March 21, 2016 at 2:45 pm #86878I’m seeing about us in the third pagebuilder row?
Inside of the third row I see that you made three columns. Two empty columns on either side of the text widget that holds about us?
Those two empty columns are causing your issues on mobile.
If you don’t want a text area to extend the whole row don’t make three columns. Just use one column and set a max width on the text widget.
max-width:840px; margin-left: auto; margin-right:auto;Ben
In forum: Virtue ThemeI recently stopped using that jetpack mobile theme and started using the virtue theme for mobile due to the shortcode support.
Just about everything works well except the layout of the main page. The main site is 2 columns and it seems to put the right hand column under the left which is fine but the post content does not display correctly.
It is set for 17% for the featured image and 83% for the post content, instead of them rendering beside each other they render one over the other. This would be acceptable but the post content, even though on a new line is still only 83% and looks odd. It is all left aligned.
Over the year or so I have made changes to css, mainly by using the ‘inspect element’ function of firefox as my trial/error/investigate tool as I don’t have much experience with it, so there is a good chance I have screwed something that used to make this fully responsive.
I hope I explained that correctly.

Hello!
The Main WooCommerce “SHOP” page images are set to 4 columns, however in the last column the images are not spaced out evenly as the first three columns.

Hi. Thanks for the reply.
The second offset worked just fine 🙂
However, for the recent post 1, how can i separate image for the other content? If I only use that offset I will have this: http://postimg.org/image/cuqxl0vw1/
So, i guess i have to create two columns with page builder, and then apply two different offsets: one that will only call the image from the most recent post, and then another one (in another column) with an offset that calls everything excluding the image. Is that so?
Thanks again,
Nuno

March 18, 2016 at 11:44 am #86426Hey,
In the blog shortcodes you can use offsets. So for example:[blog_posts orderby=date items="1" type="normal" offset="null"] [blog_posts orderby=date items="2" type="grid" columns="2" offset="1"]Ben
In forum: Virtue ThemeHi, I wonder if anyone can help me.
I want to widen the content of my website without setting it to full width.
I have tried this in the custom.css:
#content{
width:80%;
}and this does seem have widened the content but is there a better way to set the width for everything?
Also on a couple of rows in the page builder I have three columns – this seems to make the row appear wider when you view the page vs the other rows?
Any idea what I need to do to fix this to get it aligned? I assume it is to do with margins and padding when you have extra columns?Unfortunately it is locally hosted at the moment so I cant share a link, but I could forward a screenshot if it helps.
Thanks in advance, Kathryn

March 16, 2016 at 3:58 pm #86132Hey,
1. You can’t have more then 6 columns, not without editing and it would make the items so small I don’t recommend it.2. which icons are you talking about?
3. Did you give your products a price?
Ben
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Display of goods
Ben,
Thanks!I did it in a following way: I added via Page Builder a text widget and copy pasted there the shortcode. I hope this is a right way, which will not cause any errors, right?
Overall it works, however it let me to have max 6 columns. If I put 7, it bring me back to the standard 4 columns. Is there a way to overcome this? Also is it possible to make overall the icons of products smaller? If even I do more columns, the width of icons is decreasing of course, but the height is still the same. So I do not see the second row with products without scrolling the page down. When I added new products the orange stripe below the picture with a “Call for action” says “See more details”. While on my old products, it says “Add to cart”, and if I click that, it brings me to the start of ordering. COuld you please remind me how can I do the same for my new products.
THanks a lot in advance.

Hi,guys
I need your advice.
this is my site: okgadget.ru . Currently I use Featured Products gallery to display my goods on the home page. It is ok now, as I have only 4 types of products. Soon I will have more (more than 10) and I want them to be displayed all together on the home page. I can not use the Gallery for that because it allows me to have max 6 items displayed at the same time, and then the shopper needs to scroll the gallery to the right or left to see other products.
Please advice me how can I place a grid with my products of amount of let’s say 12 or 15. Favorably to have 6 columns. At the same time I would like to have the same nice orange action call “Add to my cart” for the every product i have in the grid.
And one more question, guys. This is what I found in the forum: *Login to see link
I like that there is a kind of menu, and depending on what you need you can press the needed bar and it will come to the front, while the rest are go to the back.
Is there a way to do similar thing?THanks

Hi Ben,
The words you’ve used I do understand, but the content I do not fully understand. Sorry for that. That’s why I’ll break your answer into pieces. Maybe I can get answers directly to the question of my problem .I do not know exactly, what the meaning is of what you’ve explained.I’m think there is some confusion. The page you linked to doesn’t have a sidebar?
Is this a question to me or a fact . If I need to create a sidebar , pls want you tell me how ?
You have the category filter tuned on?
this question eludes me. How can I tune on the category filter ?
I was under the impression you wanted a sidebar and that you wanted a list of your categories in that sidebar.
Yes I want a sidebar and you understand it correct , I want a list in that sidebar as I wrote in my prior message to you.
In your theme options > shop settings. The first option. Make the layout one that has a sidebar,
In shop settings I choose for option 1: 4 columns ; option 2: show the side bar . I select the block with the 2 columns. Is that right ? ; Option 3 I’ve choose for primary sidebar . Is that OK too?
Then make sure to turn off the category filter (option is a little future down)
It’s turned off. Still a question about “Force products into rows, Products fit into rows regardless of size” Should this be On or Off ?
Sorry Ben , I thought the quality of my english would be sufficient to use the virtue theme, but my brains are, I think, in my 78 years’re not like before.
Wishing you a very fine day.

March 15, 2016 at 12:35 pm #859401. You have an open div on the home page that you need to close. Looks like it may be in your home content. Hard to tell from the front end.
2. I’m only seeing one post with not much text. When you have a lot of content the home layout would only show part of it.
You can hide the text though by adding this css:
.home_blog .postcontent { display: none; }But the layout wouldn’t be good. I suggest using the blog grid shortcode then using css like this to hide the text, it would make for a better layout:
shortcode:
[blog_grid orderby=date items=4 columns=2]css:
.home #kad-blog-grid .blog_item .postcontent { display: none; }3. add this css:
.home .panel-grid:only-child .siteorigin-panels-stretch { margin-bottom: 0 !important; }Ben
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Creating a portfolio
Glad things are working with your portfolio. If this happens again I would suggest changing your permalink setting to Post Name as a test.
There isn’t an option to add content under the portfolio grid, but you could use a portfolio grid shortcode then add whatever you wanted underneath. The shortcode would look like this:[portfolio_posts orderby=date columns=4 items=12 cat=photos]
Hope that’s helpful!Hannah
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: How to style each post individually?
March 15, 2016 at 2:07 am #858481. It’s not a specific enough css selector.
Use:#kad-blog-grid #post-29 { background-color: #fafafa; border-style: solid; border-width: 10px; border-radius: 15px; color: #000; }2. If you make the front page a static page you would have to use a shortcode for displaying posts. Like:
[blog_grid items=4 columns=3]PLease see: https://www.kadencewp.com/creating-a-home-page-with-virtue/
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: How to show products by category on homepage
Hey,
You can use a shortcode like this:[product_category per_page="12" columns="4" category="shoes"]
Just replace “shoes” with your category then paste it into a text widget from within the home widget area. Make sure Home Widget Area is enabled in Theme Options > Home Layout.
Hope that works for you!Hannah
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Footer widget help
Hello,
I have added a qr code widget in footer column 4. Could you help with these issues:
1. Can they be placed closer together?
2. On trial and error, I see that I can align it properly either to the homepage or all the rest of the pages. At present I have done the homepage. How can I align it properly for the rest of the pages? The second one is 10px lower on all the other pages.
3. For screens with 1200px or less, I’d like the two logos to be on the same line. (Because it wasn’t getting aligned well, I made two columns in a visual editor and placed each widget in one column, so it spans 6 on smaller devices 🙁 )
