My client’s Ascend site has a red topbar with a lot of text links and icons (all white), one of which is the search icon. Is it possible to customize the Search icon so it stands out a little more? i.e. code a white block background for the icon and make the icon itself red?

We currently have a few sites developed with Virtue Premium and with the pending WordPress 5 with Gutenberg, I’m planning for the update (whenever that might be).

Will upgrading to WP5 risk breaking our Virtue websites? They don’t have any over the top modifications, mainly simple CSS edits in the Child Theme.

I’m guessing this has to do with a plugin or something on your server. I can’t replicate the issue on my test site at all. I’ll keep looking, but I think we’re going to have to wait for the theme developer to return to find the root of the issue.

He should be back tonight, but I’ll flag this for a developer followup so that he can help ASAP. At the latest, this should be sorted out tonight.

Hi Kevin

This is the same problem as above outlined. I am building another website: https://www.exelcouriers.co.uk, the footer menu (please see the screenshot here: https://imgur.com/a/OhYyjK9) having the same problem that spread over 2 lines.

I know you have provided a code for my last request: Try adding this CSS to Theme Options> Advanced Settings and let me know if it works for you: #containerfooter .menu li a {
max-width: 140px;
}

But this time this same code isn’t working on my new website. I am not sure what is going on. Could you please help me?

It should be available within a week or two. I’m not sure, but since Gutenberg will be a part of core in a few weeks, expect it to be available before then.

As for that link, it really doesn’t make a difference. You’ll be able to edit with page builder if you want, or you can use our Kadence Blocks plugin in conjunction with the new editor. It’s all up to your own personal preferences.

If they recommend not implementing that on your site yet, then you should probably wait. I suggest just testing the available options and finding one that works best for you.

Found this Site Origin link also on how to activate page builder within Guten draft page. https://siteorigin.com/siteorigin-widgets-in-gutenberg/
I guess that means if I work within Guten pages, page builder will be available. But it’s in beta stage. They only recommend using it on Guten test/demo pages and not production pages. What do you think?

I guess I assumed your Kadence Blocks plugin would rectify the Site Origin or any other issue. My choice right now I imagine is to create the pages from the Gutenberg pages I saved as draft or wait to replace the content demo with your Gutenberg version.

Do you know when your Gutenberg version will be available?

If it’s not going to be available any time soon, I will start working on the Gutenberg pages I saved as drafts before adding any other plug ins (i.e. Coming Soon, Enhanced Media Library, User Role Editor).

I really want to use the header image shown. I am hoping to get a little more height on the image so the subtitle words don’t run into the ice as they currently do – making them harder to read. I do not have any more width to work with, so I can’t re-size that way.

Something is preventing the output of the mobile nav on your site. Nothing obvious seems to be wrong, likely it is a plugin interfering with the theme functionality that’s causing this.

I would start by deactivating your cache, then turning off your active plugins one by one, testing the menu when each plugin is OFF to see if there is a conflict.

Let me know if you find anything.

Hello,

That seems like it probably has to do with your server settings. I suggest contacting your host to see what the memory limit and max execution time settings are for your site. If it’s lower than 256 megabytes, or the time of at least 300, then I would have them increase those settings and retest.

My friend asked me to put a background on his website only for the homepage. I can’t manage to put a full width/height background with the content of the homepage in front. It would be nice of the footer and menu were transparent too but it doesn’t seem to work with the theme options > Advanced styling.

I tried to put a homeslider with the kadence slider but that does not works for me.

Can anyone please help me?

Sorry, I’m not quite sure what you’re asking. Infinite scroll is meant for archive pages when you don’t want to use pagination. I’m not sure how this would apply to a single post page. Can you please elaborate? What is the link to your site?

Hi Sharon,
Your API license email is the email associated with your Kadence account.
We are currently in the process of adding our Kadence Gutenberg Demo to the importer (https://themes.kadencethemes.com/ascend-5/), however, it is not available just yet.
The current demos were created using Page Builder by Siteorigin. If you want to use the Gutenberg editor instead I would actually suggest creating new pages as the pages built with siteorigin will not transfer fluidly.
