    Hey,

I think there may be a bug or two lurking within the “Ascend: Carousel” widget.

I’m trying to use the following settings, though I’m running into issues with the images not resizing and/or displaying properly.

At one stage, the images were showing unscaled and HUUUUUGE, though that seems to have fixed itself for now.
I had a look in the forums for any similar topics and found this:
(I think it’s the same bug or related?)

Carousel Type: Blog Posts photo output
    Carousel Columns: 1 Column
Scroll Setting: 1 Item / All visible (both options only showing 1)

Much appreciated if you’re able to have a look/test!

    Hi Petra,
How are you adding your gallery? There should be an option to choose your number of columns from the gallery settings.

    #151121

    Hi Hannah, hi Ben,

somehow, I can’t find where my gallery is located – I would like to change the number of the columns. This is the shortcode I see on the page: [gallery ids="1803,1795,1781,1794,1799,1791,1806,1798,1796,1797,1787,1784,1807,1782,1805,1802,1801,1804,1793,1792,1786,1789,1785,1788,1808,1800,1783" link="file" type="default" caption="default" masonry="default" width="" height=""] Can you help?

    Thanks very much in advance,

    Petra

    And some what got it.

Found your portfolio short code on the virtue theme documentation.

    [portfolio_posts orderby=date excerpt=false columns=4 items=4 height=200 lightbox=true showtypes=true cat=photos]

Is there a full documentation of the short code?

I came across this one as well.

    [portfolio_posts orderby=date style=”poststyle” columns=2 items=1 ratio=”square” lightbox=false showtypes=behindertengerechte-wc-kabinen excerpt=true]

What different style and ratio settings are there?

    Thanks again.

You can use the home widget area to add a testimonial carousel, or add a testimonial grid using a shortcode like [testimonial_posts items="10" columns="3"]

    Hey,
So the demo is using page builder. That code you see is page builder output and you can’t just add it as it’s based on the screen size. The margins are set by js and adjust based on the screen. You need to use page builder to create full width areas and that way you don’t need to have any coding.

Again with grids it would be easy to use pagebuilder since you can easily create columns.

Are you not wanting to make the html site a WordPress environment that is easily editable?

If you want to use the theme classes you can use bootstrap “col-md-12” 12 column setup. But with our edited css you have sizes xxl, xl, md, sm, ss

xxl and xl are really only for if you’ve set the max width larger than 1170px in your theme options.

If you want to create html with your own custom fullwidth class you an use: kt-custom-row-full for fullwidth background and kt-custom-row-full-stretch for fullwidth content.

1 page is working (Home Watch). http://psarizona.com/services/home-watch-services/
1 page is partial (Maintenance/Repair). Get Your Game. Spend more time playing and less time doing. Leave the to do list to us. Not centering and the 3 columns are justified but centering is off. http://psarizona.com/services/maintenance-repair-services/
1 page is not (Affiliate Services). Getting It Done. If we can’t do it, we know who can. Not Centered. http://psarizona.com/services/affiliate-services/

    Thats not doing it.
I guess what Im trying to accomplish is to have Maintenance Installation * Repair * Row Centered on the page.
    http://psarizona.com/services/maintenance-repair-services/
Same thing with Exterior Homes Inspection * Interior Home Inspection * Options Extra Services
    http://psarizona.com/services/home-watch-services/
Also, the info box above this row (Dark blue band with icon) best way to center. Currently I have 3 columns and have been adjusting the size of each to attempt to get it centered.

    Hey,
One option for this is to set the number of columns to one on your shop page. That would output the products like a list.
Another option is to use this css:

    .product_details .product_excerpt {
        display: block;
    }

Just paste that into your custom css box in Theme Options > Custom CSS.
    Hope that helps!

Using shortcode, you should be able to accomplish this. Try adding this shortcode to a text editor on your home page, either the default wordpress editor, or a visual editor widget in page builder:
    [carousel type=sale-products columns=4 speed=9000 scroll=all cat=photos]

Just replace the “photos” category with whatever category you’d like the carousel to display.

Let me know if that works for you!

    Hey,

The portfolio actually cannot be organized by category. Only type. Try instead using the shortcode like this:
    [portfolio_posts orderby=date style="poststyle" columns=2 items=1 ratio="square" lightbox=false showtypes=behindertengerechte-wc-kabinen excerpt=true]

Let me know if that gives you the intended display.

    Hi,

i use this portfolio shortcode here:

    [portfolio_posts orderby=date style="poststyle" columns=2 items=1 ratio="square" lightbox=false showtypes=true excerpt=true cat=behindertengerechte-wc-kabinen]

The output is wrong. In that Portfolio Type is another item, just one, but instead, i get the item from type “toilettenwagen”
    Triple-checked the slug’s …

Same goes for all Portfolio items pulled by shortcode. Still on the Portfolio grid page the filtering is showing the right types:

I guess i’m doing something wrong, but can’t figure it out

    Thank you

    #149945

    Hey Paul,
There is only an option for six columns, but you can have up to 18 portfolio posts. Or if you want more than that you can use a shortcode. See here: http://docs.kadencethemes.com/virtue-premium/shortcodes/

    Hey Leah,

The gallery will display slightly differently than the portfolio page, since they are separate entities. You’ve already got the gallery displaying in Masonry, but perhaps decreasing the the amount of columns in the gallery will yield better results for you.

I’m pretty sure that the mosaic is possible with the galleries, but I’m having a difficult time getting it setup on my site. Ben or Hannah will likely have some information when they see this.

This may be possible with the mosaic, so we’ll have to wait a bit for their response.

    Hi there,
I am wanting to create a gallery (like the Portfolio one in this demo: but for a range of featured products.
I have started to create a gallery linking to each product using the K Gallery plugin, which you can see here.
Is there a way that I can stagger the sizes of the images like the demo one (where some images span multiple columns, and some are smaller)?
Also – is there a way to make the bottom aligned like the demo (rather than staggered as it currently is)?
    Thanks

    #149891

    Hey Marcus,
I don’t believe there’s an option to include a portfolio excerpt in a carousel. You can use a grid shortcode though, like this:
    [portfolio_posts orderby=date excerpt=true columns=2 items=4 height=200 lightbox=true showtypes=true]
    Would that work for you?

Thanks Hannah – I have tried the two column layout and it didn’t make any difference. In fact I tried all the layouts just in case.

The piping looks great, thank you!

I have encountered another problem – it’s on the home page and the display of the portfolios. There are 12 and the 12th one is going on top of number 6 – please have a look and see what you think – http://www.ridgewaypress.co.uk. It’s very weird! All the numbers look ok on the menu order. This section of the home page is using the portfolio_posts shortcode – (portfolio_posts order=asc orderby=title columns=6 items=30 height=200 hoverstyle=default masonry=false lightbox=false orderby=menu_order) but with square brackets.

    Hi
I’ve had a good look through other support requests but can’t find anything that seems to sort this out!

I have a footer which is an address, phone and email. I want the address to appear on one line rather than being automatically paragraphed on to two lines. First of all I used the Siteorigin Editor widget and unclicked ‘automatic paragraph’ and have now changed it to the default WP Text widget and it’s no different. I have tried every combination of columns in the Footer Theme Option, but that doesn’t seem to extend the column so that the address appears on one line. Your advice would be greatly appreciated!

The other query is whether I can add a pipe mark | between the menu options on the Primary Menu.

    The site is http://www.ridgewaypress.co.uk

    Many thanks
    Susie

    Topic: Picture size

    #149858

    Hi

I am going to sell posters on my site – I use the Virtue Theme. My problem is that the top and bottom and the sides of the jpg-pictures of the posters are cut to fit in the predefined picture sizes of the theme.

I will use 2 sizes of pictures: 600×844 for the single product detail page and 300×422 for “Featured products”.

In the single product detail page the picture has the size of 456*456 (according to Chrome inspect tool) – how do I change this to 600×844 so the entire picture is shown?

In the “Featured products” the predefined picture sizes is 300×300 (for 4 columns) – how do I change this to 300×422 so the entire picture is shown?

I have tried to change settings in WooCommerce/settings/display/product images – it did not help.

    BR
    Martin
