Hi Ben and Hannah,
1. What CSS would I need to add in the advanced settings to change the entire website to match a custom font that is on my homepage? It’s not available on the font options tab.
rwmcmorrow.com
2. Is it possible to change the “search menu” (which I guess is the header) to a regular menu where I could have buttons to access an “about page” and other pages?
Thanks

In forum: Virtue ThemeSeptember 20, 2015 at 3:14 pm #59290Hello,
I have a problem with permalinks in my website martha-care.comI have polylang and woocommerce both installed and I would like to make a multilingual store.
In permalinks settings I have:
– Common settings -> Post name
– Product permalink base -> Shop base with categoryIn Settings-> Languages -> Settings I have:
– “The language is set from content” (Posts, pages, categories and tags urls are not modified.)In order to make the multilingual possible I have to switch this last option to:
– “The language is set from the directory name in pretty permalinks” (Example: *Login to see linkThe problem is that, if I make this switch that I have just mentioned, I get a 404 page not found error for every single product page.
I surfed the internet but I have not find anything yet.
Do you have any idea of how I can fix it?Thanks in advance.
Best regards,

September 19, 2015 at 11:52 pm #59239Hey,
1. Having 40 pages or 40 products takes the same resources. So doesn’t matter if you use pages in terms of speed.2. Doesn’t sound like your editing anything in the files so you don’t need a child theme.
3. When you update the theme for example to 3.2.6 you don’t need to worry a bout losing something all your theme options and content will still be there. With that being said I strongly strongly advise you to make regular backups of your site in case your server fails to be protected.

September 19, 2015 at 11:47 pm #59237Hey,
1. Sounds like you just need to add product categories to your menus… In the appearance > menus page. In the top right corner click “screen options” then in the dropdown make sure the check box for “product categories” is checked. Add those to your menu and it will allow you to link to product category pages.2. What have you set as your “primary” color and 30% lighter primary color in the theme options > basic styling. Make sure you have not set white like the background of your site.
3. You would have to control that. You can use the testimonial posts for this like this page: http://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/testimonials/
4. In your theme options > advanced settings add this css:
.footernav ul li a, .footercredits p { font-size: 14px; }5. In general if your logo is too large I recommend uploading a smaller image over using css since a smaller image will be quicker to load. but if you want to use css you can use this:
#thelogo img { max-width: 600px; }6. So you know for the shop page you can just show categories by setting that in your woocommerce > settings > products > display.

Hi Hannah, I actually tried to do the Woocommerce plugin but we don’t want to have the shopping cart because we don’t want to sell online. I also tried another plugin that is suppose to hide the shopping cart but for some reason it didn’t work. So I started to do pages and I think it’s been working pretty good, I just hope it doesn’t slow down my website (is that possible?) I have about 45 pages so far and have more to go. If it does slow down my website, what would you suggest? About the upgrade, I didn’t lose any of the content when i upgraded thank God, but I didn’t follow the exact instructions, maybe that’s why I lost some customizations. This new update seems to be a theme update. So if I update it my website will stay exactly the same, I won’t lose anything?
Thank you so much!-Amanda

I have another question about the site, not sure whether to start a new post or on this one.
I would like to edit the sidebar for the shop pages; particularly I would like to change the CSS of the main categories to have a background color the same as the header #21b2e7 and font as white to help distinguish them from the subcategories. Not sure the best way to go about it. I am also open to other suggestions for this many categories and subcategories as I only have about 5% of my brick-and-mortar store listed and have a lot more product to add still. Thanks!
In forum: Virtue ThemeHi there, I have had your theme for about 3 months and I am a newbie and do not know code. I have been learning from videos and forums. I have been trying to set up a website that is a store and will also have blogging which I will do last. I really need some guidance on the best user friendly design and way to do this.
I sell many products for example various body care products (lip gloss, fragrance oils, sprays etc) and I also sell many jewelry and customized products, therefore what I have found is that the woocommerce seems to have it set up so that the “shop page” has all the products clumped together when you click on it making it hard for my customers to sort through… So I tried to help this by setting up the drop down menus under appearance to allow for selection etc. however now the problem is that while this seems to take care of the sorting issue, when a customer selects for example, “All Necklaces” under my “Jewelry, Accessories & Supplies” menu title, they see all the necklace pictures but then if they click on a specific necklace they are interested in, it just brings up a lightbox picture but there is no link to the shop. Therefore, there is no way for them to then purchase the product…the only way for them to purchase my products right now is only if they go to the primary menu that says “shop products.” Again that will open ALL the products of which I am still adding to. I tried the custom link in the menu section but that did not work because it is connected to the page I created called “All Necklaces” which is how I added images from the media section to it….I don’t know the best way to set up my shop this way…..Is there a way to put the specific link to the specific product they choose under the menu, like I can with the “shop product” only have it also through the menu set up so when the customer clicks on it they can then get linked back to the specific shop page it is on?
~ When someone goes into product reviews and they hover over the stars the color disappears so you cannot see the stars, where do I find how to change that so the color does not just block out what they are trying to click?
~ Is there a way for people to leave testimonials (especially from my original shop which did not have online store so they bought products but have not online yet) or is that considered to only go through me?
~ How do I make the footer text larger? Right now it is almost unreadable it’s so tiny.
~ The Store name / Logo I have set up in the center but when I do that it makes it huge covering the whole page, versus the other selections which make it too small and not in the center. Is there a way for me to shrink the logo size in the center so it’s not so big?
~ Would you please look at my website sybellasblessingshop.com if you can and let me know what you think? I woudl so appreciate your advice based on your experience with the most user friendly way to set up a store and also eventually blog using this theme especially with me knowing no code? I would so appreciate any further tips or tricks. It is only me starting up this store so i don’t yet have the income to hire someone else to do it.
I have other questions but this is what i will start with. If you can private reply I would appreciate it. Thank you!

i am having to issues with the home slider:
1. the max width and height are too small for the website, i need it to be full width. so i changed the max size in Themeoptions php to 1058 adn 2000 px and it worked. but not with the child theme. i copied the themeoptions.php to my pinnacle child theme and change the values there. but it only reacts when changed in the original theme. so every time there is an update, i have to rechange the slider max sizes. Please help.
2. for some reason the home slider gets a blue overlay when clicked (at the frontend) and i cannot figure out why. it doesnt do that on your demo.
and it stays blue, you cannot click it back…only refresh screen helps.
thanks a lot for your advice!
best, caroIn forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Revolution Slider – Issues and Purchase Code
Hey James,
So you actually don’t get a full license when the slider is bundled with the theme like you do if you purchase directly from the plugin authors. You don’t get their support or updates through their api. It’s part of how they do their licensing and theme bundling licensing. With the purchase of this theme you get the use of the plugin on one site and your revolution slider support would come through us.
So with that being said, what exactly is happening? Can you add text in the backend and it just isn’t showing on the front end or can you not add text at all? Can you post a link?Hannah
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Blog layout on Kadencethemes.com
September 19, 2015 at 6:08 am #59183hey ben, yes, exactly that. It is very strange, before adding an image AFTER the more tag, size of blog archive page is around 600kb. When an image is added AFTER the more tag to the single post, the blog archive page is around 720kb. No added requests thogh and the added image is not in the HTML. I think these speed measuring sites are not accurate, because I checked GTmetrix and Pingdom also and they don’t show an increase in kb. Who knows.
ACtually I have a question rearding the grid style blog layout: You can choose how many columns you want, but is it possible to make it like this:
http://www.greenkitchenstories.com/ where the hight of the row is always the same but the width is different for each post? Thanks!

Thanks Ben,
It worked well.
Can you guide me with this:
1. Is it possible, for the entire webpage,to drop lower by around 200px when the mega menu opens out? The menu bar on top remains fixed.
At present, when the mega menu opens out, the main pictures on the website get hidden under the mega menu. I can try to limit the height of the mega menu to 200px, so was wondering if the rest could go lower when it opens out.2. There is a small gap between the main menu and the slider pictures/ text on all pages, in the header area ; (except on the home page) which is white in colour …. how can I remove that gap?
3. What should be the maximum width of my slider pictures, so that they cover the entire width of the screen; when viewed on any device.
