In reply to: Going from IG PageBuilder to Page Builder SiteOrigin
Well now…. that sucks canal water. Even when I deactivate SiteOrigin and activate IG the page doesn’t line up in columns like the original, and I can’t get it to adhere to the “select up to 4” items rule. There’s a lot on this site that used IG.
Thanks for the prompt reply, Ben.

In forum: Virtue ThemeHi,
I imported a site that was using IG PageBuilder into the Virtue premium site. There’s one page on the site that has a very, very long list of product options to choose from on the right side of the page, and nothing but a large image on the left side. How do I use the Page Builder by SiteOrigin to get rid of the image on the left, put in a page-width image at the top of the page, and then turn that long list of items into 3 or 4 columns in order to shorten up this excessively long list? The current imported page is a hot mess of IG PageBuilder shortcodes. Also, on the original page customers could only select UP TO 4 items. Now they can select every option on the page if they wanted to.

In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: Making a widget overlap its section
December 16, 2015 at 5:13 pm #71757Hey,
If I understand correctly, That isn’t an option. I wish I could offer more but the premise of making an image menu widget overlap isn’t really possible. It looks like your wanting something mosaic like this: http://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/mosaic-gallery/
You could set that up and make the images a link.
Else if your wanting to fill an area you can set a background image.
Finally making something absolute could move it out of the columns (kind of) but in a responsive site it’s not a very good option.

Here is a link
http://niagarawatch.com/This is an example of another site – which is how I would prefer it to look – each post with just a title
http://www.theartofdoingstuff.com/I currently have set the homepage to “latest posts” and the “Page Content” to 4 columns/grid on the “Home Layout”

December 14, 2015 at 10:56 am #71300Hey,
1. Because the content class sits above it. If you want the background to be right behind your text content either use the content class background options or make theme transparent.2. We use 2000×500 for the slider. Just use good compression to keep the images small.
3. https://select2.github.io/ – select2 is a jquery replacement for select boxes. Since browser don’t allow you to style select boxes this script hides the select box and rebuilds one that is powered by jquery and using html that is editable.
4. Call to action typically refers to a text line that tells to viewer to do some action like click a button that links to something. An example can be found here: http://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/ – (look near the bottom at “Want to see more?”)
Breadcrumbs are the links next to your page title that display where you are in a site. Look here: http://themes.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/product/racer-t-shirt/See this line: Home » Shop » T-Shirts » Mens » Racer T-Shirt
5. Can you post a link, how are you adding these columns?

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Few Problems
December 13, 2015 at 3:06 am #71169Hey guys loving the theme just have a few problems..
1) Why is the body background picture not visible if my website is set to have Wide Site Layout Style, is only visible once I put it in Boxed style?
2) How do you guys find pictures to post in your revolution slider. Mine is around 1240×400 so its hard to find quality pictures for that size. Or when I resize them down they don’t look as good. Any tips on this to make it look as HD as the one in the virtue premium demo?
3) What does this setting mean? It just says select2…
4) What does “Call To Action” and “Breadcrumbs” mean, not really sure what I can use those for?
5) And finally I am having problem when viewing a page with columns on mobile. For example a piece of text and a picture looks good on a computer, but in mobile the pictures are randomly in between the text. Any tips on fixing this?
Thanks guys and sorry for asking so many questions

December 11, 2015 at 4:20 pm #71048So I thought about this. Yes if you set a category stick posts show in order, per wordpress. I wasn’t thinking. If you don’t set a category then yes the posts would show.
Hannahs idea with the shortcode is set up to be two rows. unless you add in preset columns inside pagebuilder.
It’s not not going to work perfect but that is probably your best option based on what your trying to do. Add a 25% column and a 75% column.Ben

Hi Marc,
You can use a shortcode like this:[portfolio_posts orderby=date columns=4 ratio=square filter=true layoutstyle=padded_style hoverstyle=default items=4 masonry=false lightbox=true showtypes=true cat="design, photography, video, arts"]And check out the full list of shortcodes here- http://docs.kadencethemes.com/pinnacle/#shortcodes
Hope it helps!Hannah

Something is wrong with the above code, if I use it I get two rows, one with one column and 1 post from category1 and bellow the other with 3 columns from category2, all left aligned.
The row of category2 increase the width of the post as for a total of only 3 columns.
Maybe the second shortcode has to know that it uses the last 3 columns from a total of 4 columns?
See the image of the result of the above code here: http://wordpress.memorialsighet.ro/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/screenshot.png

In forum: Virtue ThemeI would like to use the portfolio template for organizing photos where the images are clickable and then play a video automatically, opening up a lightbox window, or on another page, preferrably the former. I’ve seen on your Virtue demo, where a person can click on the small search icon for the lightbox video. I could not get this to work. Also, is it possible to have the lightbox come up without having to click on the small search icon?
Here’s what I did on the unsuccessful attempt at getting the video to appear from the portfolio template. I entered “Project Layout” with Three Rows, “Columns” with Three Column, under project summary I selected “Image with video lightbox (must be url)”, and with “If Video Project – Video Url” I entered the url from Youtube that I have modified start and end times and added the autoplay. Here it is: *Login to see link
I also have a featured image and a portfolio type selected. When selecting the project options as a video, the featured image does not appear at all. If I select the image option, I do not see a way to execute the video. The answer may be obvious one that I am not seeing right now. Thanks for your help.

December 10, 2015 at 11:40 am #708151. You can’t with that layout. You would have to use a shortcode and have two columns or edit the theme through a child theme.
2. You can use this css:
.postlist article span.posttags { display: none; }3. You can use this css:
@media (max-width: 991px){ .postlist article .col-md-5 { display: none; } }Ben
In forum: Pinnacle ThemeHi,
I have a slight problem with the portfolio_post shortcode.
When I use the code like this [portfolio_posts columns=”3″ items=”6″] (in a siteorigin row) my portfolio posts are shown in more than 3 columns (depending on the size of the screen).
On the contrary, when I use the Home Layout Manager with Portfolio Full, the behavior is as specified.Do you have any hint for me?
Thank you in advance
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Sticky post
Hi Nicolae,
Sure, you can do this by using two separate shortcodes. So you would paste something like this into your page:
[blog_grid orderby=date items=1 columns=1 cat=category1] [blog_grid orderby=date items=3 columns=3 cat=category2]
Does that work for you?Hannah
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Sticky post
Hello,
In *Login to see link I have the blog posts:
[blog_grid orderby=date items=4 columns=4 cat=category1]
I need the first post to be a specific/sticky post, but I understand that it is not possible. In this case, is it possible to have the first post from a specified category and the other 3 posts from another specified category?
Regards,
Nicolae
