 3, 2016 at 1:06 am #79344Hey,
1. In your css you have this:
.entry-content img, .comment-content img, .widget img, img.header-image, .author-avatar img, img.wp-post-image { height: 215px!important; }That is coming from your “pretty-rev-slider” plugin.
That needs to be removed. just turn the plugin off.
2. Because you have the product layout enabled where your image takes up more of the screen then the standard you will need images at least 800px by 800px… your image above is only 500px by 500px.

Hello,
Hopefully this is an easy fix, but I can’t seem to figure it out!

That isn’t really something that I can give advice on. Either way you can click on the tag or the category and it would show all the posts. How you want to organize it really depends more on you and knowing your readers. It’s a lot of personal preference when it comes to this.

February 2, 2016 at 5:41 pm #79302Can you post a link?
are you images at least 600x600px in size?
BenIn forum: Virtue ThemeFebruary 2, 2016 at 5:28 pm #79296A shortcode is page content. you add it to a page in the content area and it output content. You can’t effect category template with a shortcode.
As a simple test to explain create a new page.
Add this to the page content where you would add other text:
[kad_blog orderby=date items=4 fullpost="true"]Save the page and view it.

In forum: Virtue ThemeFebruary 2, 2016 at 5:23 pm #79293Hey,
I guess I’m not communicating well enough..Can you please start with following this:
1. Go to the settings > reading. Make sure no page is set as your post page. Just leave that blank.
2. Go to pages and edit the page you have called blog. (make sure blog template is selected) and scroll down past to content box to where you see the page options. Again check this out: http://docs.kadencethemes.com/virtue/#blogpage
3. Set the “display content as” to be full.
Then look at your blog page.
Lets start there. Please try it and see if thats the type of layout you want.

February 2, 2016 at 5:14 pm #79289Hey,
Looks like your calling the theme breadcrumbs and not your own. Using the themes there is no way for the theme function to know what you named the taxonomy or know that you want to use it.You would have to create your own breadcrumb function and add it to the single template for that custom post type. Right now it looks like you may not be using your own template?

February 2, 2016 at 5:01 pm #79282Hey,
The hover background is based on your primary color. But if you would like something different I can help with the css. can you post a link?
BenIn forum: Pinnacle ThemeHi guys,
I am building a pure blog with Pinnacle, and was hoping you could give me a little advice on the menu structure. Let’s say I am blogging on clean tech, and have the following categories. Should I create all of these topics as categories, using parent categories, or would it be better to stick with the main categories, and use tags for the sub-categories.
I would like our readers to be able to click on “solar”, and see every post on that topic; or click on “energy” and see every post on all the energy topics. I don’t want it to get too complicated — we’re doing 5 or so posts a day, and want the site to work well at-a-glance.
Thanks!

February 2, 2016 at 3:27 pm #79258Hey,
1. So I’m confused. You want the title on archive pages but not on what? Maybe it would be better if you just posted a link to specific pages that you don’t’ want the title on I think that might be better for my understanding.2. You can use the home page widget area in your theme options > home layout to add a button anywhere on your home page.
Ben
In forum: Virtue ThemeThanks. The home page is set to “latest posts” as it is a blog and I want to be able to regularly post (unless I have misunderstood the difference between the two and can also have a static page with a blog?). But if I wanted to change it from Latest Posts to a static page to see, where would I go? It used to be under settings – reading, but since I upgraded to the premium, when I go there, the option doesn’t seem to be there.
As you can tell, I’m a novice when it comes to these things, so when I tried to add to the home widget area with a text widget, it just added to a sidebar rather than directly under the main slider photo. So, what might I be doing wrong?
For the second point, that might work but I am not sure how to do it. When I go into text, this is what I see which is over my head:
<ul class="slides kad-light-wp-gallery"> <li><a href="http://robinkickmw.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/P10009021.jpg" rel="lightbox[pp_gal]"><img src="http://robinkickmw.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/01/P10009021-750x325.jpg" alt="" width="750" height="325" /></a></li> </ul>Any suggestions?
Thanks so much.

February 2, 2016 at 3:05 pm #79244In each post you should be able to set the post title information to turn on or off can you not?
Ben
In forum: Virtue ThemeYow. I’m going to have to study that for a while to see if I can understand all the options. I did change the blog page template from “default template” to “blog.” I didn’t observe any change in the appearance, but maybe the options are different?
I am currently using “latest posts” in the home page layout. I like everything about it, except that it strips formatting from the text it excerpts. Is it possible that you might add an option in the future to preserve formatting in auto-excerpts?
I do kind of like the options you show for the blog page to have image sliders, etc., which might relieve me of the time spent placing and arranging images in a post. Can I choose that option simply by placing images into the slider section on the edit-post page? Would I still need to select a Featured image to have an image show up in the home page excerpt, instead of a placeholder?
Finally, I still do not understand the use of shortcode. As an illustration, could you explain how I would make this blog view (http://www.starrigger.net/category/ponce-chronicles/) display in earliest-first order by date? This is not an actual page, but the URL I get when I click on the category tag. (Would I need to make it a page to use the order shortcode?)
Thanks.
