In reply to: Row Layout – Image Size Suggestions?
As long as you’re running a cache on your site, compressing the images before uploading, and not using images that are huge, then you shouldn’t notice any difference in speed. And the images would look very bad on displays with high pixel density such as mac retina displays.
Retina displays, for example, have double the pixel density of most other screens. This requires that images be loaded at 2x their image size in order to display an image that’s the same as a regular screen. Does that make sense?
WordPress and the theme will generate different sized images that will display based on the browser/device your site visitor is using. This is just to make sure there is always a clearly visible version of your image no matter who is seeing your site.
Hopefully that clears things up!
This post has some great tips for improving your site speed:

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeHi,
I am building a very large website that I would like to change out the sidebar to each and every posts which would be impractical in the widget area to manage with any basic Customize Sidebar plugin that’s out there. Is it possible to edit/modify each page or posts of the sidebars in the Appearance / Customize area? I notice it is set to modify and change from the homepage, I don’t know if this is by default and can be changed.
Thanks.
Dawn
In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: aspect ratios of images throughout the site
Hi Hannah,
no, that didn’t help. My problem is that the aspect ratio of my photos is usually 2:3. However, if I upload those photos into the Pinnacle theme, they get cropped. For example: I create a blog post and I want my photo as a featured image. If I create a standard post, then the 2:3 pic will be displayed entirely. If I create a gallery with an image slider, then the bottom of the photo gets cropped. If I create an image post, then the sides of my photo will get cropped.
It seems that the theme uses different aspect ratios throughout the whole site… so it would be great if you could provide those ratios, so that I can upload photos that fit those sizes. Like: the Portfolio Image Slider is 16:9, the Portfolio Alt Style pics are 4:3 etc.
Can you help me with that?
Thanks,
AgiIn forum: Virtue ThemeVirtue Premium theme for my WordPress website appears to be constantly consuming huge queries for MySQL database query limit for its proper functionality. Due to which the query limit might have exceeded and caused the website to be down and revert to /wp-admin/install.php page with 403 Forbidden- “You don’t have permission to access /wp-admin/install.php on this server”. Query limit needs to be reset all the time for the website to come back up and then down again. At the same time, my WP Dashboard login page will also revert to /wp-admin/install.php page and I am unable to login to WP Dashboard.
This has been happening for 5 days since the last few latest updates and as soon as I switch to a different theme, my website is up and running with no problems.

Actually, I think this is what you will need to stop the background from repeating:
div#content-wrap { background-repeat: no-repeat !important; background-size: cover !important; }Are you wanting that across your whole site, or just specific pages?

Take a look at this thread and try downloading the plugin from the links that they posted:

November 28, 2018 at 1:48 pm #209363I’m not sure what you are asking, sorry! I’m just a little lost.
You still have not set the white logo to be your transparent logo in your theme options > site header. Is that intentional?
Can you clarify what you still need? Perhaps send a login to your site?
Ben
In forum: Virtue ThemeHi, I have two questions that I’m sure are not an overly complicated fix.
1) When I go to the posts/blog page on my website, it displays a preview of the text with a “read more” tab below. How do I make it so that just the meta description/post excerpt show?
2) I cannot write more than a couple short sentences on my “home” page without it being cut off and a “read more” tab added. I would really love to have the text at the top, followed by the image icons. How do I remove the “read more” tab from the home page and allow more text to be added?
My website is http://www.interiorflyfishingco.com, the blog page is http://www.interiorflyfishingco.com/blog

November 28, 2018 at 12:27 pm #209335Hey,
I’m not sure I understand what you are asking. “customer friendly” are you wanting users to create blog posts for your site? Please clarify what you mean, thanks! In forum: Membership ForumsIn reply to: How to hide API License Activation
November 28, 2018 at 12:12 pm #209327If you want to hide the interworkings of a site then you would need to give the client a nonadmin account where they didn’t have access to manage things like themes, plugins etc.
Otherwise, you could add custom css in a child theme for the admin that hide parts for specific users using the user class in the body tag.

*Login to see linkIn forum: Ascend ThemeI was given the following language as a suggestion for the site I am working on. Does your theme and WP provide these types of retention options? I am send this to WP-Members plug in support as well.
Just trying to finalize the language for it. This is new territory for my learning curve. Note the retention durations given. Have no idea if this is applicable to my site. Thanks for your input on this.

I hired a programmer to place the Kadence slider on event pages created by The Events Calendar by Modern Tribe. I have two development sites and I updated one of them today with the latest theme update. After the update the slider disappeared on some pages:Event page category as it should look (no theme update)
Event page category without slider after updating.
Also this view was affected:
Coming Events page without sliderAre there any solutions to prevent the modifications from being cleared when updating? Is this something that could be solved with a child theme?

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeHi,
could you please help me in finding out the exact aspect ratios that the theme uses for displaying images throughout the site? For example: Portfolio Alt Style, Portfolio Image Slider, Blog Standard, Blog Grid, etc.
I would like to upload photos that best fit the available space and that don’t need to be cropped.
Thanks a lot,
AgiIn forum: Pinnacle ThemeHi everyone,
I imported the Demo into my Pinnacle theme (I did a reset beforehand) and it seems that the Contact Us page did not get imported properly. In the demo it is full-width: *Login to see link …but on my page it shows as a small square in the top left corner. Here is a screenshot:
*Login to see linkI did this on 2 websites even, and the result is always the same. 🙁
Could you please help me in fixing this?
Thanks,
AgiIn forum: Membership ForumsIn reply to: Images not centering in Row Layout
In forum: Membership ForumsNovember 27, 2018 at 7:38 pm #209272I’m using WordPress 4.9.8, Kadence Blocks 1.1.5 – I used Row Layout, 3 evenly spaced columns. In each column I put a title, a photo, and a paragraph or two of text. I centered the titles and photos – which looks fine in editing mode, but when viewing the page the photos are left justified, not centered. This is on a password-protected prototyping site, so I can’t supply an easy URL for viewing.
