    Hey,
    You can create custom sidebars from Theme Options > Misc Settings then add content to them from Appearance > Widgets. Then in your edit page[s] you should see an option to pick which sidebar you want to show.
    Hope that helps!

    At present I am using the Primary Sidebar which is showing up on all pages with sidebar activated. I noticed in widgets there is a second sidebar “Sidebar1” can this be used to show a different side bar on some pages and if so how?

    1. For the sidebar dropdown menu, you’ll likely have to use some plugin for that to work. I don’t believe there is built in functionality that allows you to do that, and it’s not something you can accomplish with CSS.

    I realized that I was pretty sloppy with the above CSS, so I would recommend replacing it with this.

    li.menu-item-686 >a , li.menu-item-673 >a   {
        background: #399ED1;
        color: white;
    }

    li.menu-item-675 > a, .menu-item-683 > a, li.menu-item-672 > a    {
        background: #399ED1;
        display: block;
        color: white;
    }

    This CSS will also make the text white.

    Here is some CSS that will give your upper level sidebar menu items a background. Give it a try and let me know if it works.

    li.menu-item-672 > a {
        background: #399ED1;
        display: block;
    }

    li.menu-item-686 {
        background: #399ED1;
    }

    li.menu-item-673 {
        background: #399ED1;
    }

    li.menu-item-675 > a    {
        background: #399ED1;
        display: block;
    }

    li.menu-design.sf-dropdown.menu-item-675 {}

    .menu-item-683 > a {
        background: #399ED1;
        display: block;
    }

    1. This CSS will move your sidebar to the left. Copy and paste the code from the forum to Theme Options> Advanced Settings.

    @media (min-width: 992px) {
        #content .main {
           float:right;
      }
    }

    2. Your site is in maintenance mode. Would it be possible for you to make it visible so I can better understand what you’re referring to?

    Thanks!,
    Kevin

    I also like how the above links Main Menu Items are in a colored box then the subitems below are not… Mine right now have no color:
    ^^^ Scroll down its on the left side

    Hiya,

    Take a look at

    On the pages the testimonials widgets seem fine but on the sidebar and footer of posts I get a script showing?
    Can you advise?

    Thanks,
    Rebecca

    Thanks, that works great but now I see another strange glitch in the right sidebar on the home page of http://www.ultimatekitchensmagazine.com
    I have the images set to 70% width and the underline set to 70% width but they don’t line up? I’m using the visual editor widget for this list. Also it would be nice if the title assigned to the visual editor wizard could be centered (It says “Our Sponsors” now).

    Thanks, Glenn

    my bad, I didn’t know you had to do that to see the sidebar options.

    thanks again for your help 🙂

    I am using the default page option and it should show there and it’s not showing the sidebar options when I am creating a new page. I have just gone back to my backup before the update and it is still doing the same thing. It normally shows above the call to action section where the mouse icon is in this pic No Sidebar Options

    is there a way i can give you access to the site so you can see for yourself?

    #90529

    Thanks Ben,

    That was very helpful. Can you please let me know how I now can suppress the featured images on the homepage? They are now showing up after update. I would like to keep them in the sidebar but hide on the homepage and blog page.

    Thanks
    Sylvia

    The sidebar shouldn’t show until you have saved the page even if as a draft. Once you have using any template but the contact or portfolio grid then it would show options.

    it shows my sidebars correctly on my pages and if I edit them it shows the sidebar options on the page I am editing but it doesn’t show when I create a new page from scratch.

    Could this be a plugin issue then?

    Thanks for your help, much appreciated 🙂

    Ok 2 things…

    1) I downloaded ContactForm7… But when I get into my Widgets I’m not seeing it show up on the left hand side to pull over into a sidebar

    2) I want to customize it to not only have NAME, EMAIL, but also have under it I am Interested in: (check box) Windows, Siding, Patio Doors, Reducing Energy Bills
    AND
    What Time Of Day To COntact You: (Check box) Morning Evening

    My Sidebar Options have disappeared after WordPress 4.5 Update when I am making a new page. Is this something that’s happening to everyone?

    So I downloaded this plugin and when I went to Menus to add the widget to a sidebar menu I created I can’t figure out how to add it. What am I doing wrong? SORRY 🙁

    #90401

    1. It’s using the latest posts. You have the page content enabled. The options are different so you won’t see “in your home blog settings you can set the columns to two” it defaults to 2 when showing the “latest posts” module in free if there is no sidebar.
    Premium also has the option to change the layout of the page content, something that free doesn’t.

    Ok the screen shot really helps here… In your home blog settings see how you are only showing “uncategorized” posts (which you don’t have any). You need to leave the “limit posts to a category” blank or on select. or you truly just want to show one category then select a category that has posts in it.

    2. Sounds good

    3. As a developer I just strongly suggest that being 6 months behind is a bit different then a guinea pig. Especially since security is the main reason for many updates. It’s the biggest most common way people’s sites are compromised.

    4. Thanks, I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking though, or meaning. The order determines what order items are added to the home page. So icon menu would show first in this image. Is that what you didn’t know?

    Hi… I’m wanting a sidebar to show up on every page that is exactly like this:

    With the FREE Consultation with every form fillout, interested in, and schedule… Just basically looking the same

    Is this possible?

    Thanks

    #90342

    Hey,
    I think you’re referring to the sidebar. You can edit/remove the sidebar content from Appearance > Widgets. Or if you want to remove the sidebar altogether you can select a fullwidth template for you blog posts from Theme Options > Blog Options.
