Hi Ben, I tried both (deactivating photon, clearing the caches) and nothing changed. The featured images on the blog posts themselves are still showing up as broken links. At least they’re displaying correctly on the home page, which was the major cause for concern for me. Of course I still need the images to work on the blog posts, but as it’s Xmas I’m not too fussed to figure it out immediately.

Hey,
Thanks for the post. I did a little looking and I’ve got a solution that should resolved this. I’m hoping to update in the next couple of days but if you need something right now you can add this into your footer widgets, using a text widget.

Hi again Ben, the reinstall worked 95% of the way – the featured images are still not showing up on the individual blog posts. They’re working fine on the home page (I have it set to show the latest posts). Is there a setting I need to tweak in the theme update somewhere? I’m still new to the premium version so I am very much learning all the new features and such.

I have the same problem, how can we fix it? All my blog post preview images have vanished so most of my home page is blank and the upper image of each blog post won’t load.

Aha! I was using the Portfolio Category Grid page (sorry). Now I have posted it in a default template, and it works! So that issue is now solved 🙂

The only thing now is that the grid images are a lot smaller than the ones in a 4-column portfolio grid. I am hoping I can just change the numbers in the Shortcode to amend this?? Or do I need to fiddle with the layout of the default page template?

I now have what I want on the main portfolio category grid, as well as filters for the sub-categories on the portfolio grid pages (with that fancy shuffling thing I love and absolutely have to keep.) But once I have clicked on something other than ‘All’ and filtered to a subcategory with just those portfolio items showing on the grid page, I click on one of the images and seem to enter the portfolio category, not sub-category if you see what I mean? So when I click on the arrows and the grid icon on the top right, I navigate through ‘All’ not just the subcategory I had previously chosen, which seems to me to defeat the purpose of having the filter in the first place. Is there any way I can create portfolio grid pages for sub-categories so that the further you click through and filter, the less appears in the ‘loop’, while always allowing an easy way back through the breadcrumbs. (I’ve tried creating grid pages for the subcategory types but it doesn’t change anything).

Maybe I’m expecting too much from the theme, but thought I’d ask on the off chance this was both possible.

I apologize if this is too long winded and doesn’t make sense, but unfortunately I can’t paste a link, the website is hidden behind a ‘coming soon’ thing.

I had this problem before. The latest posts section of my blog looks blurry when looking at it with the cell phone. I use a Samsung note. I want my page to be crisp on any device. Last time you told me to use the plugin WP Retina 2x which solved my problem. But since some time the plug in seems not to work anymore. I already tried to update and even deinstall the plugin. Is there any other opportunity for me?

Well, it DID work perfectly to fix the Blog page at:

however, when I use that CSS you provided it breaks the layout on other pages using a similar technique – the CSS is forcing my layout into a single column, where I have it setup in three columns with specific image placement:

Can you offer some additional CSS to make sure everything both of these layouts work? Other advice? (I don’t care how I accomplish it, but it needs to work so that I can have actual widgets/sidebars used to control certain areas within a page, so when I have tons of similarly copied pages, the common areas are managed under appearance>widgets instead of within the page itself.)

1. You can use page builder and add widget to any page or post. Does this work for you?

Hi Hannah,

Unfortunately, that program only works on 3D product images, not spherical images.

Is it possible to create a field on the homepage where the slider exists such that I can embed the code?

The reason for this is because the link I gave you and the embed code already work with your theme and are standalone viewers. I am able to embed into posts just fine (though not in the slider). I hope we can figure this out, your theme is awesome and I don’t know of too many others that incorporate this software.

1. The using the portfolio category page means your supposed to use the type pages, those types have no other way of linking to a custom page you make regardless of what template your using.

If you really need them to redirect to custom pages with the portfolio grid template then you can use a plugin and set up the redirects for the url of the type pages so they get directed to your custom pages: https://wordpress.org/plugins/safe-redirect-manager/

2. The grid links page to whatever page you set as the portfolio page in your theme options > portfolio options. But you can also individually set the portfolio grid on a post by post basis in the portfolio posts themselves.

3. The category grid is set up to show all the types. You can not use that page template and instead use a shortcode that will display only top level portfolio types. But this will not mean the that portfolio type pages show the child types they will still show the portfolio posts.

I’m editing a staff post now. My Screen Options are Boxes for sidebar options, slug, staff group, attributes, and featured image. Layout options are 1 or 2 columns (2 cols chosen). Additional settings are “enable full-height editor” etc. (ticked). Don’t see a custom excerpt box. Am I in the right place?

You can control your excerpt by setting a custom excerpt in each staff post. click “screen options” in the top right corner if you don’t see the custom excerpt box.
