Topic: Question about sidebar hooks
Dear Support Team,
In Kadence Theme Pro Elements, there is a option to select the relevant hook. So we want but something in the left and something in the right sidebar. But we only see the following hook in the elements editor from Kadence: “Before Sidebar, After Sitebar, Replace Sitebar” So how can we say if it wouls be the left or right one?
In forum: Kadence BlocksNovember 23, 2021 at 5:37 pm #269065Hi Karla,
Thank you so much for the help! I managed to get the Sidebar ToC block working, looks pretty cool.
One other related question: On this page (Glossary), I would like to present a Full Width image at the top of the page. I selected a Feature Image, but the image is never Full Width (I guess it seems to take the Left Sidebar settings).
I noticed that in the video you sent me (thanks again), at the top of the page there is a green ‘block’ with text (Test Blocks) that is full width and seems to behave the way I want (see attachment). How do I insert a full width block at the top of the page, ideally with an image.
In forum: Kadence BlocksHello,
I can see on this page that you’re using the Widget Dock plugin for the sticky popup with the TOC block inside it. The links to headings are not working because the headings themselves do not have the proper ID/HTML anchor.
Here is a screen recording of what Hannah recommended(using a sidebar layout, adding the TOC block, and enabling sticky header) for your reference – https://share.getcloudapp.com/yAu0zojw.
Hope this helps and let us know if we can assist you further.

KarlaIn forum: Kadence BlocksNovember 22, 2021 at 11:40 am #269039Hi Hannah,
Thanks for the reply. I managed to get closer to what I want….I created a ToC Element, enabled the Sticky Widget Sidebar and changed to Page Layout setting from Left Sidebar to Full Width. In this config, I get the sticky sidebar containing the Toc on the Left Side. So far so good.
However, now when I press on the ToC items on the left, the page no longer scrolls to the correct item.
Can you help me figure out why the ToC click feature (which was working properly before) no longer works like before? What am I missing? The site/page I am working on is https://staging.bitcoindad.org/glossary/. I am trying to make this page look as much as possible like this page: https://bitcoin.org/en/vocabulary
Thank you very much!!

Hello stefano,
Please make sure you have selected the Sidebar layout in Customizer > Blog Posts > Archive Layout. Additionally, I tried the plugin you mentioned and it works on my end – https://share.getcloudapp.com/geupPg4Z.
If this is not how you want to show the widgets, could you send screenshots so we can better assist you?
Kind Regards,

Hello,
I want to add multiple widgets. All the widgets will go up with scrolling but the last one will remain sticky. No need to have it scroll.
Go to Customizer > General > Sidebar and enable the Only Stick Last Widget option. This should scroll all the other widgets and make the last one sticky – https://share.getcloudapp.com/p9uN8w8y.
Hope this helps and let us know if we can assist you further.

I see. But I don’t want this feature. I want to add multiple widgets. All the widgets will go up with scrolling but the last one will remain sticky. No need to have it scroll.
For reference you can go to hsupertool dotcom or Blocksy theme sidebar.
*all my previous theme that sidebar I asked for but Kadence one is different and it’s quite unusual. People will scroll my content, not my sidebar.
I hope you will understand it. Thank you.

Hellow, yeah it’s fixed. Unfortunately, I have enabled the same functions in a table of contents plugin.
Sry for disturbing for no reason.By the way, why there is a scroller when I enable the sticky sidebar in kadence theme. Attached the image below,.
Thank you so much 🙂

Hello,
Thank you for giving a link to an example.
In the example you provided, the sidebar will not stick all throughout. Once it reaches a certain scroll position within the content, the sidebar will scroll too.
This is currently not the behavior of the sticky sidebar in the Kadence Theme. The sidebar will stick all the time but if you want your sidebar to somehow be similar to your example, you can enable the Only Stick Last Widget option – https://share.getcloudapp.com/4guP9NeG.
Lastly, if you want a sticky sidebar option exactly like the one from your example, you can log a feature request on this page. However, please note that we cannot give an ETA of when that will be added as the development team considers certain factors before implementing new ones.
Hope this helps and let us know if we can assist you further.

Hello,
A sticky sidebar will make the sidebar stay in a fixed position and so if you have a lot of widgets and the content goes beyond the screen height, it needs to have a scroll bar to indicate you have more content.
You’ve mentioned “I want the content to be overflowed. Just like blocksy theme.“. Could you send a page URL with that example so we can have a better idea of what you want to achieve?
Kind Regards,
KarlaIn forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: Hide sidebar scrollbar
Hello,
Basically, the scrollbar appears because there is overflowing content. This is to make sure the users can still see the whole content rather than being “cut-off” completely. Please could you provide a page URL where we can see your current sidebar? We may be able to provide a custom CSS code to fix this.
You may set your reply as private so only you and the support team can see the URL.
Best Regards,

October 25, 2021 at 4:59 am #268595When I add more widgets to the sidebar and make it sticky, a scrollbar appears. I want to hide that scroll bar but still make the sidebar sticky.

October 20, 2021 at 9:43 am #268529Hi Chito,
It’s not so much for the look but for the ease of adding things to the sidebar since I’m rebuilding a website for someone else. I like the full width look so I decided to go with reusable blocks imitating a sidebar.
Thanks for your response!

October 20, 2021 at 9:16 am #268528Hi Rachel,
Thank you for writing.
Unfortunately, moving the sidebar under the header is not possible. The default positions of a sidebar are either in the left or right part of the main content.
Can you provide a sample of what you are trying to achieve to know if we can help you create a sidebar look?

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: RSS feeds in sidebar widget
I am currently moving my website to a new host and have tried to recreate the sidebar widget which included two RSS feeds. The new block editor does not appear to have an option to give the RSS feed a title and display the RSS icon that I previously had on my old site. Any advice on how to achieve yjis would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Mitchell,
Thank you for contacting us! Hope you’re having a great day!
I believe the best way to accomplish this is going to be using Hooked Elements. Rather than building your sidebar in the widgets area, go to Kadence Elements, and create your side bar as an Element. If you’re unfamiliar with Kadence Elements, please take a moment to read the post below to learn how it works:
https://www.kadencewp.com/kadence-theme/knowledge-base/pro-addon/how-to-use-element-hooks/Then assign it to replace the sidebar on your tag archives, as shown in the screenshot below:
https://share.getcloudapp.com/ApuEBjkxDoes that option work for you?
Thanks,
