Hi there, i’m an absolute beginner and i’m trying the whole day to configure my new two-columns blog-page to be my first page of my website, but I can not make it. In best case, the coulmns are shown on the blog page but never never on the first page “Startseite”. I think it’s a setting thing, what I have to do??? Sorry for the (maybe) stupid question, but i disapear… 🙁

Ive tried [blog_posts items=”4″ cat=”photos”] and nothing happens!

Hi,

need to build a small multilanguage site and i have the .com, .de and .eu of the same domain.
I’d like to install and build the site at “domain.de”
The “domain.com” and “domain.eu” will redirect to “domain.de” site. Is there a way to automatically choose the language depending on the link choosen by the visitor ? …if the visitor typed “domain.com” in his browser he will land in the english version, the “domain.de” in german and so on ?

Yes it does help.
but right now the side bar only appears in my blog post after i click on it. on the blog post feed it doesnt appear. may i ask where do i go to fix that? or where should i go to to trouble shoot.

Also the recent posts in the demo has mini thumbnails to it. may i know where i can go to actually activate that on my site?

Sorry, I didn’t make myself clear. There is no problem uploading the font and using it for general category (title 1, title 2, etc…). It is when I want to make a specific use of the font such as defining the title of my site in theme options> logo option that I can’t use the font. Therefore I was thinking about modifying the css concerned. What do you think ?

No idea. I don’t use godaddy, don’t know how they set up there sites. But I can tall you based on error above your development site doesn’t have permissions to run “mkdir”. I suggest just contacting godaddy and getting them to figure out why.

Both are godaddy sites, why would there be a difference between the prod and the dev site.

I did not have to enable any mkdir on the prod site??

Your server for the dev site doesn’t have “mkdir” enabled. Contact your host and have them enable that function.

I have made a dev copy of the WP site with virtue.
The site works, but somehow the theme will not let me save anything and throws one error right from the start

Warning: mkdir(): Permission denied in /home/vgitdev/public_html/wp-content/themes/virtue_premium/themeoptions/inc/class.redux_filesystem.php on line 132

The site is a backup and a restore of home directory and database.
The site works. but I can almost change nothing without errors.

Is the original URL hard coded into the theme somewhere?
vgitdev.com is the dev site
the original is vgitservices.com
i need a dev to work on before changing anything on production.

So, You mean RSS feed is already installed with wordpress. So what do I do to facilitate user subscription to my website via these RSS Feeds, and have my blog posts sent to their email.

Hey,
I had updated all my sites from 1.3.5 to 1.3.6 earlier with no issues. Based on what your saying above I would guess there was a hiccup on your server during the first try. It’s hard to know. Regardless it shouldn’t happen that you have a failed update. One thing to check is to look at your php settings. The max execution time, max memory and max upload size. Contact your host and ask them to increase those.

This is almost perfect, except for two things.

1. In the blog page, the active tab is losing the background color when selected. When the page is loading, b/g colors of both tabs are visible, but when you click the inactive tab, only the other tab is retaining the b/g color. (The product description tabs are not facing this issue, and are perfectly done).

2. The bottom border in the blog page is still showing somehow. Would like that to be removed.

Its almost done, except point no 3. (I have applied the CSS on the site, so you can take a look).

1. Here you are right, I want different background colors for the active and inactive tabs and also font colors (#a00e11 and #c42125, font color: white ). I need the hover color to be grey.

2. I just need the top border and not the side and bottom borders. The CSS sent by you earlier needs to be modified accordingly.

In this regard, it is possible to give the tabs on the product pages of the site a similar style like in these tabs, so that site gets an uniform look? Here is a sample page for you to consider.

Need some help in styling the single post pages on my site. I have a few queries, hope you wont mind.

Please take a look at this page:

1. The font color of the following elements are dark grey, and difficult to read. Need to change these to some lighter color, like #b7b7b7.
a. Author Name and Designation
b. “Latest posts from <author name>” under the Latest Posts tab
c. Post excerpt in the Similar Post Carousel
Is a CSS needed for this, or any setting in the Theme Options needs to be changed?

2. Can the vertical distance between the Jetpack sharing widget and the tabs below it be increased a bit?

3. The “About Author” and “Latest Posts” tabs look ugly now. I want to change the background & font colors of the active and inactive tabs, add hover effects and add a bottom white border across the page. Is that possible?

4. Am noticing that the post excerpts under Similar Posts are of different lengths, though in the theme options I have set it to 40. How can I make them of equal length? Is there any way to turn off the post excerpt totally, and only display the image and title of the similar posts?

I need these changes to be effected in all blog posts, and not only the example page I have cited here.
