    #280566

    Hi Yogi,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

You can set up an RSS feed on any page you want.

If you are using the Gutenberg editor, you can use the Gutenberg RSS block.

For the SiteOrigin page builder, you can add the RSS widget.

    Here’s a screen recording: https://share.getcloudapp.com/rRuQggQ4

It can also be added to your sidebar, you can search for RSS block or widget in Appearance > Widgets depending on your Widgets editor if it’s block-based or the classic one.

I hope this helps and let us know if you need further assistance.

    Kind regards,
    Chito

What was the answer on this? I created an element and I chose “custom hook” and gave it a name. Now I want to insert this element in my sidebar and a few other place on my site. What block do I choose to insert it?

    #280416

    Hello,

I want to make the sidebar sticky on tablet and tried adding

    position: sticky;

to the above code but it did not work. Please help?

    Thank you!

    Hi Chito,
thank you for these two methods. Unfortunately I don’t think either are quite right for me:

The Row Layout would only appear on Pages it’s added to, but I’d like the side menu everywhere, including archives, LearnDash courses, events, etc

The Hooked Element is neat, thanks for showing me that, but it’s important to me for accessibility reasons that the nav menu gets tab focus before the main content. This Hooked Element gets it after the main content, just like a sidebar. It actually comes after the footer.

I’m wondering about somehow getting the left sidebar before getting the main content in the DOM so it naturally tab focusses first. All other ideas also appreciated.

    many thanks,
    — Peter

I’d like a vertical fixed header on the left side of the page like this.

I’m trying it in a left sidebar, but the sidebar’s <aside> appears after the page content <main> so the tab order for focus is backwards.

How do I get links in my nav menu in the sidebar to get focus before the content? Perhaps there’s something I can put in functions.php that will reorder the aside before the main?

Thanks for the great theme. I’m new to Kadence and really enjoying it.

    Hi!

In addition to what Dane mentioned, please double-check the Screen size to switch to mobile header option in Customizer > Header > Design. tab It is possible that you have set this to a high value which is why the tablet/mobile header already shows even on desktop views. If you did, click the Reset values icon on the left side of the option name.

Another possible reason is that you have a small screen which makes the customizer preview detect that the device is already a tablet/mobile. If this is the case, you can zoom out of your browser or click the Hide Controls link on the customizer left sidebar.

    Hi Safir,

Thanks for your reply. As for adding sidebar to the homepage, that’s possible! If you want to set a specific sidebar on homepage, you can use Hook Elements or by changing its layout through homepage editor > Click Page Settings > then choose the layout that has sidebar. You can watch this screen recording to know how to assign a specific sidebar for homepage and changing its page layout. Please watch: https://share.getcloudapp.com/WnuDbgJl

    Hope this helps!

Please let us know if you need further assistance and we’re here to help!

    Cheers,

Thank you. What about my query on if you can add a sidebar to the homepage? Is that possible?

    #280151

    Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Did you add any blocks to your Sidebar 2? If you haven’t, please follow this screen recording to know how. Here, please watch: https://share.getcloudapp.com/Qwudl4xv

As you can see, when I assigned a sidebar (Sidebar 2), the sidebar is empty. This is why I added some blocks from Widgets page and added some blocks and placed them to Sidebar 2.

Please try this on your end and let us know how it goes. Thanks!

    Cheers,
    Dane

I see that you can go to Customize>Posts/Pages Layout, and Page Layout or Post Layout, and modify the “Default Page Layout” to select a left sidebar or right sidebar instead of the default normal without a sidebar.

Is there a way to add a sidebar to the homepage? Here is the homepage that I see. It has a grid layout and no sidebar.

Also, a related question. When I tried setting “Page Default Sidebar” to “Sidebar 2”, the sidebar disappears.

It works fine if I use “Sidebar 1”.

Is there something I need to do to get the sidebar 2 working? What exactly is the difference between sidebar 1 and sidebar 2?

    #280132

    Hi, Rupa.

Glad to know I was able to help with the first two points!

As previously mentioned, “The content container plus the sidebar width will be a total of the main content container’s space.“. If you’re using a sidebar layout for the shop and category archive pages, you’ll need to decrease the sidebar width. This is the only way to make the content column wider.

I hope this clarifies and let us know if we can assist you further.

    Kind regards,
    Karla

    hi
I want to display a element in the sidebar only when the pages are product archive pages and the shop page. So i selected before sidebar under “placement settings”. Then under “display settings” I selected product archive pages under one rule and then added another rule with singular page and then selected ‘Shop’ from the list.

However the element is only getting displayed in the sidebar on the archive pages and not on the shop page. Kindly help.

The same thing happens when I try to display the element below the header or anywhere for that matter with this set of conditions.

    Hi there,

Thank you for getting in touch.

You can add the Gutenberg Search block to your sidebar widgets. Copy the settings above the block – sidebar-searchsee attached image

To remove the search button border, you can use this custom CSS:

    .primary-sidebar .wp-block-search__button{
        border:none
    }

Let us know how we can help further.

    Hi, Rupa.

Thanks for reaching out to us.

    1) How do I adjust the width of the sidebar on category pages?

The sidebar width is global, once you adjust it within the Customizer settings, it will be applied to all pages/posts that used a sidebar layout. For your reference, here is a screen recording – https://share.getcloudapp.com/nOubNRPO.

    2) Also I want to adjust the width of the category container in proportion to the width of the sidebar

The content container plus the sidebar width will be a total of the main content container’s space. If you adjust the sidebar width, the content column will automatically be adjusted, as you have seen on the screen recording I sent above.

    3) There is no difference when I select FullWidth and Contained for “Container Width” Product Catalog. Is something wrong?

Just to confirm, are you referring to this option – https://share.getcloudapp.com/NQujZN7e? Please note that this option will only be applied to the “Above Content” archive title section. Standard will make the title section’s background full-width but its contents “contained”.

While full-width will show the background and contents in full-width. Here’s a screen recording for your reference – https://share.getcloudapp.com/6quGBZE7.

I hope this helps and let us know if we can assist you further.

    hi
im trying to implment a product filter system using the Off Canvas Sidebar feature. But what happens is that everytime an option(multiple options checkbox is selected, the result loads, the off canvas sidebar closes and I need to open it and select another option.

How do I make it so that it only closes when the close button is clicked?

    #280079

    hi team
How do I enable the Off Canvas Sidebar only on mobile and tablet?

    hi team –

    1) How do I adjust the width of the sidebar on category pages?
    2) Also I want to adjust the width of the category container in proportion to the width of the sidebar
    3) There is no difference when I select FullWidth and Contained for “Container Width” Product Catalog. Is something wrong?

I can’t find how to make the above changes in customizer. Kindly help.

    #280067

I’m sorry for this stupid mistake!

I removed the // and it worked, but the sidebar (containing the Table of Contents) went above the post headline (should have guessed this), so I decided to use 2 different hooked elements for desktop and mobile.

Thank you again for your quick help!
