Hey guys! I’ve been using the Kednace theme for a while now, and overall, I’m super impressed with its mobile optimization and clean layout. However, I’ve run into a small issue when trying to customize the widgets on specific pages.

For some reason, when I add custom CSS for certain widgets, the styling doesn’t seem to apply correctly on those pages, although it works fine on the homepage and blog section. Has anyone else experienced something similar with Kednace’s widget styling?

Would appreciate any suggestions or tips on how to resolve this. Here’s my site for reference:

This message pop up up when I go into starter templates. Reloading the page and syncing with the cloud does not fix the issue. Is there a fix?

I already had a post on the forum, but it dissappeared as I was editing it.

    Two issues.

    1. If I choose the posts page to be the blog-page, it will only display three posts. No other page content. I can workaround this by deselecting the page from the settings and customizing it “manually”. However I would like to have it working this way too.

    2. I am unable to display any images in a posts-block, even if I choose a premade pattern and the preview displays images.

Example 1 shows three different rows with posts-block, and none of them contain an image. Ex2 shows the preview of how the last row of example 1 should look.

    Example 1:

I am having a hard time at with featured images and other images, I have auto compression set up in my WordPress Woocommerce store with Smush Pro.

I had an image on the home page just below the menus in the header which was uploaded to my server and that I just added with HTML in WordPress Home Page for when I have special sales, the image was scaled and compressed to a size of 71KB and still it was showing as as too large for FCP and LCP and and Page Speed Insights Tests and Hummingbird Pro.

Insights show a 73 score for Mobile which is being attributed to FCP (First Contentful Paint) and LCP (largest contentful element painted within the viewport) for that image.

so I removed it and now…

I am getting the same fails for FCP and LCP except now it is being attributed to the featured images of the products on the home page since that image described above is no longer on the front page.

The featured images are also showing as not correctly sized for container.

I attached a screenshot of the front page with that sale image, which I have now removed for testing.

I am at my wits end as this seems to be the greatest issue for my page speeds in mobile (scored a 73 on Speed Page Insights) and Google Search Console is dinging me on Mobile Speed. Desktop speed is at 97.

How can I fix this featured image issue, I have hundreds of products so to scale each one manually would be impossible? I also want to continue to place my image for special sales as well, but I can’t make it any smaller than 71kb.

    Hi,

I’m trying to add a subtitle to each blog post, but I’m having trouble finding the right field. I noticed that the “Edit page” section has a field for subtitles, but this option is missing in the “Edit post” section. Could you please guide me on how to add a subtitle to individual blog posts? I’d appreciate your assistance.

I am using Virtue Premium Theme.

    Thanks,
    Yogi

Hello, the link to a video above leads to a not found page.

Kadence used to have a way to show/hide the featured image, but since a recent update changed the interface it seems to have vanished, or maybe it moved and I just can’t find it?
Here is an image of where it used to be… now in the new interface there is only the option to set a featured image, or not set it.

    Has it moved somewhere else?
    Thanks

    thank you for fixing.

Hello, I’m trying to display a product on my home page with shortcode [product_page id=”x”]. Everything works, but when I try to edit the homepage again, It’s displaying empty editor with title of that product, instead of the code from homepage.

    To reproduce this:
    – Create New page and insert shortcode [product_page id=”x”]
    – Save and check the New page is correctly displayed
    – Now try to edit New page again – there is no shortcode block. Instead, there is a title of the product x and empty field

    Hi everyone,

I’m having a problem with seeing a quick flash of the menu in outline form as page loads. I recently switched off an alternate menu from Elements to go back to standard Kadence menu. Any ideas on what is happening and how to stop it.

    Hi Attila,

The Kadence theme doesn’t set a height for the content container. Most WordPress themes do not have a specific setting to adjust the container height directly; instead, the container height is typically automatic and adjusts based on its content.

Here’s an example where I can create a page with a long content and it will not create a scroll bar in the content area: https://share.zight.com/o0uAvonz

Can you try adding this content on a page without the wpdicuz feature?

What happens if you enable a WordPress default theme like the Twenty Twenty-One theme?

For initial troubleshooting, please could you do the steps listed in this article https://www.kadencewp.com/blog/how-to-troubleshoot-your-website? This will help us rule out these usual causes of WordPress issues, so we can move on to investigating other possible causes of this issue on your website.

Let us know how it works out, and we’re happy to offer further help.

    Hi Kenneth,

    Thanks for writing in.

You can create a hooked element, display the author bio dynamically using Kadence dynamic content feature, and select the categories in the display settings. The display settings help you target the pages/posts from specific categories.

For single posts, you can also create a hooked element and select the individual posts in the Display Settings or manually add the author bio on the post editor.

    Hope this helps!

Let me know how I can assist further.

    Best,
    Chito

I did not find that option in the said place. (Screenshot attached, auto deletes in 2 weeks)

This should be simple but I’ve spent hours trying to do this.

I want the Shop page to have a Category heading and then underneath the product thumbnail: short description, More Information button etc. for that category.

I’ve tried a variety of solutions, but when I apply them, clicking on the button does not take me to the relevant product page but stays on the shop.

I attach a screenshot of what I’m aiming for

Any suggestions will help me to retain what hair i have left 🙂

I should probably mention that the problem only affected Posts/Pages Layout –> Single Post Layout. All “Pages,” and the Archive Layout, were displaying Sidebar 1.

Hi want to remove post exerpt and want to show the full content in my home page could you help??

    Hello,

I’m embedding HTML code from a third party into a post to collect entries for a contest, but I’m encountering a double scroll bar on the left side (see attached screenshot).

I reached out to the provider, and they advised the following:

“Our embeds are designed to occupy the full height and width of the container they’re placed in. It seems that a height may be set on the container, which could be squeezing the embed and causing the scroll bar. Most WordPress themes/builders have a setting that allows you to adjust the container height.”

I’ve attempted to modify the post layout and content style, but the double scroll bar issue persists across both mobile and desktop in Chrome and Edge. Interestingly, in Firefox, the scroll bar appears initially when the page loads but is removed after the user scrolls down.

Do you have any suggestions for resolving this issue?

Here’s the link to the post:

    Thank you for your assistance!

    Hi Kenneth,

I can’t replicate the issue on my test website. The sidebar for the single page applies the selected widget whether it is the Sidebar 1 or Sidebar 2.

    Here’s a screen recording for reference: https://share.zight.com/jku0KQ7r

This issue seems unique to your website.

For initial troubleshooting, please could you do the steps listed in this article https://www.kadencewp.com/blog/how-to-troubleshoot-your-website? This will help us rule out these usual causes of WordPress issues, so we can move on to investigating other possible causes of this issue on your website.

Can we also have the link to your website so we can investigate?

Please let us know; we’ll be happy to help.

    Best regards,
    Teejay.

    Hello,

I’m having a problem with the right sidebar. It is not displaying “Sidebar 1” as I have it in the settings.

Here is the Sidebar 1 Widget:

Whether I set the global settings for for Sidebar 1 to display, it doesn’t display. The sidebar area (with a grey background so you can see it), displays, but not Sidebar 1.

This happens on all pages EXCEPT for the archive pages. When I set the global settings on the archive pages to display Sidebar 1, it works.

I have also tried this with individual post page settings… but it still doesn’t display Sidebar 1.

    Can you assist?
