In reply to: Very big theme_mods_ with things that are not in use
August 10, 2023 at 9:11 am #284986Hey Michal,
The latest update to the Kadence Theme cleans up the social CSS output to narrow down what needs to be output. Just for reference, there are three places where the social icons can be added (header, mobile header and footer), and in each, the social modal can have brand colors selected. Either way that should be resolved with the latest update. As for getting access, I can’t get to your admin page. Apparently, USA is a blocked country. Can you add it or tell me which country has access and I can VPN in.
There is nothing about the child theme mods that you posted that is concerning to me. I think something else is causing an issue and I’m happy to look into it.

In forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: Kadence design is old-fashioned
August 10, 2023 at 7:53 am #284985Hey folks!
I’m Ben (other Ben?) the Head of Support for KadenceWP.
Thanks for those references for “more modern” designs. My only problem with your feedback here is that it feels too broad. “Make it better” is a lot like me going to a sandwich shop and saying “Make better sandwiches” when what I mean is “I’d really like an option with sourdough bread and homemade mustard.”
This may come as a shock, but we disagree with your assessment that our designs are old and outdated. We still like them, many users rave about them, and they are selling well! I certainly want to make some that you feel are better, if at all possible, but I’m not sure (beyond “more animation”) what specifically you think our designs need.
Design is a constantly-changing and subjective thing, and so instead of “make it better” it would be really helpful to our team for you to pick maybe one or two designs that you find compelling and illustrative of what you’d want to see in Kadence, and then explain what specifically you find useful about those one or two designs.
Sending us a page full of examples and saying “do it like this” is a recipe for us going and spending the time to build something that’s still not what you had in mind.
One thing that you’ll see around here is that we are moving toward less opinionated designs, allowing design and content decisions to center around the needs of the Business. Our design library and Kadence AI will help with that. We are laser-focused on sites that do something other than just look good. Designs should supplement and move visitors toward business objectives (while still looking great!).
We’re constantly looking for ways to make incremental improvements to our designs, while also walking the line of allowing our more advanced designer users the freedom to design their own in performant and accessible ways.
Thanks for taking the time to reach out!
In forum: Kadence ThemeAugust 10, 2023 at 6:43 am #284984Hi All,
I want to remove Hamburger Menu from my website *Login to see link and want to show pages only. How i can fix this? using Kadence Theme. I checked every single thing in Theme Customization, but not getting any solution for it. Please help me in solving it.
Thanks & Regards
Hello, I created a simple page with a slider of 4 images at the very top (full-screen). Everything worked, and now when I enter the site, the slider does not move. As if there was no jquery. I also added an advanced slider block and it does not work the same. So something broke, just unknown what.
I used the Homesteader Course template, removed unnecessary pages and maybe that was the reason – but it probably shouldn’t be?

Please help me 🙂

In forum: Kadence ThemeHi, Jonny!
I cannot view any of your pages. This screen appears – https://share.getcloudapp.com/xQuEmWvL.
I you want to show a featured page or post list on your homepage together with other content, you can use different post blocks from our Kadence Blocks plugin or from Gutenberg itself.
Some of these blocks are:
- Posts (Kadence Blocks)
- Post Grid/Carousel (Kadence Blocks Pro)
- Latest Posts
- Post List
If these are not what you’re looking for, could you at least send us a screenshot of the layout you’re trying to achieve so we can better recommend blocks?
Let us know how we can help you further.

August 9, 2023 at 5:29 pm #284966Hi There,
[carousel under the header]
With Kadence Pro, you can create a Hooked element to create a carousel.- Enable Hooked elements from Appearance > Kadence. Check the screenshot: https://share.getcloudapp.com/7KuzmN4b
- Goto Appearance > Kadence > Elements > create a new element
- You will see a pop-up to select Element Setup > Content Section. Check the screenshot: https://share.getcloudapp.com/YEuepbl9
- Select a row layout and personalize the design to suit your requirements.
- Select Element Settings from the right top icons.
- Set Placement: After Header.
- Show On: Entire site or Single Product.
[How can I change this image in the title bar]
- customizer > Posts/Pages Layout > Archive Layout > Enable Show Archive Title > Select design tab > Archive Title Background
- Check the screen recording: https://share.getcloudapp.com/7KuWkJpp
[On my homepage, I would like to have a carousel]
If you are using Kadence Blocks Pro, then you can use the Advanced Slider block to create a carousel on the homepage. https://www.kadencewp.com/kadence-blocks/pro/advanced-slider/[I’d rather have the search bar directly in my header. Is this possible?]
You can add a search bar in the header from customizer > Header > Search bar(Drag and Drop in your header)
The Search Bar item is only available in the header for users with the Kadence Pro plugin installed and activated on their website.
Check the screen recording: https://share.getcloudapp.com/2Nup7xpQ
[filter for my shop page]
You can use a Sidebar on your Shop Archives. You can customize the Sidebar by going to your Appearance > Menus. WooCommerce comes with filter blocks that can be used on your Sidebar. For example, the Filter: Product By Price block.Once you have customized and saved your Sidebar, you can go to your Customizer > WooCommerce > Product Catalog. You can select an Archive Layout with a Sidebar under the Archive Layout options.
Here is a video for reference: https://share.getcloudapp.com/YEuD9YzJ
You can also consider using the Catalog Off Canvas Widget. You can go to your Appearance > Widget and add your filters to the Catalog Off Canvas Widget. Then you can go to your Customizer > WooCommerce > Product Catalog. You will see the Off-Canvas Sidebar settings. You can enable the option to Add Off Canvas Widget Area. This will allow you to set a Toggle Icon and Label. The Toggle Icon and Label will appear above your Shop Items. Once you press the Toggle Icon, the Catalog Off Canvas Widget will slide out.
Here is a video for reference: https://share.getcloudapp.com/JruyJBLX[On my product detail page: I have cross/upsell products, but can I turn it into a carousel, so I can show more items?]
Currently, there is no option to turn the cross/upsell section into a carousel. Kadence offers a carousel for the related products section.[Currently I am using the mega menu, and it opens on hover. Can I let it open on click instead?]
You can do this using Custom CSS and Custom Code. You can add Custom CSS in your Customizer> Additional CSS. https://www.kadencewp.com/kadence-theme/knowledge-base/general/how-do-i-add-custom-css/
Here is the Custom CSS:
.header-menu-container ul.menu>li.menu-item-has-children>ul.sub-menu, .header-menu-container ul.menu>li.menu-item-has-children>ul.sub-menu * { visibility: hidden !important; transition: none; } .header-menu-container ul.menu>li.menu-item-has-children>ul.sub-menu.clicked { visibility: visible !important; opacity: 1 !important; clip: auto !important; height: auto !important; overflow: visible !important; } .header-menu-container ul.menu>li.menu-item-has-children>ul.sub-menu.clicked * { visibility: visible !important; } .header-menu-container ul.menu>li.menu-item-has-children.menu-item-object-custom>ul.sub-menu.clicked { display: block; }You can add this code using the Code Snippets plugin: https://www.kadencewp.com/kadence-theme/knowledge-base/advanced/how-to-add-a-custom-filter-or-function-with-code-snippets/
Here is the Custom Code:
add_action('wp_footer', function(){ ?> <script> const megaMenu = document.querySelectorAll('.kadence-menu-mega-enabled > a'); const subMenu = document.querySelectorAll('.kadence-menu-mega-enabled > .sub-menu'); const siteNavigation = document.getElementById('site-navigation'); megaMenu.forEach( function(menu){ menu.addEventListener('click', function(e){ e.preventDefault(); if ( menu.parentElement.querySelector('.sub-menu').classList.contains('clicked') ) { subMenu.forEach( function(submenu){ submenu.classList.remove('clicked'); }); } else { subMenu.forEach( function(submenu){ submenu.classList.remove('clicked'); }); menu.parentElement.querySelector('.sub-menu').classList.add('clicked'); } }); }); document.addEventListener('click', function(event) { let isClickInsideElement = siteNavigation.contains(event.target); if (!isClickInsideElement) { subMenu.forEach( function(submenu){ submenu.classList.remove('clicked'); }); } }); </script> <?php },99);I hope this information was helpful to you. Please let me know if this works for you.

I’m trying out the new progress bar Kadence block, with the circle option.
It appears the way to reduce the size is to use the advance > Max Width setting. Is this correct? In this screenshot, you can see I changed it to Max Width 230px to get it small enough on the page to take up only a small amount of space.
Secondly, how do I get the circle progress bar to be centered in the middle of the page?
You can see I tried to use the “Align center” control in the settings above the block, but this doesn’t change its position — at least not when you choose “Align center.” And I don’t see any other options in the settings in the righthand side panel.
Is it required to stick the progress bar block inside of its own section or row and try and center it with one of these, such as with “text-align: center,” etc?
Thank you for any help on this!

In forum: Kadence BlocksIn reply to: Where can I find the fullwidth option for rows?
August 9, 2023 at 1:31 am #284956Hello, first of all thank you for the answer. I know all the tips mentioned, I have been developing websites with WordPress for over 10 years. After I could not eliminate the error, I did not want to destroy any of my other development sites and have not updated the Kadence updates (theme, plugins) there first.
Because of your hint, the error would not be traceable, I have now updated another page. The error does not occur there. After that I overwrote the theme folder and also the Kadence plugins with the versions of the working installation. Unfortunately without success.
It is mysterious, it is definitely not due to other plugins and also not the cache. Is there any setting – for example in the Customizer – that prevents the display of the missing options?
If I actually come across a solution yet, I will report. In forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: Individual page fixed width?
Hi, Sara!
I’m sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
We can target the 1920px screen width. Then, to apply the width change that you want to do, you will need to use the “body” CSS class of those specific pages.
You can see those by inspecting the page and checking the code. Like this – https://share.getcloudapp.com/BluzmvoB.
You can use this custom code syntax:
@media screen and (max-width: 1920px) { .page-id-31868 .site-container { max-width: YOUR_WIDTH_VALUE_IN_PX; } }For multiple pages, it will be like this:
@media screen and (max-width: 1920px) { .page-id-31868 .site-container, .page-id-ID2 .site-container, .page-id-ID3 .site-container, { max-width: YOUR_WIDTH_VALUE_IN_PX; } }Let us know if we can help you further.

KarlaIn forum: Kadence ThemeHi there,
I have the full bundle and I need some support to achieve a few things.
1. For a set of specific products I am trying to recreate this carousel under the header where you can select the layout of your seats. Can I do this with Kadence. I thing I need to use Element hooks? How do I do this?
2. How can I change this image in the title bar
3. On my homepage I would like to have a carousel. In the past I was using the classic plugin ‘kadence slider pro‘ – Does kadence have something similar or should I use the classic one again?
4. In my header I have the search icon, but when pressing it a popup shows up with the search bar. I’d rather have the search bar directly in my header. Is this possible?
Ideally, it would instantly show me a few results in a dropdown or autocomplete manner5. I can’t find a way in kadence to have filter for my shop page. Like price range, categories, tags, colors, etc
6. On my product detail page: I have cross/upsell products, but can I turn it into a carousel, so I can show more items?
7. Currently I am using the mega menu, and it opens on hover. Can I let it open on click instead?
In forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: How do I remove an anchor tag from a URL?
August 8, 2023 at 9:15 pm #284946Hi Mohamed,
A “scroll to ID” anchor is a technique used in web development to create links that, when clicked, scroll the page to a specific section or element with a corresponding ID on the same page. This is often used to create navigation menus that allow users to jump to different sections of a long webpage without the need for abrupt jumps or page reloads.
This is normally done using the target ID from the href. This is the #anchor. Thus, this is necessary to be in the href to execute this feature.
I hope this helps. If you have further questions, please let us know; we’ll be happy to help.

Teejay. In forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Staff Posts Permalink Slug with “Staff-Group”
Hey there,
Firstly, thank you for your help, I appreciate it.
Secondly, I tried the ” Theme Settings > Blog Options. The option name is Blog post navigation setting” – but it had no effect.,
Yes, I am using a custom page template with custom nav code (I simply copied the portfolio code into a “staff” page template.
I think the problem is – the Prev / Next do not seem to be picking up the category (staff group) tax.
<div class="portfolionav clearfix"> <?php global $post, $virtue_premium; if(!empty($virtue_premium['portfolio_arrow_nav']) && ($virtue_premium['portfolio_arrow_nav'] == 'cat') ) {$arrownav = true;} else {$arrownav = false;} $parent_link = get_post_meta( $post->ID, '_kad_portfolio_parent', true ); if(!empty($parent_link) && ($parent_link != 'default')) {$parent_id = $parent_link;} else {$parent_id = $virtue_premium['portfolio_link'];} previous_post_link_plus( array('order_by' => 'menu_order', 'loop' => true, 'in_same_tax' => $arrownav, 'format' => '%link', 'link' => '<i class="icon-arrow-left"></i>Previous Bio ') ); ?> <?php if( !empty($parent_id)){ ?> <a href="<?php echo get_page_link($parent_id); ?>" title="Back to Team"> <?php } else {?> <a href="../"> <?php } ?> <i class="icon-grid" title="Back to Team"></i></a> <?php next_post_link_plus( array('order_by' => 'menu_order', 'loop' => true, 'in_same_tax' => $arrownav, 'format' => '%link', 'link' => 'Next Bio <i class="icon-arrow-right"></i>') ); ?> </div>So – when I try with a staff member bio, I hover over next or prev and it simply shows the url as follows:
https://example.com/staff/staff-name/
But what I would like it to show is :
https://example.com/staff/staff-group-name/staff-name/
(with staff-group-name, the name of the taxonomy / category created under the staff CPT in admin)
I also tried your snippet (which fyi is incomplete) and:
add_filter( 'register_post_type_args', 'wpse247328_register_post_type_args', 10, 2 ); function wpse247328_register_post_type_args( $args, $post_type ) { if ( 'staff' === $post_type ) { $args['rewrite'] = array ( 'slug' => 'staff/%taxonomy_name%/%term_slug%', 'with_front' => false, 'has_archive' => 'staff-group', ); } return $args; }However, this just resulted in the following URL in the browser, when I clicked on the next item nav. I did refresh permalinks in WP settings.
https://example.com/staff/%taxonomy_name%/%term_slug%/staff-name/

In forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: Rearranging menu in header
August 8, 2023 at 5:31 am #284927Hi there,
I’m here to help.
You can rearrange the menu items in WP Admin > Appearance > Menus. This can also be done on Customizer settings.
In the Menus page, you can create new menus and assign a menu as the Primary. Then, make sure you add the Primary Navigation widget on your header.

August 8, 2023 at 5:24 am #284926Hi there,
Is the lagging issue you’ve been experiencing on desktop or mobile? I checked your site, and it loads fast on my end – here’s a video: https://share.getcloudapp.com/X6u7G2Bl
There’s no incident reported that there’s a conflict between Kadence theme and WP Rocket. The optimization plugin should work well with any modern theme.
As for the site’s speed, here’s our article you can refer to:
https://www.kadencewp.com/blog/need-for-speed/I’ve also run a page speed test and here’s the result: https://share.getcloudapp.com/jkuRjyne
I think the issue is on your end. Have you tried connecting to a stronger internet connection or checking the issue on different browsers with all extensions disabled?

We apologize for the delayed response, as we have a high volume of tickets. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
The WooCommerce orders and products should be retained if you switch to a different theme. However, theme-specific shortcodes won’t work on a different theme. In this case, you’ll need to recreate broken sections/pages manually.
As for the migration process, you can reach out to your host to help you with this.
