Hi
I’m looking for the best way to have a background image overlap two rows like in this screenshot
Ideally I’d like to be able to set the size and position of the overlapping images so they sit to the far left and right of the page and span two different row blocks.
All ideas and suggestions appreciated!
Thanks
Kate

April 16, 2025 at 3:51 pm #293588Hey there,
Sorry for the delay.
I’ve taken time to review your demo site both yesterday and today, and so far, I haven’t been able to locate the CSS spacing issue you’re referring to. I also tested by adding an Advanced Text block and checked the generated CSS, and in all my tests, the var(–global-heading-font-family, inherit) rule is output correctly without any issues.
In your case, you have shared a screenshot of the variable outputting like this:
var( --global-heading-font-family, inherit ), which is causing an issue on your end. However, I haven’t been able to encounter this yet.The only issue I encountered on your main site was this one: https://share.zight.com/Kou5qQ1z
But this issue doesn’t occur for me at all on the demo site: https://share.zight.com/JruYbw8QI’ve also cross-tested both of these things on several of my test websites and haven’t been able to reproduce the problem there either. In general, I don’t think our Theme adds these things by default.
When I had access to your site earlier, I was looking specifically for this issue and the main source, but please note that we don’t typically add code directly to a site’s theme files, mostly because such changes would be overwritten over time as the theme updates.
That being said, I’d really appreciate it if you could share the exact location or page where you’re seeing the issue, ideally with a specific block or element. That will help us narrow this down more precisely and determine whether this is theme-related or perhaps something being introduced by an optimization plugin or other 3rd party plugin. (I am looking for this code on your page
(Please note: Our support team designates an hour of time a day to public support forums. For quicker premium support, I suggest continuing the conversation through a Premium Support Ticket.)
Once you let me know the exact location and call that is causing this, I can login to your website and try to find out where this is coming from. If I can reproduce this issue on my end, then I’ll be able to officially report it a a bug and see if our developers have a workaround we can use.
I hope this helps

In forum: Kadence ThemeTopic: WordPress 6.8 – Update
AnonymousApril 15, 2025 at 1:43 pm #293572Hi,
I just update my website with wordpress 6.8 and I noticed that all my backgrounds (home page) are hiddens except when I want to modify the home page.
Moreover, with this update, I’ve had a message : “your site is not compatible with the woocommerce/product-collection block” and I’ve had obliged to delete these blocks and to replace by the other.
Do you have had the same mistakes about this update ?
Thank you for your help.
Have a nice evening. In forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: WP Rocket blamed Kadence theme for wrong CSS coding
April 15, 2025 at 1:13 pm #293570Hey there,
Sorry for the delay. I am looking into your website now. Thanks for the access. I tried to download the Healthcheck & Troubleshooting plugin. However, I am getting an error on your website. Here is a screenshot for reference. You may want to look deeper into this issue, even if it isn’t necessarily related.
I noticed you’re using the FigTree Font as the Base and Heading Font. I tried creating a new page and added an Advanced Text Block to it. Then, I set the Font to inherit the Heading Font. In return, the variable appears to be working. Here is a clip for reference: https://share.zight.com/NQumZNzA.
I also noticed that WP Rocket isn’t installed on this website. Can you install WP Rocket on this website and see if the issue occurs?
Is there anything else that I can try doing during these tests?
If possible, can you see if this same issue occurs on a Fresh Installation of WordPress?
Thanks

April 15, 2025 at 12:15 pm #293568I’ve had a somewhat similar experience using Kadence for a gaming-related portal. While the theme is excellent in terms of performance and customization, I did run into a few challenges when integrating third-party features like login redirects and mobile-specific layout tweaks. For example, on my firekirin for iPhone landing page, I had to manually adjust some responsiveness settings to make sure the CTA buttons displayed properly on smaller screens. Curious if anyone else faced layout quirks when building app-focused portals with Kadence?
In forum: Kadence ThemeApril 14, 2025 at 9:26 pm #293560Hello folks!
I’m trying to create a header layout using Kadence’s header builder that includes two separate menus in the same row:
A Shop menu (ideally as a hamburger dropdown)
A Static menu with always-visible page links (eg., About, Contact, etc.)
The goal is to keep the Shop items tucked away for minimal clutter, while showing the key pages at all times. I’m currently using the Kadence theme with the Pro addon.
Is there a way to set this up using available header elements (like secondary menus or HTML blocks), or would custom code be required, or would I need to use the mega menu option?
Thanks in advance!

Hi Juan!
I tested this on my website, and the initial height value is always applied when I scroll to the very top of the page. Here’s my screencast: https://share.zight.com/OAu1rwyE
Could you let me know if I miss anything in the replication? You could also export your header so I can import it on mine and better understand when the issue happens.
In forum: Kadence ThemeIn reply to: Can’t Access starter templates
April 11, 2025 at 8:30 am #293548Hey guys, I had the same problem and couldn’t fix it. However I found the easy way to access and use starter templates. After receiving the error message just go to your plugins page and find “Starter Templates by Kadence WP” –> “View Template Library” –> “Choose and install the theme you like” . That’s it.
In forum: Kadence BlocksIn reply to: Sticky header makes content move up when scroll down
April 11, 2025 at 4:49 am #293545Hi Karla,
Thank you for your answer. I want to use the sticky header shrink option. I know it changes the height. But if in top of the page the header height is 100px (for example) if I scroll down and go to top it should be 100px again, not 96px or 104px or 103px, etc. It’s not being calculated correctly in Kadence header block. In default Kadence header everything goes right. But I need Kadence header block for this website.
If I don’t find the way to solve it I’ll have to disable the sticky header shrink option. But this means it’s useless for everyone.
In forum: Kadence BlocksIn reply to: Tables not behaving
Hi there!
Apologies for the long delay in getting back to you here.
Table structures shouldn’t go off the page at right and Tables shouldn’t have scroll bars
The block has the “Overflow-x Scroll” option. Check if you have that turned on. If you do, turn it off and see if that removes the scrollbar for you. Here’s our Table(Adv) block tutorial: https://www.kadencewp.com/help-center/docs/kadence-blocks/table-adv-block/
Line spacing of should be far tighter.
The base texts follow your theme’s typography settings. Right now, it’s set to 1.8, and I recommend you look into their Customize settings if there’s an option to lower it.Hebrew text punctuations
Your website language is not RTL, so the texts will be LTR by default. The Hebrew text above has the punctuations on the left side as encoded/inputted. Edit your texts to add the dots on the left instead of the right side. Watch this: https://share.zight.com/9ZuOWkxjColumn widths
Will this still be the case if you turn off the overflow option?Borders
Borders can be applied to rows and columns, there is no built-in option for each cell. On the other hand, you can target a cell and remove the border using CSS code. Like this: https://share.zight.com/Wnu9AgxQth.kb-table-data.kb-table-data10855_4b81d7-4e { border: none; }The CSS class to be used will differ based on the exact cell you want to target.
Let me know if I can assist you further with this.

April 10, 2025 at 1:27 pm #293532Hey there,
Thanks for the screenshot. I do see where the issue is coming from.
On your website, for some reason, the –global-heading-font-family variable is trying to use itself as its own fallback, which isn’t possible in CSS. A variable can’t reference itself in its own original definition.
Did you happen to use any tools like search and replace on your Theme Codes? If so, this may have been a slight mistake. Can you try going to your Customizer -> Colors & Fonts -> Typography settings and selecting a different font? Then, save the changes, refresh the page, and switch back to your regular font. This may help re-write the Font Code to help fix this.
I created a video to help explain what I am seeing on your end and how things are working from my test website: https://share.zight.com/d5ukbXNl
I suggest trying to reinstall the Kadence Theme to see if that can correct any altered CSS. You can download the theme here. Then, you can upload it and override the current theme. This is a safe method, but I always suggest backing up your website when doing things like this.
If none of those things work, consider granting us access to the website. I suggest granting us access to a staging website, as we can make direct changes to staging environments. If you do decide to use a live website, please install this plugin so we can troubleshoot your plugins. You can read our guide on providing temporary access here.
Note: Don’t forget, if you provide us with access, ensure you set your response as a Private Reply. You can also send me the temporary login link via your support ticket in our official ticketing system for even more security.

April 9, 2025 at 11:54 am #293519Hi Nicolae,
I understand the critical error on your site is a pressing issue, and I’m here to help resolve it.
When a critical error occurs, WordPress usually sends an email to the site admin. This email contains details about the error, including which plugin or theme might be causing the problem. If you received this email, could you share its contents here?
If you didn’t get an email, I recommend checking the error logs through your hosting provider. They should be able to guide you on how to access the logs.
To gather more details, let’s also enable WordPress debugging:
1. Edit your wp-config.php file.
2. Add these lines just before the line that says /* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */:define( 'WP_DEBUG', true ); define( 'WP_DEBUG_LOG', true ); define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false );3. Trigger the error again by revisiting the page.
4. Locate the log file at wp-content/debug.log — this will show any hidden errors. For more guidance, here’s the official WordPress Debugging Guide.
Please share any error logs or updates, and we’ll move forward together.
Best regards,
ArchitaIn forum: Kadence BlocksApril 9, 2025 at 11:40 am #293516Hi Damian,
I’m glad you reached out. I’d be happy to help
Yes, you can definitely achieve a similar layout and functionality to the Kadence blog page using the Advanced Query Loop. To filter only blog posts and include a search field, you’ll want to use the Filter Search block (not the Advanced Search block), placed inside the Advanced Query Loop.
The Filter Search block works specifically with the posts displayed in that loop — so instead of searching the entire site, it’ll only search within the content shown by the query loop, just like the category pill filters do.
This setup gives you exactly what you’re after: the clean, button-style filters on the left, and a search bar on the right — all scoped to blog posts.
You can check the all Filter Blocks available here:https://www.kadencewp.com/help-center/docs/kadence-blocks/advanced-query-loop-block/
Check the screencast for reference: https://share.zight.com/4guv70ZK
I hope this helps. Let us know if we can assist you further.
Best Regards,

ChitoIn forum: Kadence ThemeApril 9, 2025 at 1:21 am #293511Whenever I activate WP Rocket, some fonts of my website breaks and loads incorrectly.
I have given the access of my website to WP Rocket and they replied the following:
I’m still finding multiple references like this one in the home page when bypassing WP Rocket:
font-family:var( –global-body-font-family, inherit );
I was also able to confirm that the way the property:value pair has been written is indeed invalid, and I was just wrong about which aspect makes it invalid.
It’s not the spaces that are actually the problem, it’s the parentheses — this shows how they should be positioned:
font-family:var(–global-body-font-family), inherit;
Our RUCSS generation tool cannot parse the invalid syntax, so it tries to “correct” it and that’s how it ends up looking like this:
font-family:’var( –global-body-font-family’,’inherit )’;And it will continue to do this until you actually correct the original references and put the parentheses in the proper place (with help from either Kadence support or the WordPress Support Forums).
As far as the WP Rocket side goes, I’ve applied a temporary workaround with the helper plugin from Modify the CSS generated by Remove Unused CSS (using it to preserve the original style rules and override the modified version that ends up in the Used CSS).
So once you actually figure out how and where you need to go to fix the original property:value pairs, you could then just disable the helper plugin.
Any idea how to solve this CSS error? They said, Kadence theme has invalid CSS properties.

In forum: Membership ForumsIn reply to: How to open read more in as new tab?
April 8, 2025 at 8:55 am #293508Hey Thomas,
Thanks for writing in!
You can create a hooked element to add a custom Read More button using the Kadence Text (Adv) which has the option to open the link in a new tab. Here’s an example: https://share.zight.com/v1uzA2nx
In the hooked element Display Settings, target the page where you have the Post Grid/Carousel. For more info, visit our documentation:
https://www.kadencewp.com/help-center/docs/kadence-blocks/how-to-design-a-post-grid-carousel-using-a-kadence-element/Another option is to use this custom script: https://pastebin.com/3PSuY3kf
If you have the Kadence Theme Kit Pro plugin, you can utilize the Header/Footer Script.
Add the code in Customizer > Custom Scripts > Footer.
If you don’t have the plugin, you can use a third-party plugin that can insert footer scripts to your website.
Please let us know how we can assist further.
Best,
Chito -
