Topic: menus disappear
My site is under construction and I have been trying different settings in the theme options section. Periodically the menus disappear, i.e. when I edited my Contact page and set up the Contact template in page attributes, it occurred. Several attempts to ‘reset’ the menus failed, I rebooted and tried resetting again and they reappeared. Most recently I’ve been trying the slider options mostly between thumb and flex options. The menus are gone again and my efforts to reset have produced no results.
FYI when I ‘reset’ menus I go into the Appearance, Menu section, Manage Locations and ‘Save Changes’ then to Edit Menus section to re-save my primary and secondary menus. Am I ‘resetting’ correctly? And more importantly how is it that this menu disappearance keeps happening?

January 28, 2014 at 4:46 pm #3752With a plugin, not built into the theme though. contact form7 should work nicely, just add the shortcode to a text box.

In forum: Virtue ThemeTopic: Image folder location
Hello, I uploaded a product image and then published. Then I went back and changed/uploaded the image for that product, but it still reflects the first image in the frontpage carousel and on the Shop page. I tried creating a new product with a similar name but different name and it shows the first image with that product too. I have cleared the cache and also checked it with a different browser. I have tried deleting the image in the dashboard to no effect. Would I need to go into the files/folders (via Dreamweaver) and delete that image. If so, where would I find that folder? If not, I am using WooCommerce do I need to contact them for the folder location? Nothing else seems to work. Thanks for your support.

January 9, 2014 at 2:43 pm #3188OH sorry, yeah what am I thinking it wouldn’t work for the contact form… hmm Let me look into this a bit. Have you thought of using contact form 7? I added styling for it and I seem to remember it having stuff built in or a plugin that can be used.

Sorry, Ben, it’s me again.
I tried out the contact page template but as soon as I published it I started receiving spam, so I have reverted to the jetpack contact form for now. I would rather use the theme template but don’t know what is the best way to protect it – can you recommend any options? Preferably options which come with idiot-proof instructions? (I was reading this *Login to see link on custom forms but it is way beyond my understanding).
Many thanks
Cally

In forum: Virtue ThemeHi Ben,
as seen on many websites I think an option for a login to “my account” and maybe a contact button would be a nice-to-have besides the shopping cart.
I tried the individual menu for the topbar-widget-area, but that doesn’t look good. I wanted to ask you if it’s difficult to get these icons in a nice and clean style like the shopping cart (icon+text) into the topbar?! Maybe it’s an option for the next update?Regards, Martin

December 20, 2013 at 9:29 am #2709You can use the contact page template. There is an option there to turn the contact form off.

I have heard back from my host provider as follows:
“I have reviewed over your website and have noticed a lot of permissions that were incorrectly set for the server’s suPHP Apache configuration. I have ran a simple script to help make sure everything now has the correct permissions. I have reviewed over the server logs and have found no recent errors pertaining towards these issues you’ve been experiencing. You will likely need to contact either WordPress directly [ http://wordpress.org/support/ ] or any third-party plugins support for further help in the matter as it appears to be likely a coding issue if it’s not because of the previous permissions.”However the “pinterest pin it button for images” still doesn’t work – when you try to “pin” an image I get the error message “Woops soory we could not fetch the image”
Have you come across this before – could it be the plugin itself? – or a setting I need to change?

December 19, 2013 at 10:32 am #2659No, the text domain is there… you can use contact form 7 plugin instead.

Hi Ben,
absolutely appreciate your help here…sorry to hear that you have to invest so much time into this issue 🙁
Since I know that this is a Redux and not a Virtue issue, I contacted also the Redux author on Github https://github.com/ReduxFramework/ReduxFramework/issues/401
Perhaps dovy comes up with a solution and can correct the error in Redux…
Btw.: Never worked so far with this in- and export (read the tutorial though)…right now not exactly sure how to do that…will experiment
Thank you so much
Dan
In forum: Virtue ThemeDecember 10, 2013 at 11:54 am #2346So the reason it’s not opening the image in a light-box like it should is because there is a javascript error with one of your plugins. I think the Responsive Contact Form Plugin. Try disabling it.

December 5, 2013 at 12:07 pm #2178The trick is actually to move the image right, the contact form already has a float left on it, This just makes the section where the image is float right and allows the contact form to float all the way to the left.
