    Update: I closed down the site and reopened. And presto….parallax option back in play. What the…? Technology makes me crazy.

    I still need to know if I am able to use parallax on body while also using sidebar layout. <sigh> I need a glass of wine.<laughing>

    Thank you, Hannah.

    Let me ask this question also.

    Can I do a sidebar with a parallax in the body of the page? I might be seeking do to the impossible. 😉

    Thank you, Hannah,
    Pam

    Hi,

    For whatever reason beyond my understanding, there is no parallax option in the right sidebar in the page editor.

    Theme Options> Settings >Fullwidth > No sidebar
    Theme Options” Home Layout> Page Content

    Went to Home page to set “Page Content” playing photo to be used as Parallax layout….and it’s not there.

    Sending access info below.
    Thank you
    Pam

    We don’t recommend or suggest using that plugin so it’s not connected with us. I can’t tell you if you are using it.

    The theme allows you to create custom sidebars through theme options > misc settings. If you see Shopping sidebar and checkout sidebar there then you know you are not using Woo sidebars.

    That or you can just create new sidebars there. You can assign sidebars for the shop page in your theme options > shop settings.

    Hey,
    You should be able to drag widgets into the custom sidebar widget area in your appearance > widgets page.

    Hi Hannah,

    Me again,

    I’ve created the custom sidebar. Can you please direct me how to add affiliate banners/linkd etc to custom sidebar as I only know how to add to primary sidebar. I can’t click on custom sidebr to edit?

    thanks Hannah.

    I’m trying to eliminate unused plugins, and want to determine whether I need (actually whether I’m currently using) the Woo Sidebars plugin, or if that’s something that Virtue is covering for me. It’s been quite a while since I set this up, and I don’t remember if I’m actually using the Woo. I’m afraid of deactivating it if it’s really in use.

    Currently, under Widget Areas, I see: Shopping Sidebar, and Checkout Sidebar. I don’t use any plugins in the Checkout Sidebar, but I do use different ones in Shopping than Primary.

    Would I still have this functionality — being able to use a different sidebar for shopping pages than my primary sidebar — if I disable the Woo Sidebars plugin?

    #220008

    Hi Hannah,
    I went to misc settings but only see primary sidebar and shop sidebar. I cannot find a sidebar widget? Do I have to add a Plugin (easy custom sidebars or something)?

    thanks in advance.

    Within the infobox settings (in the right sidebar) you should see options to add a border around the image, and around the entire container. Do you see those? Or are you wanting something different?

    Hey,
    1. Are you in the customizer or the theme options? Have you tried in both? Can you send a login so I can see this? (you can use set as private reply.

    2. If you want my opinion I would suggest not using file looking backgrounds. But design is about opinions so someone might really like that.

    2a. you can use this css:

    .second-nav-container {
        margin-left: 0;
        padding-left: 0;
    }

    2b. you can use this css:

    .second-navclass .sf-menu>li:after {
        display: none;
    }

    2c. you can use this css:

    .above-footer-widgets .widget-title:before, .footer-widget-title:before, .kt-title:before, .sidebar .widget-title:before {
        display: none;
    }

    3. No, only use a child theme if you need to change code files, adding css it’s not required or needed.

    4. For your clients they can use your License, it means they come to you for support. If for example you were no longer working with them or you wanted them to come to us for support then they would need to get there own license but as long as they are your client the license is valid for them.

    If you cancel your license then the customer will get a notice in there admin that the license isn’t active and they are not getting updates. It’s then up to the client to decide if they want to ignore the message or get a license of there own 🙂

    I hope that helps!

    Hannah,

    Thank you for the response.

    Well, that’s my problem. In Appearance> Widgets….there is no option for header widget.

    I only have:

    Instagram Slider – Shortcode Generator
    Primary Sidebar
    sidebar1
    Top Widget
    Home Widget Area
    Footer Column 1, 2, 3, 4

    Am I missing something?

    It appears that the menu is no longer being activated in that sidebar. Did you remove it from the settings?

    Hello,

    I bought membership and am trying to use Ascend theme. Have many questions, first: It seems that when I choose a Google font (Oswald) for the website in Appearance and then save “Custom CSS”, the fonts go back to default. What should I do?

    I’d like to build menus as in this site I have previously made: – would this be possible in Ascend? How to access the items in the 2 menus? Or maybe I should just forget about the archive file looking backgrounds in the menus. This is where I am trying out the new site:

    Detail question: 1. How to get the upper menu align left with the page content? Now the menu items are centered. 2. How to hide the vertical little line inbetween the horizontal menu items? 3. How to hide the horizontal line in the beginning of footer items and sidebar items?

    Is it advisable to create a child theme if you make so many changes? – I am not yet familiar with child themes, must study that.

    Question regarding work with clients: Now that I’m a member, shall I give my Product API Key to the client or just fill it in while building the site and then next year ask for a password and go fill the key in on their site again? What if I cancel my subscription? My guess is the client then is on their own and gets no updates, unless they make a subscription themselves.

    Thank you in advance,
    Ulla

    Hey Mimmie,
    Yes, you can create custom sidebars from Theme Options > Misc Settings. Then you can add content from Appearance > Widgets. Then in your edit page, you will be able to choose a specific sidebar for that page.
    Hope that’s helpful!

    Hi,

    I am using Dokan multi vendor with Virtue Premium theme.

    Dokan have a widget called Store Category menu, which displays the vendor categories in the sidebar.

    It displays ok using 2015 theme but is not visible using virtue theme.

    Could you please check if there is conflict with your theme.

    Thanks

    Hi,

    Can I post affiliated link on the sidebar of a specific page (I dont want it on all pages)?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey,
    Can you post a link? Make sure that you are not enabling a sidebar from your portfolio edit page.

    Hannah

    #218852

    The template is already showing the same, the difference is the sidebar side and the sidebar assigned.

    In a child theme you can add a function like this:

    add_filter( 'kadence_sidebar_id', 'custom_sidebar_woo_tax' );
    function custom_sidebar_woo_tax( $sidebar ) {
    if ( is_tax( 'prints' ) || is_tax( 'pa_tamanho' ) ) {
     $sidebar = 'sidebar1';
    }
    return $sidebar;
    }

    Just change the sidebar1 to the id of the sidebar you want to use.

    Then if you want to change the side the sidebar is on when viewing the page you can use a similar filter:

    add_filter( 'kadence_sidebar_side', 'custom_sidebar_side_woo_tax' );
    function custom_sidebar_side_woo_tax( $side ) {
    if ( is_tax( 'prints' ) || is_tax( 'pa_tamanho' ) ) {
     $side = 'left';
    }
    return $side;
    }

    Hello,

    Can you link to a specific page that you’re having this issue with?

    Also, were you sure to clear your cache after changing the sidebars?
