Hi Ben,

No, the images are all the same size.

It’s just that they are on a portfolio page and they need some introductory text e.g: “Here are some examples of our fridge magnet design bla, bla:”

Perhaps switching to an image slider might be an alternative.

IE is a horrible browser so no surprise, to get the gradient to work you need ie specific code, here is a page to help http://www.colorzilla.com/gradient-editor/

and for the image try this:

Hey Andrew,
You can use the excerpt box in the post… for for example open a post, click “screen options” in the top right and click excert. That will give you a seperate box to type your excerpt into.

That will get you part of the way there, the home page uses a function to set a limit on how large of an excerpt you can use. The max right now is 70 so if you need larger let me know I’ll tell you how to edit that.

Try defining it in the product itself. See if that works, the shop page and product are different in the theme options also.

addendum: when I do a screen capture of the site, I get the menu (name and mobile menu) at certain steps along the page… interrupting and covering content. (using Fireshot)

Hi, I saw the update, thank you, superfast as ever, your support is superb;

there are still some problems however:
a) it still prints ‘mobile-style’ on A4 paper;
b) now the scroll bar (the special theme scrollbar) shows up in the page, about 1/3 into it, covering content;
c) the ‘p’ text is now really small, while headlines are still big. I know I have special css for those (so I must correct this myself of course – I kept your css choices and defined some sizes in px instead of em, % or rem in my custom css — maybe you can give me a good advice on this, what works best with your theme).

What it looks like is:
the only thing that ‘reduced’ is the copy text. The rest is still ‘mobile’ style.
This is especially horrible in the ‘portfolio’ page, where the columns go from 4 to 2 (gallery columns=”4″ but I’m using bx-slider integration plugin), and div-boxes start empty on one page, to continue with the -now 2 columns- content on the next page, even when there is plenty of space for the content to start immediately.
Animations are taken ‘midway’ (maybe not really your fault I presume?) so I get a half-and-half effect, taken during a transition.

What I would like, is to just be able to print the page as-is, as viewed. That would be the key issue.
and have the option to create a stylesheet (or have one) for when long content must be managed specifically.

I know this is not easy – some sites just have small page-content and are very visual, others have lots of long articles and must be managed differently… and I have made extra customizations so I know you can’t be responsible for that!

Just for others reading this post: the theme is really fine, works wonderfully, and these issues can very well be caused by me and the coding I did.

Shopjamrock.com (home page and all the other pages) is taking a long time to load. When the page does load most pictures appear as a question mark in a blue box.

I am trying to display a custom excerpt (i.e. summary) with each blog post. Meaning, I want my excerpts for each post that display on the homepage to be different than the actual text of the blog post.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Side question – do you have any other premium WordPress Themes that you have developed. I have several other projects in the works and am looking to explore additional themes.

Hi,

currently my theme is always showing the standard-sidebar on my product pages (see Saisonende), but I have defined the correct sidebar in the theme setup.

What is wrong with the theme? I run the newest version 2.3.6.

Hi internet,

I’m running Virtue Premium on my site through wordpress.
I have a revolution slider showcasing some products with a link to open a different website on each slide.
It works great on desktop, but when using my phone (android + chrome) the link doesn’t click through.
I’m running “no right-click” plugin but when disabled, it doesn’t solve the issue.
You can press and hold down like you would if you wanted to save the image and can open the link that way, but I was hoping to nail the click-through on the first tap.

we are seeing a strange behaviour on the shop page, products are randomly lost in whitespace as you see in the pix, is there a way to align them properly?

same here, the two products and a white space in the middle, they should align right or left!

Also: some products have no price, now. This causes a different height for the product boxes: this difference is enhanced in the columns, is there a way to have a fixed sized for boxes, no matter what values they show?

Change the url option in the menu of portfolio. Grabo in new portfolio item, and the links are updated well, but the element of portfolio looks like post.

Hi Ben! When I changed the url option of the portfolio and have re-recorded the post, the page “portofolio” appears with the correct name, but when I go to post, this setting has no portfolio, but to post. What could be happening?

ok so this is touching on two different things.
1. The purpose of the image menu is to have a background and text in the foreground so for what you want where the text is in the image itself I recommend just adding columns and images with links to your page, that will keep the images from stretching to fit a area. So for example, you can use the page builder and add images with the widget virtue: images.

2. for retina display. You are going to want to add a plugin that will give you full retina support: http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-retina-2x/

The theme already creates images for retina to work that plugin just adds the needed script and options.
