In forum: Virtue ThemeIn forum: Pinnacle ThemeTopic: Website speed wierd problem
Hi,
Well I am a the moment 90% with optimizing my website. Cache’s are enabled (in a weird way, more on that later).
Ok so my website is domoretraining.com
The problem is the following, the main page loads in 1.7seconds ( WAYYY BETTER THEN I HAD BEFORE) and I’m fine with this (with woocommerce + polylang) it slows things down. Anyway, for the main page the server wait time is around 200ms (good), but when I check speed with another page, it gives me 4seconds load time (with a 1.7 server wait time).
Is there anyway to reduce that wait time on other pages? It feels like the other pages wait for the main page to load, and then they load themselves.
I thought that it was the woocommerce plugin that slowed things down, but my other website (with the same theme pinnacle) has the same problem (same server vps 2gig ram dreamhost)Now for technical part. The server is nginx (for performance) and well I had so many problems with cache that I simply enabled cache in code + browser leveraging. And used WordFence to get a general cache.
I am running different cache solutions on each website, so that cant be the problem. So basally if there’s any solution to this?
I used W3 previously, but guess what, that plugin made the main page load for 1.7 (server response time).Thank you!

Hey, so your server seems to be blocking all your scripts:
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden)
http://www.marlydress.com/wp-includes/js/jquery/jquery-migrate.min.js?ver=5bbe0063beb42c7529ab5a7cb02ce4fc Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden)That is a core wordpress file.
I suggest contacting your host to have theme check your file permissions.
Same errors show on your http://www.fayhaamazad.com/ site.

Ben / Hannah – I can probably struggle through myself – I have set site to two columns using the Home Widget Area and putting some widgets in there, so I’ll carry on playing – but can you answer me this question ….
What is the difference between using a static ‘home’ page (Reading tab under Settings) vs using the Home Layout option under Theme Options
Which do you think I should be focussing on using?
Thanks

February 9, 2016 at 3:39 pm #80477Hey
so just to make this clear upfront, first thing is always hosting. You can’t compromise hosting and hope for 5 star results. But I suggest you look at caching, using a plugin like wp-rocket or w3 total cache would make a significant impact on site speed.
google pages speed helps for insight but don’t pay too close attention to the score. It’s suggestions are not a good representation of the speed of your site. (test with amazon.com for example on google). You really want to look at load time, size, and how many requests.
http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/bCwbwP/http://obuvmart.ru/product-category/kapika/
compare with this:
http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/b1jXt5/http://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/shop/The main things I see is your amount of plugins. Tons of scripts are loading with tongs of requests and you will want to bring down your file size. 2.5mb for a category page is a lot.
You also have a 3.5 second wait for the server to process. That could mean your not serving cached files. Or that your plugins are loading and processing outside of the cache. Or that your host is just slow. But look into that.
So to start are you using caching?

In forum: Virtue ThemeHello,
Re : *Login to see link
Can you tell me if there is a way for me to get my ‘Site Wide Activity’ (currently listed in menu) instead in a ‘widget’ or ‘window scrolling type panel’ on the right of my main page without intruding too much on the existing format of the main home page please? There is no shortcode on my activity PAGE, it just goes to *Login to see link The activity stream is a function from USERPRO which works well – I’d just like to list it on the home page in a smallish area.
I’d also like to do it with this plugin which I will buy if I am able to do it with your theme. I’d imagine that they have a short code or something for it.

February 9, 2016 at 2:21 pm #80456Good night,
the shortcodes for staff members don’t show organized the square. Appear to be broken. I let you the url of my website where the problem is: *Login to see link
Thank. Excuse me for my poor english.
In forum: Pinnacle ThemeHi there,
I’m probably missing something obvious here, but no matter what I do, I can’t get my shop page header to match my other pages.
I had imported the demo content and made all of my required changes without any issues, but am stuck on the shop page.
The default header background image that shows fine on the other pages won’t show on the shop page, so the header overlaps the products and looks a bit of a mess.
Could you take a look please?
These look fine:

Hello! What is the version of the theme that you have updated to? Everything shows up on other themes? Have you installed any new plugins that might be conflicting with the site?
Another thing to be sure of is to clear your cache to be sure that your WordPress site isn’t lagging with your changes.
In forum: Virtue ThemeFebruary 9, 2016 at 12:58 pm #80441Hi there,
Is it possible to translate the virtue carousel widget please?
For some reason it seems that it only shows on the EN website sidebar that I indicated and cannot get it to show on the NL website sidebar.

Thank You for the quick reply,
I mean more in general, to be applied different classes throughout like, Image Menu Item, Blog Grid, Portfolio grid, and such the like. If you need a specific element on a specific site, I don’t have that at the moment, but will soon. I am more wondering if it can be done at all, within the theme’s/SiteOrigin’s elements.
Here is an example:

In forum: Virtue ThemeIt’s dependent on the size of the browser window. The theme behaves responsively based on the width of the screen. That’s why when you change the width of your browser on any device, you can see how the site would be displayed on other devices of that width. Anything under 992 pixels is considered mobile, and any window under that size will display mobile.
With the variety of site’s running the theme, it’s hard to determine what the best default settings should be. With literally thousands of sites running the theme, there aren’t really any features that you can know for sure will apply to every site out there.
And we’re here everyday to answer any questions you might have, so never be afraid to post on these forums.
Thanks!,
KevinIn forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Submenus inside submenus
I am trying to include all the product categories an sub categories on my website as dropdown menus. Problem is that I have a few main categories, they open in a dropdown menu, they show the subcategories, and those subcategories have sub-subcategories. So let’s say I have a main category called Beach, that open as a dropdwon, I have several sub-categories(eg. beach hats, beach accessories, etc) and one of those sub-categories has sub-categories of its own(eg. Cildren beach has Children accessories and so on). You can see it in here: *Login to see link . Problem is that it adds an extra space where is not needed. I went to the theme options and I have no idea how to remove that. I’ve also changed the css a bit but it also changed my other menus removing the space between them.
I would like to remove that white space and show the sub-subcontent a bit indented to the right.
Thanks in advance for your help.In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: picture not showing

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: 2 Questions in products page
Hi, I am trying to copy 2 things from the bottom screenshot.
1. They seem to have “category” within the attribute. For exmaple: they have Sizes and then they have adult or child then they have the variables. Instead of having just Sizes and then 10 different variables. How would this be done with this theme? I am using virtue premium theme 1.
2. Color swatches, they have actual color swatches of its color instead of written “red” “blue” etc. I understand that this needs plugins, I wanted to make sure this plugins are supported with this theme before I install them, I am worried that because this theme already have a setting where you could change to buttons instead of default dropdown, some how this will conflict with the plugins.
here is the link of the site for the above screenshot
thank you.
