Thanks so much for brainstorming with me the best way to achieve this.

I think I should clarify a little more.

I design graphics for t-shirts that are then purchased through Amazon.

There are 21 color options for a t-shirt of which I can choose up to 5.
This means each t-shirt could have a different combination of 5 color options depending on what looks best with the design.

Given I will have hundreds of designs I am putting on the website I am trying to find the most economic way of including the color options when creating a new product.

This is why I loved the idea of when I created a new t-shirt I could just click the color attribute and chose from the 21 options I have inputted there.

So I don’t need it to function likes swatches of a variable product because the customer won’t actually make a color choice until they’re on Amazon. I simply want them to know what their color choices will be.

But now that you’re throwing out ideas I realize I may need to clarify color choice will made once they click the purchase button.

I guess I could also create swatch images as Kevin suggested and add them as an image gallery. It just seems more labor intensify when you start getting into the hundreds.

I am not using a child theme.

I hope that clarifies. I’ll try and play with some of your suggestions.

Hey,

So this all boils down to one issue. You are using a very old version of the theme. 1.5.4

The latest version is 2.1.4

It is because you have not updated the theme that you don’t have the latest options to update those plugins.

So I simply went into your site updated the theme to the latest version. (it’s possible you had updated once already but that would just have meant you were so so far back that you need to stage jump update. Meaning you would go from 1.2.3 to 1.5.4 instead of all the way on the first update).

I updated your plugins, (you will need to activate your license I don’t know which email you used to purchase so I couldn’t look it up for you).

Now that you are using an up to date rev slider you can use php7.

Can’t stress enough how important it is to update wordpress, themes and plugins.

In Theme Options > Layout Settings you can set the Site Layout Max-Width to 940px. Does that work for you?

Sorry the site is not live yet. But I changed my theme to Ascend for more flexibility and that’s working. Now I’m wondering how to decrease the side margins by 20% in Ascend.

Hey Gabi,

No, the Revolution Slider license is only valid for one site using Virtue Theme. You would have to purchase a new license for other sites. The Kadence Slider is pretty capable though, so if you want to try and build a slider with that, we’ll be happy to help.

It seems as though the plugin wasnt installed completely, or something in your server is blocking it from working properly. The first thing I would try is deleting the plugin from your site, then re-installing from a fresh download here:

Hello, I currently have one of my sites that I created using your Virtue theme and I’m considering updating the look and flow with ascend. I know that using the kadence importer for the shop demo – ascend requires a blank site. Is there a way to import the shop demo – ascend without losing my posts, images on my dashboard?

Hi Team,
On this site, on all pages apart from home, on screen widths less than 768px, the “Documents & Forms” button moves from level with the title to a position below the faint line. This happens even where there would be room for the button level with the title.

Is there a way to keep the button level with the title on smaller screens, until there is no room for it and it has to move?

Keeping this post about php:

I have now updated pinnacle, updated all plugins and updated to the latest version of wordpress. (been a bit slack on that front)

Problem 1:

Settings with PHP5:

This is slightly confusing because previously the site was working perfectly, however after we upgraded the php to 7 we got an error message. But downgrading the php to 5 the error message would disappear and the site would be back to normal. However now even when we change the php to 5 we get the following error message: (this is the same message for php 5 and php 7)

From the error message you might be able to quickly work out that the error is in the rev-slider (from the plugin revolution slider) when we are on php 5, wordpress allows us to activate the plugin and previously the sites (home page) would function normally, now even with the plugin activated in php 5 the home page is corrupted and shows the error message above.

Settings with PHP 7:

Opt 1
If we start with php 5 and deactivate the plugin revolution slider (we used this plug in to display large images on the home page), and change the settings to php 7 we get the same error message above on our home page (all other pages work fine apart from one exception which I will explain after)

Opt 2
If we change to php 7 with revolution slider activated we can’t even log in to word press.

Opt 3
If we change to php 7 with revolution slider deactivated but try to activate it, an error message comes up to tell us that revolution slider does not exist (and I believe them haha)

Revolution Slider plugin is provided by theme punch and I now see that they ask us to pay for their revolution slider plugin. So I guess there is no way to get this function back on our site and we will have to re build the home page using another slider? (we used this slider because it was part of pinnacle when we purchase it, however I don’t know if this is the case now?)

Problem 2 (php 5 and php 7) :

our home page does display if we log into word press (but does not show any images where the slider was previously) but when we click on the link that directs us to:

http://2islandtravellers.com/who/ (this link is directly below the slider, and on the pinnacle demo ( http://themes.kadencethemes.com/pinnacle-premium/ ) its called “Winter Clothing Specials Shop Here”

It does not go to that link (we tested the two links next to it URL /why/ and URL /where/ and they work fine) but I can view this page by typing the URL /who/ into the address bar, there is also another problem with /who/ if you look at that URL you will see that under the title “Our Travel History” has nothing underneath. Previously in php 5 with the revolution slider activated this information was displayed, please see the first line of information:

But the thing I don’t understand is we didn’t edit this information with revolution slider and it was something that was already built into the pinnacle theme, but somewhere its been removed when we updated to php 7 and the revolution slider de activated.

Is it possible to add a title or something to the Home Image Menu. It goes after the icon menu on my page, so everything I add to the home page main content is added above the icon menu. And the image menu itself doesn’t have this option.

Hey,

This is not a default feature of wordpress. You’re likely using a plugin on one site that’s adding this, where the other site doesn’t have the plugin.

I know this is a feature of Jetpack, so I would first check there.

I should just have text that I copy to each Topic that starts, “Sorry I have to ask this…”

On one of my sites, the “Get Shortlink” button is available in “Edit Page”. However, in the other site we have, that button is missing. I’m assuming that I selected (or deselected) something on the second site. Where can I reactivate that button option?

I looked to see if there was a plug-in on one of the sites that was missing on the other, but it doesn’t seem like it.

Any ideas?
