Hi, I added a couple of custom links to my topbar menu and I can’t see how to make those open up in a new window to keep my site open. When I click on the links, it changes my page and I can’t even use the back function, it just refreshes the page that just opened. Thanks,

Hi Ben,

Thanks a lot for your answers. I think the support is 5* in this site!

1. What did you set the php execution time and memory to?

I’ve changed these lines in all php.ini files found in c:wamp like this

post_max_size = 750M
upload_max_filesize = 750M
max_execution_time = 5000
max_input_time = 5000
memory_limit = 1000M

But I still have this message when I want test Virtue Premium 3

“Sorry but your import failed. Most likely, it cannot work with your webhost. You will have to ask your webhost to increase your PHP max_execution_time (or any other webserver timeout to at least 300 secs) and memory_limit (to at least 196M) temporarily.”

Whay not to post a complete package with demo examples without using Kadence Importer?
Do you have a php.ini file working with Wampserver 2.5 ?

2. In your theme options > advanced settings. Remove the css in your custom css box. Or at least remove the css for the logo.

3. What version where you talking about updating from? “assets folder” ?
All versions from 3.3.5 to 3.3.6 and now from 3.3.6 to 3.3.7
The error I did is not change Theme before updating and the folder assets is not removed.

I can know update without problem when I choose another Theme before updating. ( Sorry, It was explained in your installation details, but we don’t read always the instructions when where excited to discover the theme 🙂 )

4. I’ve seen your conversation in other post with another client explaining how to make the demo Virtue Premium 3 working without using Kadence Importer.
But it’s complicated for me 🙂

Hello!

Ive got a problem with the quality and size of the background images on the sites. It doesnt show the whole picture, only a “zoom”-version. But the strangest thing is, that on one computer it shows the pictures in a correct way. On the main site (startsite) it looks always right.

By the way, how/where can I delete the titles “Home/Impresionen”, “Home/Angebot”, “Home/Über uns”?

Hi,

i have to manage with the tools i have and know so far, but i hope to grow up some day and hire the coding part.
Also, i don’t want to push support, just need to be put on the right track.

This site needs just another 2 rows, and that’s it – not even menus…
… so i could design a full version for mobile devices, but i have to figure out how to switch.
Would the mobile version have to be a new install on a subdomain or is there another approach ?

Can’t find the CONTAIN option on backgrounds… did it change name to NO REPEAT ?

If you are talking about the ajax filter that is built using this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/yith-woocommerce-ajax-navigation/
It uses product attributes as the system for controlling the filter so you can just make an attribute that is a copy of your product categories.

Hey,
1. You could set the background color to the blue and just use background images that are transparent in all the places that are blue.

2. This is a bit beyond support. To me you are designing without thinking response, mobile first3. Right now for what you have to work you would need to set the background to contain and not repeat then for each screen size you would need to add media queries to change the padding around your text along with the font size and spacing so you could make it really small as the image shrinks. There is no way to automate this with the design you are going for. You will have to add tons of css and for that reason you shouldn’t add the spacing shortcode everything would have to be done with css and new css for each screen size.

3. You have to use background contain.. not cover.

Please understand that there is a difference between supporting a theme and developing a custom site. Your site is going to need tons and tons of css if your wanting to make it responsive. The design is so for desktop that your going way beyond what support can give with a couple lines of code.

Thanks Ben,

My idea was to install the Style3 as it is almost exactly what I need.
I wanted the photos to have a model for sizes that looks good on different places.
Downloading from browser from your site is a pain because I have to look for the address in the code (is there better way to have these?).
I uploaded the Style3 that comes with the importer so that should be all OK at the end.

I noticed I am not getting your nice sub category filter on the shop but maybe I just don’t know how to make it work…

Hey,
1. You import all 5 of the files in the zip. One at a time because of your server. they aren’t random each file has a different post type.

2. It’s related to style 1.

3. “– a file *.xml with ALL content.” Yes of course that is what is in the importer. It’s also whats in the tutorial you looked at. That is what your server can’t install… If that would work we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

4. If you could use the above thats part of it the images just download from the server as they are needed… If you want to just grab some free images this is a great site : https://unsplash.com/
You can also get all the images from the site by downloading from your browser.

5. Yes style three is there in the importer plugin as well as in the older method using the tutorial. It’s just the full file and thats what your server isn’t letting you use.

You can open the importer plugin, go into the files and get any of the styles you want.

6. If your wanting a site similar to the style three do you want to remake all the demo content only to remove with your own? I can set the theme options for style 3 if you like?

Ok, Thanks for the information. I am looking into this, I can’t see anything that makes me think this is from the theme over an insecure site but I’m talking with the guys at sucuri to see if they can find any way that this would be a theme issue.

The website I am working on uses a 18px body font with a 29px line spacing, BUT I need all the sidebars (not the widgets titles, just all the text in all sidebars) to be smaller font (14px).

How to fix this, it is important to meet my clients specs.

Hey,
Every single shared host I know allows you to adjust php settings. So you could pick any, Hostmonster, bluehost, even dreamhost which I would never recomend.. but I personally like a small orange.

You are not going to be able to install the demo 3 you won’t get menus and widgets (thats what the importer does and there is no workaround for that).

As I said this way is not perfect…

You can use the standard wordpress import… Meaning tools > import. Choose wordpress, then choose one of those files, That will help you install post pages etc. You won’t get images because of how basic the importer is. the images are all media files and for that you need to use a file that exports everything.. thing is your server isn’t letting you run something that can import that.

when you imported the one you did you got 20 products. That is one step. if you go through all 5 that will give you other post types.

The json file is something you can open, copy and import into the theme options by going to theme options > import/export.

I am sorry I wasn’t more clear I thought since you had said you tried https://www.kadencewp.com/install-virtue-premium-with-demo-content/ that you understood the import tools.

The reality is i”m only helping your install what you can on your server. There is no way to do the whole site based on your settings. So after you get this content you will still have to make menus, upload images etc.

I am with SiteGround, all your clients with SiteGround have the same problem.
With SiteGround you cannot play with the settings files.
Please give me a good host that works well for a descent price and I will take them next year.

With the importer (tools/Import) I loaded virtuepremium.wordpress.2015-11-25 (3).xml which I guess is a collection of post/menus/and writings?
As a result I got a message saying “have fun” and 3 comments and about 20 products loaded.
No photo, no post, not much basically.

What do I have to do with the *.json file please?

Could you please direct me to a howto or give me a complete answer because I am from Australia and with the time difference it is just not gonna work if you give me just a bit of info every morning. 😉

Don’t you have like a whole package that I can download and load bits by bits (medias+writings+theme config), that would work just fine.
Of course please give me the steps to follow with that.

I’ve pretty much finished my site, but still want the homepage slide show to play on a tablet as well as a cell phone. In one of your responses you said I would probably have to create a child theme, but told me to hold off because you might be adding this as an option. Checking to see where things stand.

Hey,
Menus and widgets are saved based on the active theme. If you have a child theme then they are saved based on that child theme, You can’t activate the parent theme and expect the same menus and widgets to be assigned because they are only saved based on the theme. (child themes are considered there own theme in this regard).

That is why you don’t see the menus, because they are all saved based on your child theme.

You are responsible for all the files you have in your child theme (you are editing them and removing the parent themes control). So a child theme should only include the files you want to edit.

If you have edited a woocommerce template file then you need to update it based on the changes woocommerce has made.. meaning you look at the parent theme and copy over the needed changes.

Your styles are not showing because they are saved in your child theme. You need to keep that activated for the child theme css file to influence the site.

What is best for you do to right now it so fix your child theme so it’s updated.

Hey,
That would only be possible if you contact the plugin author and he tells you how. It’s not something a theme can do. Themes can’t change how the plugin outputs code, can only help style that code with custom css. You need to ask the plugin author.

If you just want some css to make there dropdown widget fit better I can help with that but you need to add the widget and then post here. I would need to see the widget output on your site.
