Topic: Reduce excessive DOM size.
March 31, 2023 at 1:37 am #283064Hi,
I am working on optimizing my core web vital scores using Kadence and Nitropack. I have some descent results so far with changes made mainly through nitropack.
However, reducing the DOM size is an issue. I have attached screenshots.
I had a Developper look at it and this is what he had to say:”
1-A LOT of stylesheet links
2-Kadence hides things for mobile (like .mobile-header and .mobile-drawer) when on desktop (And presumably vice versa) rather than removing them…built in unfortunately – would have to create a child theme and doctor it…probably not worth it.
3-A decent amount of elements related to the menus
4-Several of those blocks on the home page take up a lot of dom elements – the carousel, the personal Bible study section, the block at the bottom mentioning ‘go beyond etc’, (This is also where the deepest elements are)
“.Is there a solution you have found for such problems with the Kadence theme? There are some issues with my configuration, which I can address like the home page design.
Thanks,
PatrickIn forum: Kadence BlocksMarch 30, 2023 at 10:07 pm #283063Hello, thank you.
I thought it was resolved. But it came back still having the issue and I’m not sure why.
juanononecoaching.com is the page.
I thought is was the woocommerce only but now it’s all of them again

Hi Teejay – thanks for the recordings. I adjusted the all of the design settings and created padding to essentially 0 on both of the links you sent, however, I’m still getting this giant gap across all the pages.
Here is a link to the site:

Hi I checked a site with conversion pop ups I created. They display on the webpage but when I go to to create new or edit conversions I get “This block has encountered an error and cannot be previewed.” See attached pic. I am creating a new website from a production site and when I go into either each says the same. I uninstalled and reinstalled on the new website but did not help.

In forum: Kadence BlocksIn reply to: Tab Block: Link into unopened tab. (deep linking?)
March 30, 2023 at 10:28 am #283049Sorry. I found the answer to question 1 as I initially missed the tab anchor setting.
I would still like to know if you can deep link further into a tab to specific content that would be farther down the page (question 2 from above)
In forum: Kadence BlocksMarch 30, 2023 at 9:16 am #283047I have a page that contains a tab block with 4 tabs. Is it possible to link directly into an unopened tab? A use case might be a link in an email campaign that needs to go to content directly within tab 3. Is there a way to do this?
In forum: Kadence ThemeMarch 30, 2023 at 8:20 am #283040Hi there,
Thanks for writing.
I tested your codes and both worked on my test site. Here’s a video: https://share.getcloudapp.com/nOuKvgJZ
Perhaps, there’s a missing or excess brackets {} in your custom CSS. Try adding any of those codes on the top most.
If it still doesn’t work, kindly clear any cache on your website and try visiting the page in an incognito window.
Another question is How to reduce the H3 text size only in left sidebar without affecting the H3 in main content.
You can use any heading block in your sidebar, such as the Advanced Text block, so you can customize the font. Otherwise, you’ll need to use the below sample custom CS.
.has-left-sidebar .primary-sidebar h3{ font-size: 15px !important }I hope this helps, and please let us know how we can help further.

ChitoIn forum: Virtue ThemeIn reply to: Eliminate render-blocking resources
Hi, Carlos.
You’re right, in some instances, that is true as well. Another optimization option is to minify CSS and/or JS files that aren’t minified yet. Overall, our Kadence Blocks plugin and Kadence theme are optimized and lightweight.
But that cannot guarantee that a website will be fast. A large contributor to page speed is the content. For example, if there is a lot of content on the homepage with images that aren’t optimized (too large), it will take a longer time for a page to load.
I hope this gave you more insights about page speed.
Let us know if we can help you further with this.

KarlaIn forum: Ascend ThemeHi, Dillon!
I’m sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
I activated the Ascend Premium theme and SiteOrigin plugins but I still didn’t see those layouts. Watch this screen recording – https://share.getcloudapp.com/z8uGOKZP.
It would be great if we can see an actual page where you added the carousel so we can better help with custom CSS code.
On the other hand, try editing the CSS code that Eze gave to:
.slick-dots li button:before { color: #ffcc00!important; }I hope this helps. Please let us know if this worked for you.

Hi, Christoph!
I tried this on my website but there is no FAQ schema on my page if the option for it was not enabled in the Accordion block. Watch this screen recording – https://share.getcloudapp.com/04u62pg0.
Please could you double-check if you have a block default for the Accordion block? You can find that under the Advanced tab of the block settings. If you do, try to modify it and delete the
faqSchemaattribute. Here’s a screen recording for a guide – https://share.getcloudapp.com/v1uPYZro.I hope this helps. Please let us know if we can help you further.

Hi, Matt!
The images inside the fluid carousel will also follow the Carousel Height option. Please watch this screen recording – https://share.getcloudapp.com/Z4unKOJm.
Lighthouse detects images not sized properly if their actual image size is not the same or close to their render size. Could you give us a page URL where we can see your carousel? This is so we can inspect and suggest appropriate settings to correct the size.
You may mark your response as private so only you and the support team can see the page URL.
Let us know how we can assist you further.

KarlaIn forum: Kadence BlocksHi there,
I was unable to replicate the issue on my website. The Advanced Gallery block carousel is autoplaying.
Watch my screen recording of the “Notre vision” page on your website for reference:
https://share.getcloudapp.com/OAuoQ5RLYou can try the following troubleshooting steps:
– Try clearing your web browser cache, or try visiting your website in incognito mode.
– This might be due to accessibility settings on your device not allowing these animations. Try to locate the accessibility setting on your device and enable “Allow show scrollbar” in the visual effect option (Please note that the accessibility setting label may vary on different devices).
– Try visiting your website on a different web browser.
– Try using another device to visit your website and let me know if the issue is replicated on it.I hope this helps. Please let us know how we can help further.
Cheers,
EzeIn forum: Kadence ThemeHi,
Currently, there is no built-in option for that.
But you can do this using code snippets.
You code would be like this:
add_filter('kadence_element_display', function( $display, $element, $meta ){ $exclude_ids = array( PAGE_ID ); $my_wp_query = new WP_Query(); $all_wp_pages = $my_wp_query->query(array('post_type' => 'page')); $child_pages = get_page_children( PAGE_ID, $all_wp_pages ); $child_ids = wp_list_pluck( $child_pages, 'ID' ); $ids = array_merge( $exclude_ids, $child_ids ); if ( in_array( get_the_ID(), $ids ) && $element->ID === 'ELEMENT_ID' ) { return false; } return $display; }, 20, 3);Just change the PAGE_ID to the correct page ID that you want to exclude.
You can add this code using the Code Snippets plugin: https://www.kadencewp.com/kadence-theme/knowledge-base/advanced/how-to-add-a-custom-filter-or-function-with-code-snippets/
I hope this helps.

In forum: Kadence ThemeIn forum: Kadence BlocksHello,
I am using Kadence blocks with kadence theme (with a simple child theme).
I putted an advanced gallery block but in slider or carousel mode the autoplay function doesn’t display any image sliding or change.
I tried it on another page but I have the same problem…
You can see it here :

May someone help me ?
Thank you !In forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: Automaticly pull update date.
March 28, 2023 at 10:07 pm #282999Hi there,
Thanks for writing.
You can use Hooked Element (Kadence Pro plugin) and pull the last modified date dynamically (Kadence Blocks Pro plugin). Here’s an example: https://share.getcloudapp.com/OAuoQx5D
However, there’s no setting to place the element exactly in the middle of the post. What you can select as a placement is the “After Fourth Paragraph” option.
If you don’t have Kadence Blocks Pro, you can use the Gutenberg Post Date and enable the “Display last modified date” option in the block settings. Furthermore, if you don’t have Kadence Pro, you’ll need to add that block for every post page manually.
Please let us know how we can help further.

March 28, 2023 at 8:20 pm #282998Hi Amy,
I am not able to replicate this on my test website. The Post carousel is able to display the posts in a loop.
Here’s a screen recording for reference: https://share.getcloudapp.com/eDuryoGz
You also mentioned that you applied a temporary fix and applied it to this page: http://ukulelecraig.com/somewhere
However, I can see that this page is also not displaying the carousel in a loop and that you have a caching/optimization feature on your website. See Video: https://share.getcloudapp.com/Wnumxwgl
Have you had a chance to do the troubleshooting steps/tips listed in this article after updating to Kadence Blocks 3.0: https://www.kadencewp.com/blog/introducing-blocks-3
Best regards,
Teejay.In forum: Ascend ThemeEze,
Are there any updates yet?
I’m not utilizing the “Kadence Cloud Library”.
This is a custom pre-built SiteOrigin Page Builder layout that is built in to the Ascend Theme. The website I’m working on is not live. The demo could be used instead.
If you scroll down to a carousel titled “Header Layout Styles”, you will see a set of slick-dots below the carousel. In forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: Update of theme causes issue
Hi, Phillip!
Thanks for the steps to replicate.
I followed them but every time I edit a page with the Row Layout block with a video background, I can still see the Video Poster option. Watch this screen recording – https://share.getcloudapp.com/Qwu8EnzN.
The screenshot only shows a warning, could you try doing this on your browser to ensure that errors are also shown? Here’s the screen recording – https://share.getcloudapp.com/qGuqEOGB.
Let us know how we can help you further with this.
Kind regards,
