In forum: Ascend ThemeHi there . . . Firstly, LOVE your themes! While I’m getting to be a wizard using theme, I have one very quick question (I checked support forums, and tutorials and couldn’t find answer). Call me stupid, but trying to figure out how you managed to get the menu BELOW the vertical slider? Specifically, using Wanderlust as an example, we see 3 slides appear above the menu area. While I’m sure it would have been much simpler to download this demo, unfortunately, I just showed someone this — and they love it (site pretty much built already). Help me please and thank you!

August 24, 2018 at 9:33 am #199908We don’t plan to change classes so your css will still override. When the large changes are ready they will be pushed out as a beta for those with child themes to test with before we push 5.0 live to sites. At that point will highlight possible areas a child theme will need to be updated.

August 24, 2018 at 9:22 am #199901dax-regular isn’t a font on your site. You are overriding all the fonts to be this in css but it’s not an available font. If you are trying to manually load it then you have something wrong because it’s not loading on the site.
How are you adding dax-regular.

In forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: Theme Support for Gutenberg?
August 24, 2018 at 5:55 am #199875Hey,
So Gutenberg isn’t going to replace Page builders just be another option. Check out this post: https://www.kadencewp.com/wordpress-5-0-bringing-gutenberg-editor-to-core/If you have a rhythm with a builder then I suggest you stay with that builder. If you have a site built with a builder then I really suggest you keep things as they are. SiteOrigin has always been one of our favorites and all our themes extend it a little bit.
Kadence Blocks just allows you to use Gutenberg as an alternative and because of the row layout block you can create a lot of the content that would otherwise require a page builder.
I hope that helps.

August 24, 2018 at 5:42 am #199871Hey,
1. This has to do with you loading from a different domain then your site. If you are not going to load your assets and fonts through the domain but a separate domain you have to set the CORS policy: No ‘Access-Control-Allow-Origin’ to allow access.
See the whole error:
Access to Font at 'http://www.praxis1080.at/kinesiologie/wp-content/themes/virtue_premium/assets/css/fonts/virtue_icons.ttf' from origin 'http://www.magdalenastampfer.at' has been blocked by CORS policy: No 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' header is present on the requested resource. Origin 'http://www.magdalenastampfer.at' is therefore not allowed access.I suggest you simply load all your resources through the domain you want to use but your host can also help you set the header to allow assets to be accessed from other domains.
2. I don’t believe there is a way to make the arrows work within polylang. I can look into this again, WPML had a hook that allows this to work but you may just have to not use the arrows with polylang because of how ploylang sets up the posts. Can you send me a login to your site I can take a look.

BenIn forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Image scaling
August 24, 2018 at 5:24 am #199865The browser it only telling you the size its shows on the site. You are loading the full image. And you would need to talk with the plugin author about the best way to load hte correct thumbnail so it’s not loading the full image.

August 24, 2018 at 5:22 am #199864There will be a few new options but the goal will not be to make Ascend something less or irrelevant. Ascend approaches the header area totally different then virtue and that won’t ever really change.
As performance upgrades are done they will be pushed to other themes if those themes don’t have them. Ascend already has some of these optimizations.
In terms of faster it’s hard to say. with an optimized site, virtue can load instantly because of caching. I would guess if you don’t run caching you could notice a difference but how much would depend on your server speed, internet speed and what else the site is loading.

In forum: Virtue ThemeHello,
I’m busy to build a site for a client.
For the frontpage I’m building a Revolution slider I used the template: landing page – no header, that’s perfect how it works! Now I will build a contactpage (with the standard contactpage of Virtue) and also here I’ll use a revolution slider above the contactform and whithout a header.
Is there a solution how I can fix this?

August 24, 2018 at 2:25 am #199855So relly most of it is more about optimization and backend stuff, correct? So no real layout and theme option changes?
I am just interested because I am currently setting up a few sites with Ascend that are quite urgent, but of course now I am very curious how the new Virtue would work…
How much faster and lighter will it be do you expect?

Hi, Ben,
I’m confused about the purpose of Kadence Blocks. Somewhere in the theme docs, Kadence recommends using SiteOrigin’s Page Builder. That advice has served me well (thanks), since the native WordPress editor is pretty much worthless in 2018.
Is Kadence planning on Kadence Blocks eventually becoming a competitor of Page Builder? Does Kadence Blocks currently do anything that Page Builder doesn’t?
Thank you.
Edit: Just saw this, so I amend above to “SiteOrigin’s Page Builder, et al.”

August 23, 2018 at 9:52 am #199793I find it very odd that you would change the css I sent when adding it to your site.
Perhaps you were trying after you didn’t think my css worked? If so then perhaps you are expecting this css to affect desktop screens. Which it’s not set to do. The css is for mobile. If you want to affect desktop screens you would need to remove the media query and just use:
div.product h1.product_title { font-size:14px; }Ben
