Have you tried using the new wordpress editor and kadence blocks? Our Row Layout block allows you to adjust the number of columns in a row for desktop, tablet, and mobile. https://www.kadenceblocks.com/row-layout-block/

Hello Hannah,

i know your solution, but in this way on tablet devices i have 2 columns in which the text is a lot more lenght than image and i dont like this solution.

Maybe there is a trick to fix this problem?

Hmm, looks like core columns forces padding in when in fullwidth only in the editor and only when the column or innerblocks are selected… still is in part cut off. This is interesting. I’ll look into some options. I don’t know that I love what they did.

Thought I’d mention, I received a response on the GitHub issue I opened related to full-width blocks and the move handle being hidden. https://github.com/WordPress/gutenberg/issues/17411#issuecomment-530971106

I tested using the 2019 theme and the vanilla column block set to full width with 6 columns. Then I added a block to the left-most column. It looks like the vanilla columns block allows a buffer on the left so the move handle is displayed.

I think they’re suggesting this is a Kadence issue. What’s the best way to respond if there is a change needed in Gutenberg to address this?

Hey,
You would need to create separate columns for your text and image. Then when you edit the page builder row and open the Layout tab you should see an option to set the collapse order.

Hey John, the testimonial block is a static block, it doesn’t pull from any source, it’s only meant to be used where you add testimonials into the block itself. In cases where you need a couple of testimonials.

If you need a grid or carousel of your testimonial posts then you would need to use a shortcode. For example:

[carousel type="testimonial" columns="3" items="9" arrows="false" pagination="true" cat="group_slug"]

Or:

[testimonial_posts items="9" columns="3" group="group_slug"]

If you want the mobile to be two columns you can add this css:

@media (max-width: 767px){
    .kad_product {
        width: 50%;
        float: left;
    }
}

css can be added in your theme options > advanced settings.

Hey so if you don’t want a carousel then you can use a product shortcode. See here: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-shortcodes/

Those are built into woocommerce. For example:

Hey!

Let’s see if I can help. In your theme options > home layout, you have the “home layout manager”. There are two columns one column has modules that are enabled, the other modules that are disabled. You can drag these modules from column to column based on how you want the home page to be laid out.

There is a module there called “page content” and it relates to the content you add to the page you’ve assigned as the home page. When you go to pages in your admin menu, then click to edit the “home” page you can edit that content.

To make these easier I have moved all the modules except “page content” to disabled. And I have turned off your home slider. That way the only parts that will show on your home page is the content you add in your page content area.

Currently, your home page content is set up with a page builder called “Page Builder by SiteOrigin”.

But it sounds like you may want to use the block editor? It’s hard for me to know exactly what you want but it seems that way. I edited the home page and removed the content from page builder and clicked the “revert to editor” button and clicked update for the page.

That switched the interface to the block editor. There I added some content just so you would have something to see created.

Please let me know if that helps explain and if there is anything I can set up for you that would help you to get editing the way you want.

Thanks for this. The top of each column now aligns, but I’m still not able to get the following to work out:
-I just noticed that a bit of the left side of the logo in Footer Column 1 is cut off
-Footer Columns 2 & 3 (Contact and Follow Us) seem to be different font sizes. I tried updating the header font options in Topography settings, but the footer font didn’t seem to be pulling from any of these.
-Columns aren’t equally spaced
Sorry to have so many questions–I’m just not sure where I go to make these updates.

In regards to the Icon List in the Blocks Pro plugin. The theme and both block plugins are up to date but it still doesn’t show those details under the icon list control? I just deleted and re installed and still it doesn’t show.

However, with another site I started last night the icon list controls displayed correctly, but then when I was trying to add in some of the existing layouts under rows I was / still am getting an error message saying: This block has encountered an error and cannot display? I can only use the 5 top ones – up to 3 columns staff layout. All the others I get an error message with. Any ideas?

Thank guys – that worked perfectly!

Only one slight hiccup: the two logos used to side-by-side because I had them in two separate columns when I had everything in individual rows.

However now that everything is in one single row, they’re stacked on top of each other because everything is one single column throughout – meaning they appear absolutely huge on non-mobile devices.

Any idea how I can get them next to each other again?

I’m using the Tab shortcode, and have inserted the Icon shortcode but the icons don’t display. I’ve tried the Icon Box shortcode and that works just fine, but not really what I’m needing. I’m also using Elementor, so I have the ‘Insert Icon’ button next to the Extra Shortcodes button, but when I click on it, nothing happens. Not sure why this one, seemingly, simple thing isn’t working. Can you help?

I had wanted to expand the width of the menu in the header so that the menu items were all on one line, which also meant changing the logo width. I had used the following to adjust the width:

width: 80% !important;
margin-top: 20px;
}}

However, the .col-md-4 is affecting the footer columns. Is there a better way to achieve the 20/80 looks for the header without affecting the footer? Also, I am experiencing some glitching when the header shrinks for sticky.

Hey,
1. In your theme options > main settings, look near the top for “Sidebar Side of page.” you can define that a sidebar show on the left side.

2. you can use the feature sidebar page template. that will allow you to add a slider or image or shortcode above the sidebar.

Or you can make the page fullwidth then create your top section and in the second row create it as two columns and manually add your sidebar in one or call it in through plugin.

Well, my best advice is to use good quality images, low-quality images are the fastest way to make a site look unprofessional and it kills any design.

If images are uploaded in quality that would look good for all screen sizes then the theme would be able to create versions that worked and were not distorted.

If you are stuck and can’t fix your images you could use the photoblog shortcode, which would just output three columns and the images will have varying heights based on how they were uploaded. That would at least prevent distortion.

Hey,
You can add the carousel shortcode and then add this into the shortcode: autoplay="false"
So it would look like this: [carousel type=post orderby=date columns=4 items=8 speed=9000 scroll=all cat=photos autoplay="false"]
