    Hi,

    I would like to make the home widget area graphic that I have placed directly below the Rev Slider on the home page completely fullwidth. There appears to be about 5px padding on each side I want to get rid of.

    Also, I would like to eliminate the space between the rev slider and the home widget graphic directly below it.

    By the way, when I set up the home widget in layout builder, I set fullwidth stretched as the option for the row. I also centered the graphic in the visual editor. Still would not display completely fullwidth.

    Thanks.

    Hi Ben sorry about this mate . I have got all the other pages appearing right now except the new arrivals page . I have tried with woosidebars and i have tried with the theme built in function to add new widget area both let me create the widget and both remove the original sidebar on the front end but they dont replace it it just comes up blank so basically i need the new arrivals widget on the new arrivals page sidebar and i will need to create an on sale one for the onsale page

    cheers kev

    p.s do you have a buy me a coffee section or a donate section on your website . I’m pretty sure sorting out woosidebars is not really your resposibility .

    Hi Ben,
    sorry I have a couple of things I need to ask:

    1. I have tried various css inorder to change the border color of my contact form and border color of the shipping&billing fields to #dedede, but nothing worked. Could you tell me the right selector for these?

    2. What do you think is the best way to have my logo right attached to my topbar, also on mobile view? Is this even possible since my topbar does not have a straight border?

    3. Please have a look at my faq page, the first image is inserted with the visual editor widget and in moile view(especially tablet), there is a lot of awkward padding at the bottom and the image is very small…

    4. I have tried to always have the footer be at the botto of my pages, even when there is little content. I tried putting widgets with spaces in my footer widget area but this makes the footer larger, and I don’t want that. Is there another way to have the footer always at the bottom so that you don’t see the background image underneath it?

    Thank you so much.

    I’ve not worked with woo-sidebars. I’m guessing it’s conflicting with how the theme calls the sidebar since the theme has it’s own way of making more widget areas in the theme options > misc settings. I’ll try to do some testing and see if I can add a hook to let woo sidebars override.

    Hi Ben,

    I am having problems with Woosidebars related to Woocommerce Product Categories . The issue I’m having is I create the first widget area to replace shop side bar and that works fine . As soon as I Create a second widget area for shop sidebar it deletes the first one from the front end and only shows the second one .

    Example

    Widget area “Clothing” is created, widgets added and it shows up on the product categories for clothing . Then I create Widget Area “Lingerie” and add widgets and it shows up on the product category page for lingerie . But when I return to the Clothing Category page it shows a blank sidebar . Each time I create a widget area it only shows that widget area in the front end . They are all still available in the back end but only show the widget area created last on the front end . Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Cheers Kev

    You can use a shortocode to add widgets in those areas see : https://wordpress.org/plugins/widgets-on-pages/

    BUT most share plugins have a shortcode you can just add to any content area you shouldn’t have to use a widget.

    Also plugins like jetpack have ways of auto adding to products and pages.

    ok for this you would need to use a child theme and edit the template for the topbar. Having the theme options > topbar settings > icon menu next to the search is not part of the layout options so you would need to customize that and you can’t just use css for something like that.
    Your other option is to not use the icon menu for those to links but instead use it for the social media links then you can add a visual editor widget and just place your two other icons in the topbar widget area

    Ben–it was the use of the Layout Builder in the widgets–I removed the layout builder from the header widget area and it fixed the problem. The error of “siteorigin-panels-grid-wp_footer” was the clue. Has anyone else had this problem with siteorigin layout builder? We use it all the time on our site. I sent an email to siteorigin support with the error info.

    Dear Hannah,
    thank you for your answer, but i mean weather it is possible to remove the right sidebar (not the topbar) from all my posts, pages, … Even if the sidebar has no widgets nevertheless there is an empty area of the right sidebar. In Design–>Menu I removed all Widgets from primary sidebar, but there is stil a empty sidebar on the right side. For e.g I want to use for my content “with=800px” without any right sidebar. I would like to use a individual Content-“WIDTH”, but not fullscreen.

    I hope I could express it on a right way.

    Thank you very much

    That is actually a bit how wordpress works, When you remove a widget area that has widgets in the box all the widgets move. They are all set by number and not by name. You should set your widget areas and not rearrange or move them after you’ve added widgets and set content.

    Hi Elena,
    You can write a custom excerpt for each post in the post edit page. If you don’t see the excerpt box you may need to select it from the screen options tab on the top right of the screen.
    Sorry, there isn’t a way to divide the page content. But you can use the home widget area and use the visual editor widget to add content.
    Hope that helps!

    Hi Ben and Hannah,

    I have my footer set up with 4 widget areas going along the page (1. Address, 2. Hours, 3. Email opt-in, and 4.Testimonials). Is it possible to add a line of text below the 4 widgets, in the footer, that will align along the full width of the page?

    I’m thinking of something that flows across in a single line, similar to the copyright. I would like it to be in the footer so that it can be seen on all the pages of the website. It will be a list all the company’s professional memberships.

    Thanks, I’m almost done with the site and it looks great!

    The topbar icon menu doesn’t have a search option. You would have to add that as a search box (theme options > topbar settings) and customized the look with css or use a plugin that has a search widget like that.

    Linking to a login page is just a matter of adding a link to the woocommerce my-account page. Just navigate to that page and copy the link the in browser.

    You can turn the woocommerce cart off in your theme options > topbar settings.

    If you would like to add icons on the opposite side of your topbar you have to do that through the topbar widget area… also something you can enabled in the topbar settings.

    If you enable a widget area you can add social icons or use the visual editor and add icons through a shortcode.

    1. If you did a preview of the kadence slider then that is all you will see. It doesn’t preview what it would look like on your homepage.

    2. So if you want the slider to be in line with the sidebar and not above it you will need to add it as a shortcode. Are you setting your page up as a static page? If so you can paste the slider shortcode right into the page content area of the home edit page. Or you can use the home widget area and paste the shortcode in a visual editor widget.

    So in your theme options > home layout. You have the home widget area enabled at the top… but your not using it. Just move it to disabled and you won’t have the space.

    Ok, carousel widget in what widget area? In the footer.. sidebar… where are you placing this widget?

    Ben

    #39694

    ok in the custom css box add this:

    .navclass {
    width: 100%;
    margin: 0 auto;
    left: 0;
    z-index:9000;
    }

    Then on the widget page, add a text widget to one of your footer widget areas and add this inside:

    <script type="text/javascript">
    jQuery(document).ready(function ($) {
    var topOffest = $('body').hasClass('admin-bar') ? 32 : 0;
    $('.navclass').sticky({topSpacing:topOffest});});
    </script>

    as long as you have the right css you can and should place in a widget area and not in the footer template. The css will position it absolutely.

    You should add css to your custom css box or your child themes css box, I can’t think of any reason you should or would need to add anything to your footer template. Just add the css and then add your code into the widget area you want your button in.

    Can you also explain more what you mean? Are you wanting to have 1 widget area that is the full width of the content area or of the screen width?

    Ben
