In forum: Pinnacle Theme
Sorry if this has been asked before, I couldn’t find any other posts about this in the forum.
I was wondering if it’s possible to manually enter the font settings in various places for the Pinnacle Premium Theme?
I want to set the fonts of my site to “‘Courier Sans MS’, sans-serif”. This isn’t actually an option in any of the font dropdown boxes, and I can’t manually type an entry in those settings boxes either. I tried using CSS to target the <body> element instead, but that appears to not be specific enough to actually work.
So what would The Powers That Be recommend as the best way for me to manually set the fonts on my site? I’d ideally like to affect all of the fonts on the entire site.
Thank you for your help and great product!

July 5, 2015 at 11:18 pm #48081Hey Joseph,
There doesn’t seem to be a single image loading on your site. so Lets start with jetpack, do you have “photon” enabled. have you tried disabling it if you do? (I recommend you keep that off regardless).
What types of files are you using?
Right now I see that you have the free theme installed. When you activated the premium theme did you turn the virtue/pinnacle toolkit off?
Also in your jetpack settings make sure you have turned there portfolio “custom post type” off.

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeThanks for your support on this issue! Ya’ll have awesome response times!
I am still looking into this little quirk about WordPress. For the time being, I just disabled any user access to the taxonomies of the site; it doesn’t seem like I really loose much user experience by doing that. …There are far more important things (like, you know, actual site content) to work on right now, so I’ve just tabled this for now. Thanks for the suggestion, though, I will likely put this code to use at some point.
I do have one question that might allow me to make a workaround solution. Is it possible to call a specific Portfolio gallery from within a blog post? Perhaps something similar to the code above, that will display call all of the images from a portfolio gallery (rather than just general Portfolios that match that category)? I was thinking that I could make a blog post announcing a new Portfolio gallery being added, then have the images from that Portfolio appear at the end of the post. Then I’d just use the taxonomies that I want on the blog post, and vicariously have it connected to the Portfolio item through the blog item. I know technically I could call all of the images with the [gallery] shortcode, but then I’d have to get all of the image ids and maintenance the gallery in two different places at once. …Not quite something I’d want to do.
Have a great day!
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Revolution Slider
Hi I cannot get the Revolution slider to show-up on the normal page, when logged in I am able to see the slider there. However, when I log onto a different browser as a normal user I cannot see the slide. Please help me 🙂
Here is the link to the website:
http://www.kamaitachilures.comIn forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Home Layout
Your slider can have links to any pages you want in your site. Those can be product category pages so when the person clicks on that image they’ll get the category.
I don’t have a full width slider right now on the home page but you can see the revolution slider I used with links to various product categories with each image (and a few are links to other site pages…) http://bit.ly/1FhnnMS You just put a link on each image in the revolution slider. That is a slider that comes with the Virtue theme. You build your home page content and have the slider in the content (if not full width) and if you want the regular full width slider, just choose one (like revolution slider) that lets you build a slider with links for each slide.
You can also do a shop page with each of your categories. Mine http://bit.ly/1cYU7NN here. It shows an image for each category. You choose to show categories (vs just products) in Woocommerce as I recall.
I’m sure Ben will come along with better responses, but I hope this is helpful to you! — Brenda

July 5, 2015 at 5:31 pm #48040Hey just FYI:
Looks like you have manually added in a script to your footer for google analytics or if your not you have a plugin that is? Remove that as it’s breaking the site. Then test.

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeTopic: Google Analytics Missing
Hi, not sure if you guys are aware of an issue with Google Analytics, seems many people are having no data over the past couple of weeks, I’m not sure what end it is happening on and more confusing is that I have one website that is still reporting data on G Analytics when the others are not, I cannot for the life of me figure out what might be causing it, if you have any ideas or know what is happening please let me know when you get a chance.
All my sites are using Pinnacle Pro and the latest version, the site that is still collecting data is still on the previous version of Pinnacle Pro.
thank you

In forum: Virtue ThemeJuly 5, 2015 at 5:14 pm #48034Hey,
So first off you have index.php in your url which is not normal and points to a larger issue then the portfolio permalinks. Also it looks like your using a temp domain. The best option is to leave your permalinks on default while on your on a temp domain then when you go to a live domain you can make sure to set up the site correctly without index.php in the url and you can use pretty permalinks settings like post title.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Website Speed Test
July 5, 2015 at 5:01 pm #48027Hey,
So in my experience 95% of site speed comes down to the quality of server you are using. That is the best place to start. If your using a low end, low price hosting then tempering your expectations for what you can get is necessary (although there is certainly things that you can do to help). Also speed test sites like pingdom and google page speed are really helpful but they should still be considered a tool. Run any major site like amazon through them and you will see a pretty low grade. So it’s important to note that the most important figure when checking a site is total load time. That is the think you want to focus on. I’ve seen many situations where I could get a better grade but the actual load time increased.
Now lets looks at your site and go through some suggestions.
Here is what I see: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/eqO1te/stonecircle.ie
First thing is the redirects. Your losing about 1.5 secs do to url redirects from stonecircle.ie to http://mindfulnessmeditationbooks.com/ to http://www.mindfulnessmeditationbooks.com/
So whatever domain you are making the primary that is the one you want to focus on getting your clicks through and that is a good one to do the testing on.
So I updated the pingdom: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/B0L8U/http://www.mindfulnessmeditationbooks.com/
Ok. Now your load time is around 3.9 sec.
Images
Your page size is good 1mb. This is where images come in. We recommend uploading larger images for good quality results in that you don’t want to have a 300×300 image filling a 1200x500px area. It stretches and looks bad. But that doesn’t mean uploading something like a 6000×6000 image. The biggest thing with images is to make sure the image resolution is 72ppi and is a compressed jpeg. The theme will resize most of your images for whats needed so when you upload a 1200x1200px image and it’s used in a 300px space the theme will create an image just for that place. (that is why we say upload larger images) but in the end those images still need to be uploaded as jpgs with the right ppi and image compression.
Your site being 1mb shows that this isn’t an issue. But in places where it makes the biggest differences is like in the revolution or Kadence Slider. Those images are uses as is so you want to make sure you upload the right size for what your doing. When it comes to things like post and galleries the theme does most of the resizing.
Caching
The next important point is caching. WordPress is a php based program of sorts which means it runs on a server and kicks out the html code once it’s ran through all the code. That html is what the browser reads. What caching does is copies that html and saves it so that the next person to view the site can see the html right way without the server having to run all the php code. This can help speed especially on low end servers. In my experience the best plugin I’ve used for this is WP rocket http://wp-rocket.me/ it’s premium though so comes at a cost.
For a great free plugin you can use w3 total cache. The only real downside of this is it’s more complex and harder to get set up perfect but it’s a very powerful plugin. Every server is a little different so there isn’t any perfect do this option but in general I suggest turning on page caching, minify auto, and browser caching. The others are good things to test with but you need to take the time to test with those settings like database caching.
Minify
Next thing is minify the two plugins above do this for you but basically it just means they clump some/all your css files together and some/all your javascript files together so instead of 20 different files you end up with like 5. This can help with page speed. For you I suggest either one of those plugins they would make a big impact on your site.
Now I should go and write a blog post about all this.
Hope that helps,
Ben
In forum: Pinnacle ThemeHi there. I am trying to use the homepage carousel, but it just keeps spinning. However, when I disable it the home page works again. You cannot see the admin bar, search, and cart do not work. In the mobile layout, and the menu does not work. I did a fresh install of wordpress on the site last night. I tried creating it on another site and the same issue occurred. What should I do? Has anyone experienced similar issues? Any help would be appreciated. I’m trying to get the site done within the next couple of days. This is the only thing that is holding me up.

In forum: Virtue ThemeJuly 5, 2015 at 4:22 pm #48023Hey sorry for the delay.
Yeah so one possible solution is in one the of links you sent, Add this in a text widget in a footer widget area of your site.
<script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function ($) { $("iframe").each(function(){ var ifr_source = $(this).attr('src'); var wmode = "wmode=transparent"; if(ifr_source.indexOf('?') != -1) $(this).attr('src',ifr_source+'&'+wmode); else $(this).attr('src',ifr_source+'?'+wmode); }); }); </script>Ben
In forum: Pinnacle ThemeTopic: Pinnacle Documentation FYI
I’m still working on my site and so far I haven’t got any questions that I haven’t found answers for in the forums already but I did have a couple of FYI’s.
The first is when customizing the theme on the “Advanced Styling” section.
There’s a note by “Body Background” section that doesn’t seem to apply to this theme:
“Body Background
This shows if site is using the boxed layout option.”When I read that, I started looking for that option just to see what it looked like more than a genuine interest in using it. Not finding it, I searched in the forum and found another support topic where it was stated outright that Pinnacle doesn’t have a boxed layout, so that bit of text (if not the option?) should probably be removed?
The other item I found while editing a product category but it carries over to tags and is on post categories and tags as well. It’s a typo for one of the options for “Display Page Title” – Default is spelled Defualt. Not a big deal but it jumps out at me every time I’m on that page. 🙂
Thanks!
Mark
In forum: Virtue ThemeHi there– I can’t seem to find the place to change the default font color for the Virtue Image Menu. I don’t wish to change font itself, but I suppose that would be the same place. I’ve got the default as 444 (dark gray) and while that used to be the default for my site tagline (only other place I found the color) I can’t find where it’s set for the Virtue Image Menu. Please advise.
Also–I’d like to use carousels that are formatted exactly as the default home page “Featured Products” and “Latest Blog Posts” in particular, I wanted to put Featured Products in my home page content (for organization reasons) so I turned off the Home page “Featured Products” and pulled a Featured Products carousel into the page content. But, doing it that way for products carousel in a page right now my site is set up so the descriptions, etc are included whereas the home page defaults are slicker w/o that. Similar, the “Latest Blog posts” that I like (default Virture setup) have pic and sidebar excerpt and I can’t for the life of me figure out how to recreate this using the carousel. Finally–the home page defaults have centered text “Featured Products” and centered text “Latest Blog Posts” whereas it is left justified when I pull a carousel into a page. Your help on any and all of figuring out where to change this formatting via Theme Options (or css) is appreciated.
Thanks.
