In forum: Virtue Theme
Hi,
I’m having some problems getting this theme to play nice with WooCommerce and Events Calendar by Modern Tribe. With those plugins my website can sell ticket’s for events using WooCommerce.
On the product pages the plus and minus buttons are located right where they should be, but on the event pages they are shown at the very top and bottom of the page. (See next -private- mssg for the relevant links)
I have been pointed towards the virtue.css stylesheet, specifically the #content .quantity .minus,#content .quantity .plus lines
#content .quantity .minus,#content .quantity .plus{
position: relative;
}I added this code and on the page
event: it moves the plus and minus right above and below the qty, but not yet on the right spot next to it.
shop: moves the minus sign above the qty (while it location is perfect without this code)Can you give me some CSS advice?
Thank you
Robert

January 11, 2016 at 7:24 am #75211I’m not seeing this on any server I have. Can you link to one of these sites? Where exactly are you seeing this and if you don’t get an error can you send a screen shot?
BenIn forum: Virtue ThemeHi Guys
After adding a mobile slider to my site, I’m seeing an extra slider area at the bottom of my home page
carriecoren.comI deleted the slider it was referencing, but it looks like there’s a widget in that spot; (and there’s no widget for that on my home page.)
Thank so much-

UPDATE: After messing around with everything for a few hours I clicked on Settings under your WordPress Admin Screen then clicked “General Settings” an noticed my WordPress Address (URL) & Site Address (URL) were both set to https://grizzlyapparel.com instead of http://grizzlyapparel.com guess that small change made the entire website go haywire so problem solved! 🙂
In forum: Virtue ThemeHello I’ve had the Virtue Premium Theme for a good 3-4 months now an my shops completed has been working great until around New Years. I had a issue come up which I resolved with shortly after with my hosting provider & boom it all worked fine again…or I thought. By the way my website itself is grizzlyapparel.com. But I noticed my links for pages I clicked after new years added extra junk an I googled it an its what the call “ugly links” an thats not good cause you google my site an most of the stuff you click from my site dont load (Its had 26,000+ visits sense launching). I had it setup correctly once with clean links before an something happened sadly… I went to change it around this morning as I found out about it but now I’m stuck an Ive got customers I know that are gonna wanna order stuff this morning off of it an now my homepage won’t load at all!! However the shop page does an you can access the rest of the stuff for the most part so not worried about that. The MAIN issue is my website address won’t load period (homepage) meaning people clicking the link in our instagram bio or on our facebook page won’t be able to access the website an I need help asap. Now I’m using Woocommerce an Yoast SEO which I turned Breadcrumbs on this morning an got that setup how I want it to be setup which is › Home › Shop › T-Shirts › Mens. Everything is updated far as the theme/plugins an like I said it was all setup before correctly. Is there anyway to turn off wordpress permalinks or maybe wocommerce permalinks…maybe thats messing with it by chance? Or what should I do exactly? Any advice an help would be greatly appreciated as I depend on my website for income as I’m disabled an this is driving me nuts this morning. Thanks in advance! 🙂 -Clint
In forum: Virtue ThemeHello,
Could you please help me with this:1. I have translated the website from english to dutch … What I have noticed with regards to woocommerce is that, when I go to a main product category in english and click on it …the category opens fine …when I change the language on the top menu to dutch, the page with the dutch translation shows up …. BUT ….than if I change it to english again, its says page not found …. What am I doing wrong?
2. Also the pictures in the main category dont show up on my menu in dutch, like they do in the english version. The plugin guys are suggesting a conflict issue with regards to the theme… Could it be ?
Thanking you in anticipation.

January 10, 2016 at 4:50 pm #75152Hi Ben, Hannah,
I’m ready to post this live and am checking out the mobile look – but I’m seeing *no* images at all on my iPhone on my site. Everything else seems to be working. Is there a global image thing I missed?

In forum: Virtue ThemeHi
My ‘Contact us’ page seems to generate an email which goes to a spurious address which was entered for a user at some stage for testing which has since been deleted. The site administrator email address has always been [email protected], but it seems to be sending Contact Us messages to [email protected]
Extract below from /var/log/mail.log
I am running WordPress 4.4 on Ubuntu Linux 14.04 running LAMP stack with Virtue 3.4.0 (I know I have a 3.4.5 update pending, but I am experiencing some other issues which I also need to iron out first) Thanks

Hi Ben
The Error which is returned after a Google Crawl Fetch and Render doesn’t even state what the error is. Funnily enough it doesn’t return the error if I fetch only (and not render).
I have done several updates quite recently – Virtue Premium / Yoast (free version) / WordPress update – though exactly what is returning the Error message is above me but it suddenly appeared on all websites on the same day during a Google Crawl.
Really appreciate any help / advice you can offer me.
Regards
Gill

Hi Ben,
I’m spoke with GoDaddy and they also said that ZenCache (or any caching plugin) should be removed because it will conflict with their provided server caching. So I deleted it. I also had them check the php logs and they were fine. They said that they are having some issues with wordpress sites hitting their servers in certain parts of the country and that their admins are working on fixing the problem. So, I have no choice but to wait and see and keep speed testing in the meantime.
Thank you,
GaryIn forum: Virtue ThemeThe Ultimate Member global site access is open to everyone now. And I selected pages to only be accessible to logged in users via Ultimate Member option inside each page. Thanks. I think I finally understand. And hopefully clients will not change their minds again! One can only hope!

January 10, 2016 at 2:39 pm #75128Hey,
You should remove zen cache. You need to use w3 total or wp rocket cache. If your not allowed you need to talk with your host as to why? There is almost no reason for that unless you host has it’s own caching which would also mean you don’t want zen.Your server wait time is really really slow. That can mean your host is experiencing some issues or they are limiting bandwidth to your site. It can also mean that your hitting the max memory setting in your php. It would be best to contact your host and talk through this, have theme check your php logs as well for errors. Some hosts may try to say it’s a plugin but really point out the server response time. Like if you look here: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/ejWTFs/http://www.groomsring.com
it takes over 6 seconds waiting on the server before the “ring box” image starts to download. Thats a very small image and should be instant for the server to pass on.Ben

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: My website is loading very slow…
Hi Hannah,
The test says that my site is slower than 96% or other sites tested… I’ve been also testing the size on GTMatrix.com.
I did not make any changes on to the site because don’t know how and i stay away from codes and other things I’m not experienced with to avoid messing anything up. I have not even begun to as product yet. I compressed and optimized all the images using the WP Smush and Thumbnail Regeneration plugins. I also made sure to scale all of the imaged in my Media to the same cropped size used within the pages. Something else is clearly wrong because there’s also a lot of lagging (3-5 minutes of waiting) just to login to the dashboard via the WP admin. it also lags when I click from one menu to another and anytime I save any changes. I’ve checked the plugins to the best of my ability and even deleted a few and left only the essential ones and the ones that are frequently updated. The last plugin I tested then deleted on my site was Woocommerce Checkout Manager.
Another concern I have is that the caching plugin I have is ZenCache and it may have something to do with the speed because the message below is constantly displayed at the top of my dashboard which I am not confident enough to do because I’m not experienced enough.
NOTICE: ZenCache + PHP APC Extension
“As of December 1st, 2015 ZenCache will no longer run with the outdated PHP APC extension. It appears that you’re currently running PHP v5.4.42 with APC enabled. You will need to follow one of the actions below to run the next version of ZenCache.
Options Available (Action Required):• Please add ini_set(‘apc.cache_by_default’, false); to the top of your /wp-config.php file. That will get rid of this message and allow ZenCache to run without issue.
• Or, contact your web hosting provider and ask about upgrading to PHP v5.5+; which includes the new OPcache extension for PHP. The new OPcache extension replaces APC in modern versions of PHP.
The reason I suspect ZenCache is because I deleted it, I tried to upload WP Super Cache and a message popped up stating that due to whatever issues I am not allowed to install it on my site. Then I tried to install W-3 Total Cache and it said the same thing. I hope the theme’s code has been compromised in any way by one of the plugins.
Please HELP me! I would be glad to give you access to my site’s admin dashboard panel if you’d like to take a look in hopes you can find and fix the the issue quicker
Thank you,
GaryIn forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Urgent – The website is gone
I lost my internet connection while updating the theme and now I can’t enter my page (either as admin).
Appears the following message in the screen: Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute.
Could you tell me how can I recover my page?
It’s urgent.
Thank you.

January 10, 2016 at 2:17 pm #75120Hey,
You need to recreate and leave that page live. Don’t remove it.Once you create it you must go into your woocommerce settings > products > display and assign that page to be your shop page. Save your settings in woocommerce then test your site.
