In reply to: Transfering site from wamp to live
Hi Ben,
Thanks for the quick reply, I tried using the system you mentioned but it doesn’t quite copy the pages over as I want them. You can take a look here at http://hec.nz .
When I go into the page settings the page builder doesn’t look the same as it would on my localhost server. Is there anything I need to take into account when shifting sites?
Thanks
In forum: Virtue ThemeHi there,
I have decided to go live with my website but I get SQL errors when exporting my database. Im not too sure what it means but it says its a syntax error.
Is there anything I can do to fix this up? Or a step to avoid it?Thanks, error is shown below

The reason I do manual updates via FTP is that the theme breaks when doing front end updates. It says the old files don’t delete properly and the theme files get corrupted, this happens for all the sites on my server using Virtue (this is the only one with Woocommerce), so I just update them all via FTP instead.
Would updating to 3.5.4 tomorrow be the most likely fix?
Thanks
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Virtue: Post Grid Styling
Thanks for clearing that up – it seems that what I wanted is way easier than I thought it would be. I managed to see the icons for a few minutes before something else went wrong with my site – the blog grid that they are being pulled from no longer shows all the posts that are categorized under it and a smaller link to the same page shows up where it really shouldn’t.
The grey icon isn’t even a post and seems to be preventing the rest of the posts from showing up:

THANKS BEN!!!
The website is doing fine. All buttons have been renamed and behaving nicely. I understand the Child Theme and know the pitfalls / solutions in updating. I called GoDaddy and they made adjustments. My php is now version 5.4. My max upload speed is 192 mb. They had to rename the php.ini to php5.ini and then there was a syntax error in the command line for the upload max. At least I think that is what they did. When I talk to techies, it is as if they are speaking a foreign language that I barely understand.
Ok, I’m good to go. This may all have been solved going down a faster route, but you stayed at my speed and I appreciate your patience.
Cheers. Blondie

I’ve gone ahead and unpublished that item by switching it to draft. It says my WP Memory Limit is 256 MB.
I’m currently on 3.5.4, I updated all my sites via FTP and the update wasn’t available from my account page earlier (There’s also no notes in the changelog.) I can try updating the theme tomorrow morning?
Thanks

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Call To Action Button Size
Hello! I am currently building a website for a client and using the Call To Action Button Widget on my header and have 3 questions.
1. How can I increase the size of the button?
2. What else does my primary colors change? Is there anyway to change JUST the color of the button itself and not all my primary colors? Also, how do I change the color of the font inside the button?
3. Is there a way to make it so it automatically calls the phone number (button) when clicked on?website is lightupyourpup.com

If in doubt, check with the author of the theme.” I am using Virtue – Premium Version: 3.4.5

March 17, 2016 at 9:38 am #86217Can you send me a login to your site?
It seems that you would really benefit from wordpress 101 course. Have you viewed tutorials on how wordpress works?
https://leveluptutorials.com/tutorials/wordpress-basics1. You don’t have any widgets added to the sidebar. So it’s empty. Please add widgets to your sidebar. (like the woocommerce category widget)
2. You have lots of products without a featured image set. Please assign a featured image to each and every product.
3. In your theme options > shop settings. Scroll down to the product title font. Right now you have it set to white… that makes it impossible to see. Please make the color something other then white.

March 17, 2016 at 9:30 am #86212Hey,
We can’t really give SEO advice, it’s not an exact thing either since no one knows exactly how google ranks sites. There is a lot of good articles you can read even from google. I would suggest using yoast SEO plugin to set everything up and I think it would be worth adding more content to your site so that “add to cart” wasn’t the most common keywords, to mean that points to a lack of other content. But you know your site better then me.
Past that you would need to hire someone who really knows the field.
