Topic: Homepage disappeared
Hi guys
My homepage has gone blank – only showing my banner and logo. I have changed nothing in the homepage layout but everything is now blank – I think since the last upgrade?
I don’t use page content because I use the custom menus to create the page. If i enable page content it just comes up with a few words (which is all I have on that page) but the other features are no longer working. I’ve never had this problem before.

This reply has been marked as private.In forum: Virtue ThemeHi. I typically get email notified that there is a new theme version of Virtue available and then I update from the theme menu admin. I started a new site to test and uploaded an older version of Virtue Premium. I’ve had this new site for well over a week and never got the email to update, so I decided to manually update. I activated another theme and then deleted the old Virtue theme from within the WordPress backend (did not uninstall anything). I then uploaded the latest version 3.5.4 from your website from “My Account”. While the website front end appears unbroken, the “Theme Options” backend menu does not work and has a red banner at the top that reads “FORCED DEV MODE OFF ENABLED”. I’ve never updated a theme this way and suppose I messed it up the way did it. Is there a way to rescue this and the settings I had? Thanks very much!

Is there a plan to allow the sitewide banner to have an expiration date for visibility and then maybe an admin email warning stating it will expire in “x” number of hours? A feature like that would be great for sales ending at a certain time and date. What do you think?

I noticed that when I land on my website’s home page (groomsring.com) the icons don’t look like what they should. For instance, the magnifying glass in from of the Product Search icon looks like a tiny box, and the left and right scroll arrows at the ends of the banner also display as tiny rectangular boxes. It’s not until I click to go to another page within the website and then return to the home page the icons appear as they should. I use firefox and I also tried it on Google Chrome and it’s the same and on Safari. How can I fix this?

Hannah, thank you very much, with just a little tweaking, what you sent me worked perfectly on the home page (and most of the way on the other pages). Here’s the code I ended up with:

What happens is, I have the transparent header enabled on the other pages, and if I have it show the page name in the header, then everything works correctly. But, I don’t want to show the page name. But when I set it to hide the page name, then the transparent header stops being used. Is there a way to get the transparent header on these other pages, without showing the page name in the header?

@media (min-width: 992px) { .home .cycloneslider-template-standard .cycloneslider-slide img { padding-top: 200px; } .admin-bar.stickyheader #kad-banner { background: #999; } }You can paste that in your custom css box in Theme Options > Custom CSS.

The website is http://www.barbanndesigns.com On a computer you should see a banner with that name but on the mobile it will still have a header that says my old business name of Thoughtful Images Ink. The new site is parked on the old one with Bluehost as the server to both.

Yeah on mobile this would be a little different. I supposed on ipad in landscape you would need this css:.kad-header-style-two .kad-header-center #logo { min-height: 125px; }Which all together would look like this:

Hi all,
So i made a choice how my website must look what height and size do my banners have to be so it looks nice?
now my pages all look different , also when i have a slider which works on pc it will be cut in half at telephone or tablet etc
anyone can help me what the best practise is? how do you guys do this?

You seem to be adding this:.kad-header-style-basic #logo #thelogo { padding-top: 10px; padding-bottom: 20px; }Which I suggest removing.
The best thing would be to upload an image with the padding you want already as part of the image. meaning there is space at the top and bottom, then as this shrinks it would look the best in terms of size.
Else with css you can do this:
#kad-banner #logo .kad-standard-logo { background-size: auto 80% !important; }Ben
