In reply to: wp-updates outage?
I should mention that I do not have automatic updates turned on. I assume that the wp-updates.com site is being accessed merely to check whether or not the theme is up-to-date. Based on this, I would expect that even if my Virtue Premium theme was up-to-date, the theme would still need to check some updater site to know that it was up-to-date.
In searching the web for answers I also found a site that checks whether a website is down for others or just for me (i.e. the problem is local to my situation). This site confirms that the wp-updates site is down: http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/wp-updates.com.html
Also, to correct a typo in my original post, it was during the December outage that I first tried setting WP_DEBUG = true, not in November. I did find another mention of an outage like this in the WordPress forums: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/wp-updatescom-timing-out-slowing-down-dashboard
I’m still a little puzzled why there aren’t other mentions of this problem on your support forums, given that it seems to be a recurring issue that persists for days at a time and prevents access to the Dashboard screen.
Thanks,

In forum: Virtue ThemeAlright, so I have written a new blog post with no Virtue: Carousel in the post so the errors on my home page are gone. But I would like to add a Virtue: Carousel in the future. Is there a proper way to do this? Also, if you would like to see the error again, add a Virtue: Carousel to a post and activate “Latest Posts” on the Home Layout. Thanks.
In forum: Virtue ThemeAnd the previous post that had the “Virtue: Carousel” in the post is messing with page too. Now it looks like there are three posts. https://odetowood.com/. There might be something in the Virtue: Carousel code messing this up.
In forum: Virtue ThemeI FIGURED IT OUT! So I had added a Virtue: Carousel in and that is what was posting on the second post. I removed that and it is back to working as it should! That’s great news but I wanted that “Featured Product” carousel to be in the post. Any idea on how that can work?

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: two posting/blog pages
I have 4 pages. 2 are to allow comments, 2 not allow comments.
There are basically two options that I know of right now:
1. Globally allow comments on all pages.
2. Then on 2 pages, not allow comments. But this doesn’t affect posts that are linked via (no comments allowed) page category. Posts still allow comments. I would need to not allow comments in each individual post.I would hoping to have the page’s “no comments” checked also work for any posts that are linked and shown on that no comment page.
If there is no work around for this, I guess clients will need to uncheck comments when writing their posts for these two no comment pages:

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeI’m a new Pinnacle Premium user and am using the kt_typed shortcode. It’s a nice fit with the style of my site and product.
I’d like to adjust the size and font of the output from this shortcode and wanted to understand if there is any documentation available for it? The effect is just what I’m after but I would also like to be able to adjust the timing and add a pause of some amount after each line, probably a longer pause after the last line.
You can see it in its current form just below my header. I’m wanting to use it as a way to tell the user that the latest post is, in fact, the latest post:
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Virtue Premium can add thumbnail to recent posts?
I simply go to post link in dashboard, add media, tag to a category/page, save. Don’t know what you mean by “post a link.”
Yes. Blog Post Defaults>Blog Post Sidebar Default (Yes, Show)
Blog Post Summary Default (Landscape Image Slider)
Default post summary feature Image
Replace theme default feature image for posts without a featured image (no media)
Blog Post Head Content Default (Image)
Blog Post Author Box Default (Yes, Show)
Blog Post Bottom Carousel Default (Yes, display recent posts)
Choose how many items to show on recent/similar post carousel (5)
Blog Category/Archive Defaults
Category Display Type (post excerpt)
Display the sidebar on blog archives? This determines if there is a sidebar on the blog category pages. (Sidebar Layout)
Choose a Sidebar for your Category/Archive Pages (primary sidebar)To clarify I meant no images shown in Blog Post Bottom Carousel, just excerpt w/ link. Want the image that is added to post to show there as thumbnail.
In forum: Virtue ThemeHi, I just ran the Regenerate Thumbnails script on all images with 270 px hard crop (as I saw on some forum post), and mostly it worked ok.
There are, however, some persistent images that did not scale or crop (such as the baked beans on the first row). Why is this, and how to make them all the same size?

In forum: Virtue ThemeJanuary 19, 2016 at 2:24 am #76392Hello, I use the Virtue Premium theme and bought & downloaded the WPML Multilingual CMS plug in. I do not have string translation option with it. Everything is translating fine, the posts and pages, EXCEPT:
1)the home page. I cannot get change slider images on the home page which I´d like to make into Spanish version. I looked in the Language Setting and it shows that the .mo file for the home page is not found. This is what shows:
Language Code Locale file name MO file in /var/www/vhost/eleteholistichydrate.com/home/html/wp-content/languages MO file in /var/www/vhost/eleteholistichydrate.com/home/html/wp-content/themes/virtue_premium
English en .mo
Spanish es .mo File not found! File not found!2) the Widget area does not show another language (Spanish) version, I have Footer image menus and the Sidebar..
I appreciate the help since I´m a newbie at this. In case it helps, the website is http://www.eleteholistichydrate.com
Thanks!!

Hi Marc,
Sorry for the delay. I’m not sure I’m following. Why not just use a portfolio grid, rather than a blog grid? It seems you’re trying to link your images to portfolio posts anyway. Or are you wanting a portfolio grid within an individual blog post? If so, you can use a shortcode like this:[portfolio_posts columns="4" items="12"]Hannah
