December 28, 2015 at 10:13 am #73137Ok if your not wanting anything in these extra columns this can be done just with css. No need for any coding. Just set your pages to use the “fullwidth” page template. Then post a link.
In terms of the css you posted, you would only would need this:
.contentclass { background: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.8); }Ben

Hey Danny,
I just tested Ben’s suggestion and it seemed to work fine. When you add the layout builder widget and create two columns within it and save it looks like it falls into one column, but when you save and view the page it should be displaying as two. Let me know if this is not the case for you and if not do you mind posting a link to the page you’re working on?Hannah

December 28, 2015 at 12:07 am #73066Hey,
One thing you can try which is somewhat inconsistent because it’s pagebuilder inside of pagebuilder but you can add the builder widget inside of a pagebuilder widget area, then add two columns to the new area.Ben

Hey Danny,
Sorry for the delay! Crazy time of year.
There isn’t a simple way to make this work. If you created a row with four columns you might be able to use some css to get the second top column to stretch to the third, but it may be a slightly different look. If you post a link to where you’re working I may be able to help further.Hannah
In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Unlimited Products on Homepage
I think your best bet here would be to use a shortcode like this:
[recent_products columns="4"]
You can paste that into a text widget within your home widget area (appearance > widgets), or if your homepage is a static page you can paste it into the visual editor of your front page.
Hope that helps!Hannah
In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: 3 columns in content area
I need to divide my content area in 3 parts (15%,70%,15%), so two pseudo-side bars can have different background image (which is a repeated .png), surrounded by border, no text. And text is located in the central part, with different bg image. How can I do that? So far no answer found.
PageBuilder doesn’t take care of the whole content area till the very borders, it only deals with text area, seems to be.

In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Problem with Layout in FF and IE
Well, it DID work perfectly to fix the Blog page at:
http://daveromeo.com/sample-blog-post/
however, when I use that CSS you provided it breaks the layout on other pages using a similar technique – the CSS is forcing my layout into a single column, where I have it setup in three columns with specific image placement:
http://daveromeo.com/seminars/getting-past-your-past/
This is what it is SUPPOSED to look like:

http://skywardthought.com/kadence/getting_past_screenshot.jpg
Can you offer some additional CSS to make sure everything both of these layouts work? Other advice? (I don’t care how I accomplish it, but it needs to work so that I can have actual widgets/sidebars used to control certain areas within a page, so when I have tons of similarly copied pages, the common areas are managed under appearance>widgets instead of within the page itself.)
Thanks!

December 22, 2015 at 11:32 pm #72691Hey,
In your apperance > menus. Once you add a menu item there are options if you open it by clicking arrow on the right. You will see a little checkbox “Enable Fullwidth Sub-Menu”Just click that and set your columns then as you add items below that menu they would be submenus and they would show up in the columns.

In forum: Virtue ThemeDecember 22, 2015 at 11:20 pm #72688I suggest using a custom menu widget in your appearance > widgets page. You can add to one of the footer columns.
You build the links in your appearance > menus page by creating a new menu then assigning that in the footer widget.Ben
In forum: Virtue ThemeDecember 22, 2015 at 10:43 pm #72683Hey,
1. The using the portfolio category page means your supposed to use the type pages, those types have no other way of linking to a custom page you make regardless of what template your using.If you really need them to redirect to custom pages with the portfolio grid template then you can use a plugin and set up the redirects for the url of the type pages so they get directed to your custom pages: https://wordpress.org/plugins/safe-redirect-manager/
2. The grid links page to whatever page you set as the portfolio page in your theme options > portfolio options. But you can also individually set the portfolio grid on a post by post basis in the portfolio posts themselves.
3. The category grid is set up to show all the types. You can not use that page template and instead use a shortcode that will display only top level portfolio types. But this will not mean the that portfolio type pages show the child types they will still show the portfolio posts.

I’m editing a staff post now. My Screen Options are Boxes for sidebar options, slug, staff group, attributes, and featured image. Layout options are 1 or 2 columns (2 cols chosen). Additional settings are “enable full-height editor” etc. (ticked). Don’t see a custom excerpt box. Am I in the right place?

My staff page is almost OK. It’s
*Login to see linkOn two browsers, Firefox 43.0.1 and Chromium 46.0.2490.86, the 1st row in the 3rd column is one line deeper than the other 3 columns. As a result the top of the 2nd row is ragged. (I’ll create a dummy featured image for people who don’t submit their own.)
I’d like it to look like
*Login to see linkI copied in the CSS below from a recent post (18/12) on this topic, but while the page looks better it’s still ragged.
.staff_item_info {
min-height: 150px;
}.init-isotope .staff_item img {
max-height: 270px;
}Any suggestions welcome.

In forum: Virtue ThemeDecember 20, 2015 at 9:52 am #72227Hi,
I’ve made a row with three columns in Page Builder, and then added a Virtue: Info Box to each row. The content of each info box is different, however, when updating the page the text is either missing or the exact same in each info box. When checking the settings of each info box, all content is still as I want it to be – somehow it just doesn’t update correctly.

December 18, 2015 at 10:33 am #72059Hey,
So copping can only work if the image is large then then width and height of the crop. on a 4 column layout the width is set to be 270px. So if you upload images that are not at least 270px wide and you want them to be cropped you can’t use the four column layout since four columns looks for 270. the reason being the the page width is 1170 add in some padding at 270 is the number that the theme looks for.If you are wanting to upload small images I suggest just cropping them all at 250. Else upload large ones so that the theme can crop theme since the crop function can’t stretch images.
Hope that makes sense.
Another option if you don’t want to re-upload is to force the images to a max height with css:
.init-isotope .staff_item img { max-height: 250px; }This will not make all the image square but will keep them inline.

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Problems with staff pages
I’ve searched through the forum for this topic and have found some previous answers, but they don’t make sense.
I need to create staff posts and am following the Staff Grid Page Template tutorial. I’ve created a page and have set its template to Staff Grid with 3 columns, etc. Now for the puzzle: how do I get any content in there? I’m supposed to make posts but where does that happen? If I go to Posts under the Dashboard and say Add New it goes into the Blog.
I tried pasting photos and text directly into the edit box, but all this does is create a longer and longer list which never breaks up into nice little boxes.

December 17, 2015 at 11:03 am #71898You set that in the pagebuilder settings for when the columns switch. In terms of the container and theme columns it’s 1200, 992, 768, 480
