    Hi Paul,
    We don’t have an outline for that currently, though we can certainly add it to our list of tutorials to create!
    The Ascend shop demo homepage is created first by adding a kadence slider from Theme Options > Home Page Header. Then the image menu item is enabled from the Theme Options > Homepage Layout. Next, the Product Carousel is enabled and then the Module Icon Menu. Then you can add the testimonial carousel to the home widget area (appearance > widgets) or to a static homepage (set from Settings > Reading). Then back in the homepage layout manager, you can enable latest blog posts. Then you can enable your footer and extra footer widget area above the footer from Theme Options > Footer Settings and add content from Appearance > Widgets.
    I hope that’s helpful! Let me know if there’s something specific you have questions on.

    Hello,

    Here is some CSS that will add some space between the blog and widget area:

    .home_blog {
        padding-top: 50px;
    }

    Try adding to Theme Options> Advanced Settings and let me know if it works for you. Feel free to adjust the 50px to any amount you want.

    Hi everyone,
    How can I increase the spacing between Home Widget Area and Latest Blog Posts in my home page ?
    Specially on mobile display where these two items almost touch each other and it looks like the Virtue Icon Flip Box is part of the Recent Blog Posts?

    Hey,

    Something is effecting the visibility of those widgets and hiding them on all pages besides the home. As for the search, that’s not a part of your home content area so you wont be able to get it to show on all pages unless you add it to all other pages content.

    If you can post a login I should be able to figure out why the widgets are being hidden, and I can setup a search in the header widget area that will show on all pages.

    Hey Frank,
    1. There is spacing but default but it looks like you have removed it with this css:

    .home-padding:first-child {
        padding-top: 0;
    }

    Are you adding that?

    2.
    You can add your Instagram feed through your home widget area (enabled in Theme Options > Home Layout, then the widget can be added from Appearance > Widgets). Then in your homepage layout manager, you can move “page content” above the product carousel and have the home widget area at the bottom. Does that make sense?

    if so would it be advisable to update the site through the list of interim updates sequentially to bring it up to date rather than all in one big step like this?

    not really. that isn’t quite how it works. Usually, in terms of the theme, you would be ok, some plugins could benefit from that simply because there would be less database updating to do so less chance of a failure. I’m not entirely sure why your call to action failed to update, it would require more investigation but I doubt jumping through theme versions would be the solution. especially since widget areas wouldn’t really get updated by changing theme versions.

    The most advisable thing I can suggest is not to get that far behind. being a couple months back is one thing (although not smart) but if you are not updating your plugins and WordPress for over a year then your opening yourself to serious security issues. Issues that are posted publicly after updates come out.

    Plus when you do update more things have to change, there is the moment after updating where things that would normally run spread out have to run all at once.

    Hi Folks,
    I am putting the finishing touches to a website – URL: ductions
    In the second footer widget, I have placed a footer navigation menu.
    I have attempted, without success, to format this nav-menu so that it looks and reacts the same as the other hyperlinks in the other footer widget areas.
    Can you tell me what I have got wrong, please?
    I cannot copy/paste my custom CSS in this form – it is being rejected by your firewall, but I can share an access ID to view my attempted CSS.

    Many thanks

    This may not actually be related to amr shortcode any widget and may be an issue with the virtue call to action widget update.

    I moved the virtue call to action widget to a plain sidebar in VP 4.1.9 to test it. I switched to VP 4.8.0 and disabled all plugins and the existing virtue call to action widgets didn’t come back in any of the sidebars or the inactive widget area. The Virtue call to action widget template does show up in the available widgets area though. So I’m creating new virtue call to action widgets to use. When comparing the old widget settings from VP 4.1.9 and recreating them in VP 4.8.0 I noticed there are more options on the new virtue call to action widget. I also noticed that the ID of the widget changes from virtue_calltoaction_widget to kadence_calltoaction_widget.

    Maybe the older virtue_calltoaction_widget settings are just not loading into the new kadence_calltoaction_widget when upgrading from 4.1.9 to 4.8.0?

    Hey,

    The easiest way to do so is going to be with a text widget above your other widgets acting as a title. Just add the title like this:
    <h6>Widget Title</h6>
    Then just leave the title area of your widgets blank.

    Hey,
    I’m guessing this would get you the closest to what you want but you didn’t post a link to your site (something we ask every time you post on the forums) so I can’t verify that you even have a header setup that would support this.

    You can add a product search widget into the below header shortcode area using a plugin like this: https://wordpress.org/plugins/widgets-on-pages/

    The below header shortcode is an option in your theme options > main settings.

    else other options include:

    You can enable a product search as part of your menu in the theme options > menu settings.

    You can enable a widget area in the topbar and use the product search widget.

    You can use pagebuilder on any page to add a product search widget to your page.

    Or you can use a child theme and add anything you want with proper code.

    Hi,

    I’m running latest WordPress and plugins. I just upgraded Virtue Premium Theme from 4.1.9 to 4.7.8 and it’s breaking a few things. The most notable is my use of amr shortcode any widget. Where I was using a Virtue call to action widget via amr shortcode any widget I’m getting this error:

    Error: Your Requested widget ” virtue_calltoaction_widget-2″ is not in the widget list.
    Problem with do_widget shortcode? Try one of the following:

    [do_widget_area widgets_for_shortcodes]

    [do_widget id=”tag_cloud-3″]
    [do_widget id=”black-studio-tinymce-2″]
    [do_widget id=”virtue_calltoaction_widget-2″]
    [do_widget id=”black-studio-tinymce-3″]
    [do_widget id=”black-studio-tinymce-6″]

    Notice that the Error message has a leading space in the widget name but the widget in the list does not. Not sure if that’s just an output error in the error message or if it’s more significant. When I look in the Widgets area of WordPress the call to action widget in the Widgets for shortcodes widgets is missing altogether.

    If I revert back to Virtue Premium 4.1.9 everything goes back to normal and the call to action appears normally on the page as well as the widget returning to the widgets area in WordPress in the widgets for shortcodes widgets.

    I’m testing this on a local MAMP server so I can’t provide a URL at the moment that displays the problem but can set something up for online testing if necessary.

    Thanks

    #203039

    Hey jen6,
    Looks like there was some confusion.

    You don’t have the premium theme installed on your site. Since these are the premium theme support forms it’s assumed you are using the premium theme and thus you would have the theme extensions tab.

    It looks like you own the premium theme so are you not sure how to install it? Would you like help to get it installed or are you specifically not wanting to use a premium theme and thus specifically asking for support with the free theme?

    In terms of the code you are adding, if it’s emebed code that is supposed to output an add then it should go into a widget area using a custom html widget because you would need to specifically place where you want that to output. If you can post a link to a page where you have added the custom html widget with the adsense code I can look at whats creating an error.

    Currently, on your site, I’m seeing that you are adding some MailChimp code into the topbar widger area and that code is broken and causing errors so you will want to remove it.

    There are different kinds of scripts that do different things. You would add scripts into the widget area if that script were supposed to output something. Perhaps you can link to what script you are specifically talking about and I offer more specific instructions.

    In your appearance > widgets you are adding some kind of product carousel into the header widget area. Just remove that.

    Hey,
    Yes, you can re-create the Kadence themes homepage with Virtue using the Virtue: Split Content widget and the Virtue: Info Box widget. You should use a page builder plugin such as SiteOrigin or Elementor. Let me know if there’s a specific area you’re getting stuck.
    I will let Ben respond to your other inquiry.

    Hi guys,

    First I want to thank Ben and Kevin for replying to me so fast on this topic. I discovered the option of having the pages content width as full width or content. I loved the width style and wanted to use it, but noticed that the titles and other things were not as wide as the rest of the content. I also wanted to have the entire website pages wide so I asked for some help and got the following codes that helped me fix the issue.

    .container {width: 100%;padding-left:5%;padding-right:5%;}

    .contactform input.full, .contactform textarea {max-width: 100%;}

    .sidebar .form-search {width: 100%;max-width: none;}

    The website I’m working on is earthxplorer.ro

    I still have some issues I would like to change / fix and I could use some help:

    1. The search widget in the header it’s not acting properly when clicked ( the search in the main menu icon ),
    2. The blog featured images are a little strange and I would like them to cover the box as they normally do,
    3. There is any way to change the height of the portrait featured image as now with the wide content it’s way too high,
    4. If in the main menu I add more than six items, when I minimize the browser page to a smaller resolutions, the menu items are acting strange as well.

    Thank you in advance for all the support. The website started looking as I want to, and it’s the same for my two other websites.

    1. Update the css to this:

    @media (min-width: 992px){
        .kad-header-widget {
            width: 50%;
        }
        .kad-header-left {
            width: 25%;
            padding:0;
        }
        #kad-banner > .container {
            position:relative;
        }
        #kad-banner > .container > .row:nth-child(1) {
            width: 100%;
            margin: 0;
            float:none;
        }
        #kad-banner > .container > .row:nth-child(2) {
            width: 25%;
            float: right;
            margin: 0;
            position:absolute;
            top:0;
            right: 15px;
        }
        .kad-header-right {
            padding: 0;
        }
        .col-md-12>#nav-main ul.sf-menu {
            text-align: right;
        }
        #nav-main ul.sf-menu a {
            padding: 10px;
        }
    }

    2. Add this css:

    .widget-first.header-widget-area-header {
        margin-top: 5px;
        margin-bottom: 5px;
    }

    Hello,

    How were you adding it to the topbar? If through widget, you can enable a header widget area in Theme Options> Header Settings.

    Then go to Appearance> Widgets and assign the widget.

    Does that work for you?
