In forum: Virtue ThemeIn forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Shipping Options
Hi,
We are starting an ecommerce site where smaller items can be posted out with an option of 1st class signed for or 2nd class signed for and orders over £60 free postage. Larger more expensive items are for collection only from our shop and I can’t seem to make it work, I’ve set a shipping class in WooCommerce settings and the products concerned. However, the larger items are coming up as free delivery as over £60. I’ve tried temporarily enabling Shipping Debug Mode in WooCommerce, but same thing happens.
I’m new to this so I hope it’s not going to be too complicated!
Thank you.

October 15, 2015 at 3:44 pm #62992Thank you sooo much for your patience Ben. I’ve found it and downloaded the zip file now.
Your help has been greatly appreciated. I’m pretty cool with Photoshop but building a website is somewhat of a different challenge

October 15, 2015 at 3:44 pm #62991ok, that would point to an error with the loading of the site. Like the server has been maxed out and isn’t loading the css correctly.
I’m going to suggest contacting your host and having them increase your max php memory and max php input vars.
Those are just settings in the php. Once they do that then try.
Also if this happens again have you tried looking in a different browser?

Thanks Ben. I believe all the plug ins are up to date. I did revert to a revision and got back some of the work. The site has just gone live on the web and there was a problem with the super cache so that has been deactivated by my hosting party. What is happening is when I make the changes and try to update, Safari sometimes goes down or it takes forever to update and I have to leave the site – then the whole thing reverts to lines across the page – not just what I have been working on but the whole formatting on the Home page.
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: How to show custom post types on home page
October 15, 2015 at 3:37 pm #62989You can hook something in with a function. Or use a widget like the site origins post loop widget in your home widget area. Or another plugin like: https://wordpress.org/plugins/the-loops/
Are you using a plugin to build the custom post?

October 15, 2015 at 3:32 pm #62988I don’t see any errors on the site. Have you tried pulling from a revision? Is all your plugins up to date?

October 15, 2015 at 3:26 pm #62987Yes you have to upload the premium. I’m just explaining that on a multi site thats where you do it.
Click add new there and then choose the zip file.
did you want me to do this for you?
Ben

October 15, 2015 at 2:08 pm #62964ok, you have a multisite set up.. meaning you have to go to my-sites at the top left of the page. There you to go network admin > themes.
You install the themes there and activate for the network.

October 15, 2015 at 1:49 pm #62956Hey,
Ok so I’m asking for one that you make in your admin panel. When you make it you should have a “username” and “password”. I need both of those to login.
Also along with that you would need to post a link to your site.. I don’t know what your domain is. So you can’t just send me a username and password but also a link to the site itself.
the private reply is only so you can keep your post here private and if you look down and too the left below the place where you can type a message you will see the checkbox for it.
Does that help?

October 15, 2015 at 1:15 pm #62950I’m confused too – where do I make this log in please? On the C panel of my KVC webhosting or where? The one I did (as above) was on my wordpress site but this obviously was not what you wanted. If it is in the C panel which bit am I looking for please? Sorry for my lack of knowledge but I can’t find anything where I have to set a user with a private reply……
I’ve just found where the virtue premium file went to when I uploaded it via Filezilla last night. It’s hiding in admin under public_html (Don’t know if this helps)

October 15, 2015 at 12:40 pm #62944ok, Just to make sure I’m clear on whats going on. After testing you can confirm that this is just a javascript issue with TwentyTwenty jquery plugin that your adding in the footer text widget?
I looked on the site and I see that you are adding jquery in the footer.
<script src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.10.1/jquery.min.js"></script>You will want to remove that. Jquery is added by wordpress and adding it twice can cause a conflict. If I had to guess I think thats most likely the issue.
If you can send a temp login to that site I can test a couple javascript things for you if removing jQuery doesn’t work.

October 15, 2015 at 10:11 am #62923Minhajul,
I did read your post. I really appreciate how through you were. Not trying to be in a hurry only trying to help as quickly as I can. I did miss where you said you didn’t have any code in the header and footer scripts and still had the issue.I am asking for a link because I need more then the images. I need to see the page output and code to better determine whats going on.
If I could recreate this issue then I’d be able to see whats going on and no worries but I can’t seem to get any issued while testing. The premium theme has been updated to over 2500 sites. I’ve had no one else report this so is there anyway I can see the site? get access so I can see what your seeing?I do take this very serious and once I can find the error I’ll have an update for it ASAP.

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: New Theme Issues?
Ben,
I am starting a new thread to continue the discussion from here –
As you suggested, I have removed the current version of my theme via my hosting FTP portal.
I am still experience ‘page load’/’page display’ issues with the ‘Twenty Fifteen’ theme activated.
I downloaded the latest zip of Virtue Premium from your site, then attempted to upload to WordPress via the WP install option.
I got the following error message, “Failed to write file to disk.”
Is this something you can help me with? Or would you suggest I contact my hosting company?
Thanks again,
Andrew
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: A Serious Problem with Latest Virtue Theme Update
Ben,
I already mentioned that you will be redirected ( to “Coming Soon” page) for which I took time and shared some screenshots to illustrate the problem. I wonder whether you’re in a hurry. I would really appreciate if you go through my reply (#62891) and pay some attention to it. I also mentioned what exactly causing the problem to my site. The problem only appears when Header and Footer Script output feature under Theme Extensions is enabled even if no code is added to Header and Footer.
For Andrew, I just shared a solution from my experience which worked for me and I hope you understand that I made no attempt to discuss every possible reason. I also never experienced any trouble in uploading themes or plugins via FTP.
