ok, sorry i must not be explaining well. I was trying to explain that you need to replace the example shortcodes : [desktop slider shortcode] with real ones as those will not do anything.

[desktop slider shortcode] is just an example. Not something that should end up on your site.

Perhaps if you can send me a login I could set this up for you and that would be better?

Hmm, so in Main WP you are not adding any functions to run on the site.

What happens if you turn off the branding option.

I don’t know what that plugin is doing to create the WPML issue.

What other Gutenberg plugins are you using? Strangely on your site a css file that is not meant to be loaded on the front end is being loaded. It’s not from the theme or WordPress 5.0.3

Hi Ben,
another idea: Email signup forms easily connectable with email marketing providers (like mailchimp or clevereach.de) – often these providers are good a sending mails, but the form builder is clunky at best and the forms look awful on any site built with your beautiful themes… and technically it is beyond me how to connect ie. a cleverreach form with a designed email signup-form. I always need my team to do this thing…
So how about theme-fitting variety of signup-forms, where I only need to add some code from the “ugly” forms created at ie. cleverreach.
This would solve an issue for me

The css sounded like the better option to me but that didn’t work. The shortcode worked in acheiving a single column but then I lost the ability to filter the staff.

Here is the preview page where I’m trying to create a single column. Right now the shortcode is used to show what that does and the regular staff grid is below.

Any other suggestions? Should I just add the css to the style.css file using the editor?

Hello,

You can add a shortcode to show the staff in single column:
[staff_posts orderby=date items=12 columns=1]

You would just add that to any text editor on your site.

Another option is to add this CSS to Theme Options> Advanced Settings:

.staff div#staffwrapper .s_item {
    width: 100%;
    float: left;
}

Let me know if that works for you.

At this point I don’t suggest you do this, it’s more the manage and instead I would suggest using a plugin like this:

But if you are set on using a function you need to match ‘My Account’ exactly. On the site you linked to you have “My account” as the menu item missing the capital A.

I just tested on my site and I’m able to add a background image in the category edit screen.

I suggest testing for a plugin conflict by deactivating your plugins one by one to see if you’re able to properly edit when a certain plugin is OFF.

I added the custom CSS code to omit header titles (Home / Archives: Hotels – Page 1) from showing in the Hotel Filter Search results page of my site it works on desktop but the header titles are still showing up on mobile devices when you conduct a Hotel Filter Search.

Hi there

I have removed the custom CSS from the site to see if it is affecting the Body font CSS, but it doesn’t seem to have changed.

When I manipulate the body font under the theme typography settings it changes the style of the bullet points only and the line spacing amongst all the text on the page, but doesn’t change the font of the main bulk of the text.

Can you please advise why this might be happening and what I can do about it?

Hi Hannah,

yes I’ve read this post before and I’ve done all of those things to the best I can do without compromising functionality and/or loss of quality.
The only further thing I can do is upgrade the hosting to one with more nodes as I/O is the main limitation however this site is not in the bottom 20%. Its quicker than most in its niche.

With the shrink header option, maybe the javascript that makes it happen executes out of sequence or maybe because the header section isn’t cached?

I only noticed this happen with a recent theme update though…in the meantime i’ll turn off the shrink head option.

Did you read through the post I sent? You can test your site speed here: https://tools.pingdom.com/#5a13f71131c00000 It looks like your images are slowing things down a bit. Check out the images section of the post I linked to.
