After updating just a bit ago to Virtue 4.8.4, now I cannot edit ANY pages on the site. (I just get a white screen when trying to edit a page.) This is kind of an emergency, because I MUST launch a new page (isn’t quite done, and now I can’t edit – gah!) by first thing in the morning tomorrow, which is in about 6 hours (my time) here on the East coast of the US.

Here is the site:

I also can’t edit any Widgets. Suddenly, no widgets are showing in the Widgets area of the site, and I can’t expand screen options. (And I desperately need to update one of the widgets, too!!!) Everything was fine yesterday, and suddenly this happens now overnight tonight during a new page launch… (Updates just break things too often. I SWEAR I need to stop updating entirely. So many problems!)

Please help!!! (I’m following-up with a private email with credentials, etc.)

Hey Phil,
1. Try adding this to your custom css:

.past-issues-search-results .sdm_fancy2_item {
    min-height: 340px;
}

2. Are you wanting to keep your title on mobile (in the header widget area)? Have you tested out the mobile header (theme options > mobile header)? It looks like you’re kind of going for a transparent header look which isn’t a built-in function with Virtue like it is with our other themes.

ok, so it was an issue with the plugin directly and they need to update for a fix. Currently, if you just deactivate the “Post Carousel” widget (which I just did for you) then it works as it should.

What are the solutions for having a series of rotating leaderboard ad banners (728×90) within the header area of the Ascend Theme? Right now we have one setup in the “Headers Extra Widget Area”. We’d like to have 4 or 5 banners rotating. Is there an option available within the Ascend Theme?

One option would be to create a page with a sidebar template, then use a page builder plugin to add an events list widget to the page. Would that work for you?

If you navigate to Settings > Page Builder > Row Layout you can see that “Row/Widget Bottom Margin” is set to 30. You can either remove the margin there for the whole site, or if you’re just wanting the extra margin gone from that row you specified you can use this css:

div#panel-18-4-0-1 {
    margin-bottom: 0 !important;
}

Hmm, not without editing the code in a child theme. But the layout builder widget gives a lot of flexibility so you could add a three-column row into a single column area.

Our current Footer / Widgets use a combination of Pinnacle widgets, Layout builder, custom html and search, is there a way to ad a row below the “widgets” for simple html or Page builder type stuff?

Hi Rick,
There isn’t a built-in function for this, but you can use the footer layout that has two single columns, then, if using page builder by siteorigin, you can add a layout builder widget to your top column and create a row with three columns. Would that work for you?

I’m using the Site Origin Page Builder plugin and I have selected the Virtue Split Content Widget. This comes with a default button “view gallery” that appears next to the photo – how do I edit the name of the button and insert a link for the button? When I enter in a name into the button text and button link fields – it creates another button below the view gallery button??

Hi Hannah,

Just to let you know that I have two identical pages: the Russian and English.

Images are the same.
The difference is an upper widget on top in the Englsih version.
English version – the whole page instead of 300 px

I need the English version looks exactly as the Russian one. If I remove widget from the English version – they will be identicla.

In your appearance > widgets. Footer area 1 would be the above widget area and 2,3,4 would be the columns under. can you send me a screenshot of how you have it setup up?

In your topbar widget area you have an open <strong> tag you just need to close that all out.

Here is what I’m seeing in the output:

I’m not referring to page builder by siteorigin. Are you using the Kadence WooCommerce Elementor plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/kadence-woocommerce-elementor/)? And you are adding the product gallery widget to display your product gallery, correct? Did you try adjusting the setting in your woo extras?
