    Okay, Kevin,

    I deleted the text widget where I had placed the short code…thinking that was how to place the KSP slider.

    So problem is now resolved. I understand what you were asking me to do. I just confused, because I thought if I deleted I would lose slider.

    Question: When you create a KSP slide…how does the plugin know where I want the slide placed?

    Thank you,
    Pam

    Kevin,

    Let me see if we can approach this a bit differently.

    I decided to use the Kadence Slider Pro plugin, instead of standard home slider.

    I placed a text widget at the top of the page where I could insert Kadence Slider Pro’s shortcode so that the slider would appear under the Header/Logo.

    I added the other widgets following the Slider Pro. I didn’t add another text widget. See screen shot.

    On the Home Layout I have Latest Posts and Image Menu selected.

    What did I do wrong that is making the prompt text showup saying it couldn’t find slider?

    I’m confused.

    Thank you,
    Pam

    Did you delete the shortcode/text widget? If you delete the slider you need to remove the shortcode too.

    Thank you Hannah that worked with a little extra tweaking from the widget 🙂

    #224897

    <laughing> Oh, dear, we can’t afford for both of us to be confused. I’m counting on you. 😉

    Let me walk through my steps.

    I place the shortcode in the text widget initially, because I thought that’s what I was suppose to do to place my Kadence Pro Slider.

    Are you saying that is not how to execute the location of the Kadence Pro Slider? What did I do wrong?

    Thank, Pam

    #224896

    I’m confused. In the initial screenshot you shared, you wanted to remove the white space that was being caused by the duplicate slider. Now the slider is showing. If you want to remove it, then you simply need to delete the text widget.

    The other instance of the slider is being added in Theme Options> Home Page Layout.

    Okay, forgive me, I want to clarify.

    I placed the shortcode in the first text widget. That’s where I want the slider.

    Where is the second slider coming from? I want to remove that one so that will close the space and allow the Latest Posts and the Image Menu to follow one another.

    Does that make sense?

    Thank you,
    Pam

    The slider is being added with shortcode to the first text widget.

    That space is from a slider that’s being added to a text widget in page builder. the reason it isn’t showing is because you can’t load the same slider twice on the page.

    I wasn’t aware that I loaded the same slider on the page twice. I didn’t see it. But thank you, Kevin, for correcting. I appreciate your help.:)

    I installed a fresh, new instance of WP with the Virtue Premium theme, then used Kadence Importer to import the demo content. After doing so and looking at the homepage, the ONLY content in the editor is the call to action. Yet, the live site shows everything! Odd that the other page content seems to be hidden somewhere within the backside, but magically shows on the live side. I was mainly wanting to see what kind of widget or content type the “Latest from the Blog” was (see attached image). I figured it was some kind of “recent post” but the demo content formatting looks WAY different than my real site when I use ANY of the ‘recent post’ widgets – editing with Elementor. I thought maybe it’s a widget specific to SiteOrigin or something else. But I can’t get to that content in the backend of the demo content to study it. I even ran the importer a second time, but to no avail.

    Incidentally, the Kadence site page that links to the Kadence Importer ( also downloads an out of date version of the plugin. Upon installing, it immediately asked me to update the plugin, which I did. Easy enough, but it seems the main landing page for the plugin should link to the latest version.

    I’ve duplicated the slider and edited the shortcode so now it’s showing.

    Hello,

    You can achieve this by adding the posts to your home page content or home widget area. Firstly, go to Theme Options> Home Layout, and make sure either the page content or the widget area are active, depending on which you want to use.

    Then, you can add the posts via a text widget or into the text editor within your home page content with shortcode like this:
    [blog_grid orderby=date items=4 columns=2]

    You can find the full shortcode options here:
    http://docs.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/shortcodes/

    Another option would be to use the post grid/carousel block in Kadence Blocks to add the posts to your page content:
    https://www.kadenceblocks.com/docs/configure-a-blog-list-with-post-grid-carousel-block/

    That tutorial shows how to build a blog list, but you can set it up the way you’re wanting in the settings.

    Let me know if this is helpful for you!

    Hey,
    Any image type should work.

    Try this in your widget settings what happens if you select a size instead of custom does it then work?

    Got the menu centered using the below.

    #nav-main ul.sf-menu, .nav-main ul.sf-menu {
    position:absolute;
    left:50%;top:0;
    margin-left:-375px;
    width:100%;
    list-style:none;
    }

    But now just the widgets to float right. I have this css from the plugin but does not work.

    .yawp_wim_wrap a .menu-item-type-yawp_wim .menu-item-object-yawp_wim {
    width: auto !important;
    float: right !important;
    display: inline-block;
    }

    Ascend Theme –Recent Posts widget not displaying in the Header, no matter which Header style we choose.

    The Posts display fine in ANY OTHER widget area.
    Tried to display recent Posts with other plugins and shortcodes without success. Shortcodes either show the whole Post and run over or makes the entire header area spaz out.

    All plugins are current.

    Hey Greta,
    Sorry for the delay! Have you tested this widget on any other pages? Is the same thing happening?
    I would first suggest updating your page builder and site origin widgets bundle plugins. You’re also on a pretty old version of the theme. Please update that as well and let me know if there’s no change after doing so.

    Hi guys,

    Just trying to get the menu centered on entire page (not just from the logo).

    Also have widgets in menu plugin installed (buttons) and wanting those to be positioned to the right.

    Is that possible?

    #224730

    Hi Kevin,

    I found the problem which is a photo using pinnacle widget image:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function pinnacle_get_image() in /home/wildern6/public_html/wp-content/themes/pinnacle_premium/lib/widgets/class-kad-image-widget.php on line 73

    The image is a png file. Does the widget only accept JPEG files? Can that be the problem?
