You shouldn’t need any such plugin for retina displays and the Virtue theme. As long as you use high resolution images, the site should look great on any display.

I’m on a new MacBook Pro and have had no difficulties doing anything on my test sites as long as I use large images.

For reference, I advise you run the test on our demo site so you can compare the results. Most of what determines your site’s speed is file sizes and your host, but mostly the latter.

Hello,

We’ve been running this theme for about a year now without problems, however after the last updates weird things started to happen:
Editing pages gives either a blank 500 page or a page with the text rendered as white. I solved this by disabling the Page Builder plugin.

Now I discovered that all the theme options itself give a blank page, in multiple browsers. Http headers show 500 internal server error. It does that with and without the Site Builder plugin disabled.
I hope you can guide me towards a solution for this, because right now the site’s back end is basically broken.

Some version info:
Page Builder by Siteorigin v2.2.2
Wordpress 4.4.1
Virtue Premium theme 3.4.7

If any more information is needed I’ll be happy to do so, thanks in advance.

Hi Ben ty for the answer.. i just replace the widget php whit old version, because if i have the new in lib folder on ftp, portfolio carousel (full and normal) not visualize the image on home page and the site duplicate himself in all page.. so if have a solution i will replace in ftp the new one.. i’m working on site.. ty again i will wait for your answer..

I made many improvements related to my Site. Now it is working as fast as skyrocket. I want to share them with you.

Firstly I removed all unnecessary plugins. Virtue premium theme is quite extensive. You do not need to plugin more. Just explore and learn the theme’s features well.

1. I reached out to wp-config.php via FTP (Filezilla) and then add the following code;

define ( ‘WP_ALLOW_REPA is’, TRUE);

After I added the code, I went to address http://example.com/wp-admin/maint/repair.php, and I repaired my database. After this operation, the code was removed again (for security).

2. I reached out to wp-config.php via FTP and then add the following code;

define(‘WP_POST_REVISIONS’, FALSE);

This code deletes previews.

3. I removed the traces of deleted plugins via clean options plugin. This plugin allows to reach wp_options table. I removed the tables of deleted plugins, one bye one. I know, this process is quite dangerous. I Googled the table names. I have not deleted the table that I don’t know.

4. I cleaned all post revisions via Optimize Database after Deleting Revisions plugin.

5. I installed, activate and enabled (!!!) the WP Fastest Cache plugin.

6. I have 3 websites hosted on the same hosting and (probably same wordpress). I applied the same process on every three web sites. One of the themes I use virtue premium, and other two are free virtue theme plus pinnacle toolkit.

7. I do not use a special plugin to compress images. Because as far as I understand, theme or WordPress itself compressing images (If you do not adjust images as full-sized). I use the Adobe Photoshop and similar programs to prepare images. The maximum size of my images are between 100-200 kb. I think this is reasonable in terms of quality and size.

8. YouTube video URL’s in the pages were seen as only text or link. This issue is now resolved spontaneously following these operations.

9. As I understand, there are limits on the number of menu titles. I think that’s due to the theme. I’ve simplified the problemmatic menu and reduce the number of title. Now, I am able to add new titles to the menu.

10. Host waiting time (reaction time) also absolutely improved. I tested the speed of pages from google page speed and pingdom.com. The pages are now loading in about 1-2 seconds. Slowdowns also improved in the wordpress admin panel.

Do you have an idea how I can solve the followig challenge?

I used siteorigin to set up my landingpage (https://www.schusters-shrub.de/) and I set up a text widget: [blog_posts items=”2″ cat=”wissenswertes” orderby=”date”]
My problem now: I cant change the post-headline (entry-title) to <h2> (its h5 now). Do you have a clou in which php file I can find the entry-title settings?
I changed nearly everything to h2.

Our new website is almost done (the technical side at least). I do have a few little questions:
Dev-site

1) What is the width of the layout I used (standard boxed layout), 1200px?

2) When the website is full-screen the main menu sits nicely next to the logo. When I make the windows smaller, part of the menu jumps to a second line, messing up the visuals. Making the window even smaller, it jumps into mobile-mode (which it should).

Is it possible to make the main menu to use more of the blank space between the logo and the menu, when the page size is between the full size and the mobile size? (My logo 250px).

3) In the top-bar I have a “Your Cart” with a shopping basket image. Is it possible to change that text to “Shopping Basket” or something similar?

FWY: I do have a child theme running. If necessary I can create a temp-login

The code seemed to work – iPad looks good, thanks.

Regarding point 2 – I noticed the issue on the iPad – as you start to move down the page it jumps. I thin check on the browsers – refreshing etc. but it always seems there. Are you saying you don’t see it? It happens on all pages of that site on all the devices I’ve tried. However, on phone size, as the header is not sticky, everything just scrolls – so perhaps it’s to do with that? Not the end of the world.

Hello,

I updated through the update tab in the home menu. Just like I always do.
I did not clear that, but after checking it and getting rid of the plugin the problem is still here.

If you kindly could scroll down to where it says ‘Shares Available’. Would you be able to assist me to menu settings whereupon i could centre this product (as at this stage i only have one. Is this possible without modifying CSS? The reason i ask, is that i might have more products available at a later stage. If not possible might you help me with modification of CSS. Also, is there a way i can get the entire picture of my horse in this window box?

Problem 2.
If you could kindly refer to the Portfolio tab in menu called ‘Shares Available’ – is there a way i can also centre this picture and possible make it bigger?

I cant send you a link as I’m doing this locally and wont have a web address till my site is finished…could take a while as its large…can you tell me a way of having the menu bar a different colour all along the bar to the main content down below…it seems the surrounding area of the .main.col-md-12 is the clearfix and when i change the clearfix to black, it changes the inside of .main.col-md-12 and other parts and yet…i want that clearfix area surrounding the main content to be black and not effect whats inside the .main.col-md-12 or the top menu…it overrides lots of colours…what do you think i can do about it ?

So i finally uploaded the Virtune Premium Theme to my wordpress site.

But when i press ‘Live Preview’, it shows me how my site will look with the Premium theme, and it’s all different!

Does that mean, if I want to actually activate the premium theme, I’m going to have to go and make every change to my site all over again? Because, with all due respect, that’s weeks and weeks of work. I thought the premium themes were upgrades. But if i’ll have to rebuild the entire site, that’s a completely new theme.

Honestly, I love Virtue, but if I have to put that much effort into ‘upgrading’, that’s really kind of insane.
