In reply to: String translations for "Find out more" and "All"
In forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: Loco Translate
Yes i see it now, just that under that there is a list of languages with 100% translated and that got me confused.
Sorry for that, i understand that only the top two are actually translated.
What is that long list of languages and why do all say they are translated ?Thank you
In forum: Ascend ThemeIn reply to: Loco Translate
Sorry Ben, i don’t get it also.
There was already a pakage there named German witch says 100% translated. When i klick on that Pakage i didn’t find the string. If that is wrong than it is at least a bit missleading – and i mean the Loco plugin.
If i understand this, i have to add a new language and start translating ?In forum: Pinnacle ThemeIn reply to: Changing colour of "Read More" in Site Style 3

Hi Ben,
I’m sorry, but I’ve in Loco syncronized and all those strings are missing from the theme po.files. I’ve also checked the Swedish po-file by ftp:
…/virtue-premium/languages/se.po and the German version de_DE.po
In the German version there is for example Previous and Next (these can not be found in the Swedish version, the Finnish po-file is missing totally)
In the German version also Find out more is missing. Can you add all these to the po-files? Or how can it be fixed?
Thank you
Pamela

I’m not sure how
But if i Open the Loco Translate options and choose Ascend under Themes and then German Language i can’t find “ABOUT” in the search.
Now if i go to FILE INFO Tab it says PO file is missingAlso there is a notice in the Bundle Setup:
” This bundle’s configuration has been automatically detected, but isn’t fully complete.
37 files can’t be matched to a known set of strings ”
Looking at the advanced settings didn’t help much, i didn’t touch that as i don’t know what the settings mean. I did reset the configuration once before asking here – didn’t do a thing

Hi Hannah
No, it does not affect the bit I want to change.* Putting in a custom excerpt only affects call to action in the “Latest from the blog” section.
* If I go to Theme Options/Language Settings, I can change the wording in “Post READ MORE” text, but that also only affects previous posts and the “Latest from the blog” section – not the post at the top.The “Read More” text in the post at the top seems to be coming from the coding behind ——–MORE————- when I hover over this I can see the words “Read more…”. I cannot see how to change this (it doesn’t seem to be a short code), or even if this is where it comes from because the text when I hover has a lower case “m” in “more” but on my site it shows with an upper case “M” ie “Read More” with no …. following it.
I copied the ——MORE——- from your templates – is it possible the wording is hard coded in and can’t be changed? In forum: Membership ForumsHi again,
I think that I’m not the only one who has found it difficult to translate some of the strings in your theme. I’ve tried to find the strings by using Loco Translate but without success. In the Virtue PO-file these cannot be found…Where can these strings be translated:
– Find out more >> (this string is translated in Events Calender to Swedish and Finnish, but it still shows it in English)
– Upcoming Events (this string is translated in Events Calender to Swedish and Finnish, but it still shows it in English)
– All (this string is translated in Events Calender to Swedish and Finnish, but it still shows it in English)
– Month names (these strings are translated in Events Calender to Swedish and Finnish, but it still shows it in English)
– Previous Events (this string is translated in Events Calender to Swedish and Finnish, but it still shows it in English)Here is an old message that I found in the Events Calender Group, it seams that all these strings can is somewhere in your theme:
“Good evening Luis,
Thank you for writing back.
I took a second look at your theme files and I have found the culprit.
In the single-event.php file found in the Virtue theme (/virtue-theme/tribe-events/single-event.php) , “Find out more” string is being associated with the theme files.
..’Find out more’, ‘virtue’.. at line 76
There are a few things you can do about that:
Change that line to replace the previous bit with ..’Find out more’, ‘the-events-calendar’…
Locate and update your theme’s language file for SpanishThank you also for suggesting better translations.
The good news is that:You can contribute to that effort here: *Login to see link
You can always override any of these translations to your liking as long as you keep your files in /wp-content/languages/. You will need to grab a copy of the free Poedit software to do that.Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!
Geoff B.”
Hopefully you can help me!
Pamela
In forum: Ascend ThemeTopic: Loco Translate
Hi Kadencers,
i have installed the Loco Translate Plugin but when searching for the strings to translate (like About Author) i can’t find them. I searched the theme strings and WordPress strings. Beside this, it says German is 100% translated, but only the backend is.
Another strange thing is that the site is set to German, but my profile is English and the backend shows a mix of the 2 languages. For ex. Theme options are English but the save button is translated to german
What am i missing ?
In forum: Virtue ThemeThanks Hannah, That’s much improved; now only one more issue remains, which is:
the Facebook icon is on one side of the search bar, but the “follow us” language is on the other side of the search bar.
How can these 2 be brought together as they should be?
Thanks!

Hi Hannah
I have done all the things in my response above March 22, and I have put a break ——-MORE——– within Page Builder (copied from one of the other examples). The Previous Posts show “Continue Reading” http://www.theexcursionista.com/ but the feature article on the home page says “Read more”
I’m not sure where I should be looking to see if “Read More” tag has been added to post (or is it the —-MORE—–), now where to go to give it a custom excerpt (is that in Theme Option>Language Settings – if so, see my last response March 22)

Hi Hannah
Thanks. Changing colour worked.
Changing the wording – in theory simple but when I get to Theme Options>Language Settings the section “The Post READ MORE text/Standard: Read More has the following in the input box <b>Continue Reading…</b>. The term Continue Reading shows up in the template example posts, but not on my new post – which shows Read More ie the standard. Not sure what to do here.
Thanks

Hey Maria,
You should be able to go into Loco translate, and open up your Spanish language file. Enter “Cart Summary” in the “Filter translations” text box above the strings, and you should see the translation under there.
I just tested on my site and was able to find this. Let me know if you’re unable.

March 13, 2017 at 2:02 pm #136620I can confirm it’s there in the theme included in the pot language file. Try re syncing your language.
